The Hanok is amazing and authentic, at walking distance from every interesting part of Gyeongju, and we ate probably the best Korean like breakfast of our entire trip. But the most beautiful part of this Hanok are the owners, who are extremely sweet and always first in line in giving super useful suggestions and also to give some insights about their life. We really appreciated the chats we shared and the tips that allowed us to visit some beautiful spots and eat delicious food. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience at HanokInn. The owners were lovely, caring, hospitable. They helped with restaurant and transport recommendations, we got ice coffees and kept our luggage when in Gulgusa. Breakfast was delicious - one of the best we had in Korea. It was fresh, plentiful every morning. I am vegetarian and I was quickly accommodated. We loved our room. We had an economy - it was small but had everything we needed for a couple of days. We got plenty of towels and they even changed our duvet as it was too thick for us. The location is perfect - right in the centre. The Hanok complex was beautiful. If you're heading to Gyeongju - this is the place where to stay.

Nothing.

Hanokinn is quite different, designed and built on traditional lines, with superb hospitality from Mr and Mrs Kim (who speak very good English). It’s walking distance to many of Geongju’s great sights, with loads of restaurants nearby. We loved Mrs Kim’s breakfasts, Mr Kim showing us the sights and explaining local history, and having a go at Korean traditional musical instruments (we are both musicians). Our Hanok was very comfortable and clean, with two bathrooms, overlooking the garden.

While it’s traditional, sitting on the floor of the cottage made one sire after a while. At last one chair would not have gone astray! At least there were proper chairs in the breakfast room. And the low position of the mirrors in the bathroom made shaving a bit awkward. But these things are very minor in the context of fabulous accommodation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the HanokInn, the setting was beautiful and was absolutely perfect! The Hanok itself was spacious and cosy at the same time and we loved just spending time in there. Mrs Kim was incredibly accommodating and friendly, the breakfast meals were absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed our mornings speaking with Mrs. Kim and the other guests that were staying there. Mrs. Kim had lots of recommendations, including for Vietnam, where we were travelling following our stay in South Korea! We even tried Pizza 4P’s whilst in Saigon as recommended by Mrs. Kim!

Well located with many food and beverage facilities nearby and walking distance to many historical sights. Mr and Mrs Kim were excellent hosts, starting with Mrs Kim's light refreshments on the day of our arrival. Mrs Kim also provided excellent breakfast offerings each morning which kept us well sustained till late in the day. Mr Kim took the time to explain tourist attractions in the area and also provided us with a map. Very clean and garden was pretty and relaxing. Mrs Kim helped to arrange a taxi for the day to enable us to visit Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto and Yangdon Folk Village. Mr Kim allowed us into his 'musical man cave' and attempted to teach me the basics of playing some Korean musical instruments which I failed at. Apologies Mr Kim 🤭 Underfloor heating was excellent during some colder days.

Bathroom is on the small side but this is to be expected for hanok style accommodation. This is not a complaint, more a heads up to others who intend to stay here so that you are aware.

We had a wonderful stay—our hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home in their beautiful hanok. The room was thoughtfully arranged, spotlessly clean, and spacious—ideal for a family of four. The hanok’s central location in Gyeongju made exploring the city very easy. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast prepared by Mr. and Mrs. Kim, and we were also treated to a presentation of Mr. Kim’s traditional musical instruments. We highly recommend staying for at least three nights—we only wish we could have stayed longer. Mrs Kim was incredibly nice to our two young children and thank you again for everything! We hope we can visit again one day.

This was the most amazing place to stay! It was so beautiful. The hosts are so kind. We were treated like royalty and fed so well each day at breakfast. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Everything was cleaned each day. Our hosts gave us lots of good advice about what to see and do. They even made us special snacks and gave us a lesson in traditional Korean musical instruments. We were there for three nights and we wish we had stayed longer. Gyeongju is incredible, and the location of the inn can’t be beat. We are old folks (though fit) and we found the mattresses on the floor were very comfortable.

We loved everything.

This place is exceptional. it's a traditional styled Korean Hanok building, lovingly restored/built by the owners, who came here to run this place in their 'retirement'. All their hard work is done with such joy that they make running the hotel look like a joy, and they represent what hospitality should be like. Mrs Pill-ai rules the kitchen and takes great pride in providing a traditional korean style breakfast, where you can eat seated on the floor or sit up at a table surrounded by items collected by the couple on their travels. The place is calm and quiet, beds are comfortable and modern amenities are cleverly included in rooms that are very traditional with matresses on the floor and charming decoration. Mr Edu will show his collection of musical instruments if he likes you! They provided us with maps and recommendations for eateries, and went out of their way to accommodate the 11m old in our party. Full marks.

I wish we could have stayed longer.

My boyfriend and I spent two weeks traveling through parts of Korea, and one of the highlights of our trip was staying at HanokInn! From the moment we met the owner, he showed us great kindness and took the time over tea he had prepared for us to go over in detail the must see places and sites in the beautiful town of Gyeongju. The bed and breakfast itself was clean, charming, and felt like a home away from home. Breakfast every morning was shared among the guests and provided such a happy atmosphere to start our days in Gyeongju! Also, the heated floors of our beautiful room were a huge plus as we went during the end of winter! We spent the last evening of our trip experiencing the joy of playing (albeit terribly) Korean traditional instruments with our host! His kindness and joy for life will be something that stays with me. We look forward to returning to HanokInni n the future!

The rooms are really comfortable with a thick mattress on the floor. If it's to cold you can use the floor heating to warm up the room. Like the rest of the building, the room gives you an authentic feeling and experience. Especially the doors and the little entrance space. The bathroom is really clean and all the necessary stuff are available: shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels etc. Breakfast is served by the lovely and friendly host each morning and you also have a nice view on the court yard!! I also received some practical advice for visiting certain places. Location is great. Most attractions are within a walking distance. If not, you can easily walk to a bus stop or take a taxi!
