My adult nephew and I stayed here. We got the last two available rooms on the nights we stayed - one traditional room (bed on the floor) & one western style bed. We both were quite comfortable. Love those heated floors. I will note that I enjoyed that in my room there was a small dresser/table with a very comfortable stool, and it was nice to have something to sit on other than the bed. I did like the bed, although I believe it might be a bit more posh than is traditional, and I am grateful for that. Korean beds, to my western back and middle-aged sensibilties, seemed quite firm; however, I slept very well and LOVED the feel of the heated floor through the mattress; wonderful for winter. The room and bath were pristinely clean and nice. I didn't even turn on the TV, but there was one. Enjoyed the little fridge for a cold beverage. (No eating in the rooms, but the common/breakfast room is open for that all day and evening.) We were greeted upon arrival by a kind gentleman who spoke English to us, which we did not expect but appreciated. He also was good to give us a tip to walk over to see the Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond lighted up at night. Wonderfu! The rebuilt buildings, the layout, the plantings, the music. Mostly Korean tourists there; truly a beautiful outing. The lovely woman who managed breakfast didn't speak much English (nor us any Korean much), but language isn't needed much for breakfast, is it? A very fine buffet of fruits and breads and toppings and toasted sandwiches, coffee/tea and juice. Really a wonderful start to the day. And the location? - Perfect. We drove around the day we arrived, before checking in, and saw some additional further-away places after we checked out, but the two days that we stayed in the guesthouse, we were fully occupied with places within relatively easy (in-the-army nephew says easy, I say mostly easy) walking distance.
Because we visited in winter, although during an unseasonably warm period, we were unable to enjoy the outdoor seating in the courtyard. That looks very nice for slightly warmer time periods.

The hosts were so kind and the location was fantastic, our bedroom was very functional and suited our trip and there was even a cat there who was friendly! Breakfast was amazing with a selection of fresh fruit and eggs and toasts though be warned the fruit goes quickly. For a stay in Gyeongju I’d very much recommend a stay here, it’s friendly, homely, calm and quiet with plenty of other travellers to chat to!
The only issues we had were the bed may have been slightly small for the two of us (me and my mum) and as there’s not much floor space some more hooks on the walls would be great. Otherwise we had a perfect stay!

The guesthouse was absolutely gorgeous. We were made to feel very welcome, and the host took time to show us a map of the surrounding attractions, all of which are very easily accessible - the location in Gyeongju pretty much could not be better, all of the historic sights in the city are a short walk away, and there's a nearby bus stop that will take you to Bulguska/Seokguram (would recommend!) or the bus and train stations. Breakfast was fantastic: we really appreciated the abundance of fruit given the extortionate fruit prices we found throughout our trip. The room itself was small and basic but very clean and comfortable, and was fine for two of us, although I think it would have been a squeeze with three people. We had a fantastic stay, and would love to stay again. Highly recommend.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Dorandoran Guesthouse! The hanok itself is full of character, but what makes it extra special is the beautiful garden, a peaceful and well-kept space that adds so much charm and calmness to the stay. The location is 15/10 next to the main attraction, shops and a bus stop. The host is absolutely delightful: super cute, kind, and genuinely lovely. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome, and her warmth really made the whole experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for an authentic hanok stay with a cozy atmosphere, a gorgeous garden, and the loveliest host, I can’t recommend Dorandoran Guesthouse enough!

We had a great 1 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed staying in a hanok. The setting/garden is beautiful and the location is perfect for visiting the local sights. The shower was powerful and shampoo, conditioner, body wash & toothpaste were provided. We unfortunately didn't have time for breakfast as we had an early start. Parking is on the main street and there were plenty of spaces. Lots of bottled water you can help yourself to. The owners were very friendly and they gave us a map of the local area and pointed out what to see. Would definitely recommend staying here, we would absolutely stay again!

This place is SUPER CONVENIENT! Pretty much dead center to everything cultural. The museum, the "palace"(?), the bridge, the popular shopping area, the restaurants. All within a few minutes to 20 minutes walk one way from Dorandoran Guesthouse. It was 36C while we were there and we could still walk around... but had to go to coffee shops to sit and cool down a few times a day. We could even relax a bit in our room before heading out to look at the lighted place one night and the bridge the next night. The room was a little rustic as expected but 100% comfortable.
Everything was as expected.

This guesthouse was a lovely traditional hanok, which was very close to many of the historic and geological sites and museums one would want to visit on a trip to Gyeongju. There was also a good breakfast available in the morning and some outdoor seating areas that could be used throughout the day. The owners were also very welcoming and helpful.
Unfortunately, the train station is a fair way out of the town centre so a taxi was needed when I arrived and left Gyeongju. However, I was able to easily walk to the historic sites in the town during the day and the evening (although some of the days were quite hot) so didn't need taxis etc.during my stay. In the guesthouse, my room had a bathroom, but the shower was not separated. It was a shower hose attached to the wall between the basin and toilet. It's understandable as these modern facilities have been built into a traditional hanok. I got used to it though, and was able to work with it.

Great location, 2 min walk from observatory park (첨성대) and buses connecting to bus terminal. Really good facilities, good AC, clean bathroom (wet room style), smart tv with Netflix, comfortable beds. Great breakfast, LOTS of options including fruit, toast, cereal, juices, eggs. Very kind host :) Would definitely stay here again~
Slightly further from main town strip with cafes and restaurants than some hanok stays, but worth it for proximity to main sites and quality of the stay.

The location was perfect for exploring Gyeongju. The hosts are lovely. We enjoyed the architecture of the place. The rooms are simple, as you can see in the listing, but they were clean and comfortable. The fresh fruit with breakfast was a treat. Before checking out, we asked for help getting a taxi to go to the train station. Not only did she call to make us a reservation, but she walked us to meet the taxi at the end of the alley to make sure we got off alright. (Note: You can't drive directly to the entrance of the guesthouse. If arriving by taxi, you will be dropped on the main street and it is a very short easy walk to the guesthouse. No problem at all with luggage.) We would stay here again if we are lucky enough to return to Gyeongju.

The accomodation is very warm and in korean style. The staff is very nice and welcoming, they will try to help you anytime you need. You don’t need to plan your stay bevause they will tell what and how to do everything. The breakfast feels like being at home, with lots of fruits that are usually not very handy in Korea. Location is amazing, you can walk everywhere and you’ll be close to the bus stop that takes you to the temples.
You need to expect the “korean” style bedroom. Therefore very small, the bed is on the floor so if you suffer form allergies (as I do) it might need to take preventing pills. The bathroom is very small and doesn’t have a proper shower.
