Our two-night stay in this traditional hanok in Gyeongju was truly memorable. Our host was kind and welcoming and he provided a detailed map of the city with all the main sights and offered recommendations for attractions in Gyeongju. Thanks to his guidance, we were able to make the most of our short visit. The hanok itself is exactly as described on booking: clean, charming and full of character. A particularly thoughtful touch was the breakfast he prepared for us, even though it wasn’t included in the booking. It was simple but very much appreciated, and it reflected the genuine hospitality that made this stay so special. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and warm experience in Gyeongju.

An AMAZING experience. Staying in this traditional hanok(with modern bathroom amenities) just across the road from the central historic sites was a highlight of our time in Gyeongju. Not only was the property amazing but the host really made the experience. He spent time with us on arrival, and each morning, to suggest the best way to see his city and how to get around it. We felt most welcome in his hanok and truly loved staying in the traditional experience. This is a traditional house of wood and paper doors, so being quiet and respectful of other guests makes everyone's stay so much better!

Absolutely unforgettable stay at Yettle Hanok Stay in Gyeongju. - The hosts were warm, thoughtful, and treated us like family from the moment we arrived. - The hanok was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and rich with traditional charm. - Every detail—from the cozy bedding to the hand-prepared breakfast—felt personal and full of care. - The garden was serene, and the location was perfect for exploring the cultural treasures of Gyeongju. - We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already missing it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a soulful, memorable experience.
Our stay at Yettle Hanok Stay was perfect in every way. - The hospitality was warm, genuine, and unforgettable. - The hanok itself was beautifully preserved—peaceful, clean, and full of character. - Every moment felt thoughtful and intentional, from the delicious homemade breakfast to the calming ambiance of the courtyard. - We felt truly cared for, not just accommodated. There is absolutely nothing I would change. Thank you for such a special experience—we’ll treasure it always.

Location was outstanding. We could walk to all the sites in the main historical area. The house was very charming. The owner was helpful, he helped us with booking our cabs and he gave us some breakfast, even though it was not included in the room rate, because he knew there was nothing we could grab near the house.
While we appreciate the owner's helpful nature, we felt like we didn't have our privacy and felt very rushed the following morning . The owner was there very early and he kept trying to ensure we left by 9am. Maybe the intention was good but we were on a holiday and didn't want to be rushed but we ended up feeling a little stressed out.

If you’re looking for an authentic traditional Korean hanok experience, this is the place! First of all, the host was amazing, super helpful and took the time to explain everything about the local area, even helping me create a daily itinerary. He assisted me with ordering a taxi, gave me coffee for the road, and kindly offered an early check-in. Despite there not being many photos of the room, the experience as a solo traveler in the single room was fantastic. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the host provided everything I needed, including a free breakfast. I totally recommend this place, 10/10.

This place was super cool, the gentleman who ran the home was absolutely incredible. When we arrived he went through the local attractions, suggested activities, and was generally incredibly helpful. The stay itself is a very unique experience, if you're looking for a traditional hanok stay I can't imagine a better place to do it.
The rooms were on the smaller side but there are plenty of common areas to hang out in. The doorway to the bathroom was also a little low so as a taller guy (6' 3") I had to duck. This definitely resulted a banged up head in the middle of the night.

The owner was super helpful with everything - communicating with taxi driver, advice on places to see and how to best get there. My daughter had a magical bedroom! It was a really authentic experience but with all the comforts that we have come to appreciate as well. There was also a restaurant right next door where we enjoyed an evening meal, and a hot chocolate later in the evening which was much appreciated after a rather rainy weekend. It's in a very convenient location with natural beauty all around.
We had thought we would have an indoor bathroom but unfortunately had to cross the courtyard which wasn't a big deal, but rain made it slightly less appealing. This was the only reason we didn't give this a 9 or 10 rating. However, the bathroom was very clean and had extras like toothbrush, toothpaste and even a hairdryer. Really well supplied.

Gyeongju is a wonderful town to visit, filled as it is with the 4th-5th century burial mounds of the Silla dynasty that was to unify Korea They are a haunting and beautiful presence in the old town. The superb museum is minutes from the Hanok and the town itself just ten minutes walk further on. The Yettle Hanok provided a great base to explore all of that and its owner was very friendly and enthusiastic in his advice. One has to accept that it is a hanok with the simplicity of provision that goes with that. We had a private bathroom outside our room, with a very simple hand-held shower. As a simple hanok it made for an excellent base for our visit, albeit not one where one would want to sit around and relax for long periods.
As I said, this was a hanok with the qualities and the limitations that go with that. We were nonetheless disappointed that our room had absolutely nowhere to put our clothes - it had no cupboard or drawers of any kind. The sitting area on the roof might have provided somewhere to sit and relax but there was no shade (eg umbrellas) and the old wooden seating was filled with splinters and protruding nails. I wouldn't allow that to put anyone off - if there had been no roof terrace I wouldn't have criticised it.

The location could not have been better. We were in walking distance of two major attractions. A bus stop was a two minute walk. The owners went above advertised, providing a generous continental breakfast, maps and extensive knowledge of itineraries and what to see in which order.
It's a 100 year old house. You can't enjoy the novelty without some accommodations. The rooms are small with paper walls, just like the old days. The 2nd floor deck had a wonderful view, but was in need of repair. Our stay was magic and any slight inconvenience was made up for by the adventure.

The accommodation itself is absolutely stunning. Its proximity to major sightseeing spots is incredibly convenient, but the true highlight is the owner. Exceptionally friendly and accommodating, he exceeded our expectations. Despite our arrival during a rain shower, he warmly welcomed us and took the time to sit down with us, pointing out recommended destinations on a map. Additionally, he kindly arranged a taxi for us the following day. We were pleasantly surprised with a delightful, small breakfast in the morning, adding a charming touch to our stay.
There's nothing to dislike about the experience, but it's important to note that it's a traditional hanok stay. The walls are thin, so you may hear other guests, requiring everyone to whisper at night and be respectful of one another. Additionally, breakfast is served early in your own room, so expect to start your day early. Despite these considerations, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but it's good to be aware of these factors and manage expectations accordingly.
