The location was near exit 4 of the dongdaemun history station, and there was a lift at that exit, making it easy to carry my luggage to the lodging. There is also a 7-11 near the lodging. I had minimal contact with the staff members but each encounter was very pleasant. The room, though not the biggest, was very well thought out. It did not feel cramped in the room at all and there were plenty of storage space. The dressing table space was one of my favourite. The bed was sufficiently big and comfortable. There was a single window in the room that could be opened and there was also a net that could be pulled down to prevent bugs from entering. The room had an air conditioner that doubled up as a heater. The toilet was really clean and bright. It was additionally satisfying that the floors dried up fast. The toiletries provided smelt really pleasant too. The common facilities were all very clean. The kitchen was spacious, the laundry room had plenty of machines available (though it was fully occupied at night), the gym was well equipped. Overall had a really pleasant stay

This whole place is carried by a holistic community concept and has a lovely independent clientel. The atmosphere is super friendly and cozy, the well designed wooden interior is warm and make the rooms all unique and amenities such as self-washing facilities, a kitchen, a gym and an in-house coffee bar give you even more the feel of a temporary home rather than a hotel. Connections to all areas of the cities are amazing and you can get anything to eat or drink by foot during all times, in case you need a quick fix. The staff is exceptionally nice, charming and funny - would love to come back ;)

During my recent stay at Mangrove Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it blended comfort, functionality, and community. The highlight was the cozy bunk bed that offered both privacy and restful sleep. I spent time at the clean and quiet workstation, which was perfect for studying and getting focused work done. The library area, filled with books ranging from art to literature, created a warm and inspiring atmosphere. Although I didn’t get a chance to use the shared kitchen this time, it was fully equipped with induction cooktops, microwaves, and even an air fryer—perfect for cooking your own meals. The laundry room and self-service store stocked with snacks and daily necessities made long stays incredibly convenient. Mangrove isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a thoughtfully designed space that supports both productivity and relaxation. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore even more of what it offers.

Noise from the next room or somewhere else, far from tourist attractions, no restaurants nearby. Room is a bit small.

The staff were super helpful. The place is spotlessly clean. It's only a few minutes walk to a subway station with 3 lines. And the KAL airport limousine bus 1006, stops right opposite Mangrove. It's very safe for an older single woman.

Hard to get a coffee or breakfast in the vicinity in the morning. Mangrove has a small coffee and toastie bar, but they don't operate till about 9am. No kettle in the room, although there is a communal kitchen.

Great location, walking distance to metro station which has 3 lines. Room is clean and tidy. Everything is self-served from check-in / check-out / luggage storage / parcel pickup. They allow me to send parcels to their mailroom before my arrival and I am able to find it easily myself.

The room does not have a refrigerator, so you need to go to the kitchen (located on a separate floor) in case you buy small cartons of milk / drink. There are not much restaurants nearby that opens late (only 2 convenience stores) compared to Hongdae / Myeongdong.

Room is small maybe very small but nice and clean. The building is also long term rental so there are working space and laundry at the basement which are kinda nice also gym. Location is good, 3-5 min walk from Dongdaemun design plaza and Line 2 subway

No staff interaction which kinda sad somehow and the price is high so 1 or 2 nights to explore is fine. Otherwise, it is not a very good choice for longer stays and prices seem kinda very high when I book.

Good location, within walking distance to some of the main attractions (if you like to walk) and great public transportation connections super close. The facilities are amazing, you have pretty much everything you might need (kitchen, canteen, great free of charge laundry room which for me was very useful, library, work station, coffee shop) - exactly as advertised. There are curtains in all beds for privacy which I value a lot. The lockers are big enough for backpacks and with shelves and hangers for better organization. Even though there are 6 beds in the room, the room has a complete bathroom (bathroom + shower), one toilet, plus one shower room - more than enough even if all the 6 beds are occupied. The rooftop is also a plus, it's beautiful and with a beautiful view. Everything was pretty clean and the staff is kind.

I believe it's still a bit pricey for a 6 bed dorm room. There aren't many foreigners, which doesn't make getting to know people easy. But in general it's worth it, I'd stay there again.

The facility was amazing. Room was good size. Bed and blanket were simple, clean and comfy. Share bathroom in the room with others without any problems. Was an absolutely comfortable stay although just for one night. I should have stayed here for longer but already booked elsewhere due to the place right in the middle of Myeongdong where I want to spend more time. But Mangrove is still conveniently close to other shops in Dongdaemun. Staff were very incredibly friendly and helpful. I didn’t expect it to be that great. Will definitely recommend to others and will be back if I visit Korea again.

- Friendly staff: you can ask them questions and they will answer as much as possible in english, if not they would use translation. - Mail box: you could buy stuff online and it would be sent to the accommodation and placed in the mailroom, just to make sure if it will arrive during your stay. - Amenities: there are washing and drying machine on the site free to use. Also there is a water dispenser on each floor, although they would give you 2 water bottles every time they clean the room.

The only thing would be the curtains for privacy in the shared room which can only cover your own bunk bed space up to the ladders. If you want some privacy during your stay, you would need to consider this.

Loved the location. Airport Limousine bus stop is just across the road, multiple metro stations were close by. Rooms were neat and tidy if a little too small. We were not left wanting for more regarding amenities. Check in and check out were a breeze, no tedious registration process as we had our QR code ready to access the room. All in all good value for money and would stay here again should we choose to return to the Dongdaemun neighborhood.

Room was a little too small to maneuver big luggages. If you have small luggages it won’t be an issue. I think I’ll book a bigger room next time, but it isn’t a fault on their part.
