The property, rooms, and private bathrooms were very well kept and in excellent condition. The space is simple but comfortable and felt very safe for a solo traveler. I especially appreciated the ample balcony, which made it easy to dry my clothes after swimming each night. The on-site restaurant was a great convenience—tasty food at reasonable prices. The free and reliable Wi-Fi was another plus, and it works in the restaurant, too. I enjoyed staying in this family-owned establishment and would recommend it.

This was my first time visiting Menorca, and I didn’t realize that this hostel in Fornells isn’t located near a beach. You can’t walk straight from your room to the water—you’ll need to take a short taxi or bus ride to reach the nearest beach. Something to keep in mind when booking, especially if beach access is a priority.

The room was basic but had very comfortable (single) beds with crisp, clean white bedlinen and a lovely balcony facing the pool. The curtains were absolutely opaque to guarantee privacy. The room featured air-con and a small fridge. The pool was lovely, but there was not that much shade.

While the location of the restaurant attached is right on the main square, guests do not have direct access to the restaurant but need to walk around the block. I was also not much impressed to be contacted via WhatsApp by a staff member who had my phone number from my registration.

This is a hotel with great location in the center. Close to the bus stop, and free parking is right behind it. There is another entrance on the main commercial promenade, also there is a restaurant with a bar and really good decent local food, including seafood! Hotel and facilities is not new, but everything was alright. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean and big. Great balcony with table and chairs, with the view n the swimming pool. The room is not very big, but it was enought for 2 people. TV and fridge were working.

Everything was OK, given the price!

Great location and the pool was kept very clean (its cold though). Found staff nice and were happy to let me have a drink on the tables near to the pool if I wanted. There is a fridge in the room but no water is provided (this would be nice as arrived late at night when shops were shut). The bus stop is a few minutes away so easy getting to nearby beaches. Air conditioning was good and never felt hot at night.

As others have said it feels a bit dated. A double room isn't guaranteed, was given twin beds instead. The key card is very sensitive and stops working if left near to a phone, had to change it 3 times.

Fantastic locality, comfortable beds, simple but perfectly adequate. We had a great stay there, and we will definitely not hesistate to come back!

The room equipment is slightly dated, but perfectly clean, so absolutely no problem for us. Even as this was the cheapest option we found for the high season, the price was still quite high, but I'm afraid that that's just what whole Menorca is... Still a great hotel and we liked it very much!

It's a lovely 2-star hotel in the small village of Fornells. Everything is simple but sparkling clean and comfortable, lovely staff (daily room service). Great Wi-Fi, fantastic shower, comfortable bed, beautiful balcony, AC, quiet area and a swimming pool. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is in the heart of the village, surrounded by restaurants and shops. Two swimming spots 5-10 min walking and sand beach around 40 min walking (lovely pathway) to Playa Tirant. Great experience also with the diving company "Diving Menorca" just a 5 min from the hotel. If you are driving, it's a great central area to explore both sides of the island. I wish we could stay longer.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

It was spotlessly clean, front desk very helpful, fridge in room, roll out sun awning and clothesline (with clothes pegs!) on balcony, good air conditioning, comfortable bed, right on sea front ( no beach but good swimming spot few mins walk away). Lovely pool. Parasols available to borrow if you’re traveling to a beach ( none in the town). 3 min walk to bus stop. Hotel wifi- worked well; I had a 2 hour meeting and no problems with connection. Balconies all face the pool.

Our ground floor balcony was right beside, and level with, the path to the pool- so a bit exposed. We hung a few towels on the line for privacy. No sheer drapes on window (which leads to balcony) so if you don’t want the people passing by to see in, you need to close the blackout curtains.

Is basic and yet effective, clean, well equipped, all you need for a nice stay in Fornells (specially if you are going to explore the island). The location is fantastic. The restaurant food is delicious and affordable, and the waiters are so friendly, helpful and welcoming!

The electric sockets are too close to the light switches and is hard to plug your electrics in without turning the lights on or off. The hotel is evidently old and needs some renovations here and there bit overall is fine, nothing fancy but perfect for a comfortable and cheap stay.

Perfect location, but the accommodation is back off the main street, so it's really quiet. Very clean accommodation with maid service every day. The maid was very friendly. Convenient to have the bar and restaurant attached too.

Not being able to check in until 16h even though nearly all the rooms were empty

Our fourth stay at this excellent little hostal in the beautiful village of Fornells. Don't be put off by the term Hostal - it's a restaurant with rooms. Right on the harbour with views across the bay, the S'Algaret has large rooms with big bathrooms and each has a large, private (you can't see your neighbours) terrace with a table, chairs and a washing line. All rooms face south east and the swimming pool. Fridge and safe in room with plenty of storage and hanging space. Spotlessly clean with lovely friendly staff. The restaurant is open to all from breakfast until late evening and the food is excellent. Fornells is beautiful; you can walk around the headland to Cala Tirant beach, or take the road, or just stay put. It's a short walk to pick up the Cami de Cavalls at Ses Salines. A bus stop just two minutes away connects with Es Mercadal and the main route to Mao and Ciutadella and other villages and beaches. Buses increase in May for the smaller beaches on the island, but really, April is perfect to see this UNESCO biosphere at its very best. Thanks to everyone at the S'Algaret, love to Menorca

We can't fault this place and if we could, we wouldn't. Because it's perfect.
