Basic hostel accommodation. We had a private room with access to shared bathroom. The bed was comfortable enough and showers were ok did the job but I didn’t look forward to showering. If you not a size 6 and super skinny the showers are difficult to utilise! Haha! It was experience put it that way. To put it into context we are two middle aged Aussies who are NOT skinny! The toilets were 2 hallways away from our room and all the lights are automatic so when you get up at night to use the loo I probably looked like a freak show! Haha. The toilets were very small and an adventure to use. We didn’t use any cooking facilities but they are there and looked very clean. This place is not winning any awards but for a place to lay your head after a day of sightseeing- which it’s perfect for BTW it does the job. Be aware that it is an about 3 flight of stairs which you will need to carry your luggage up. There is a lift but it doesn’t go to the hostel. Good value for money.

I liked almost everything, however, I think the number of washrooms can be increased.

We had a very good stay at Diagonal House. The check in was very easy, the receptionist is super cute and friendly :) The beds are comfortable (even though a bit small). The linen is extra clean (spotless sheets and pillows). The staff tries to keep the Hostel clean. They change rugs in the showers, wash toilets with disinfectants, give lots of toilet paper etc. You can use the kitchen free of charge. They provide you with key for the lockers. They look out for the guests. The Hostel is very close to all the main attractions. All in all, a very nice hostel for budget travelers.

Hostel has a great location. Super easy to reach main objects by foot or metro.

I didn’t like that the lighting had a sensor which doesn’t work very well. For example, when you are at the shower light turns off and then you are naked in the shower without any light, if you want to get a light you need to leave a shower and walk closer to the entrance of the bathroom, same problem was with toilet.

By far, location of this hostel is the greatest perk of living here. Most walks are under 30 minutes whether to Montjuic, the beach, or Sagrada familia. The farthest walk is to Park Guell, but that is farther away from the general tourist region. Price was another excellent benefit. Service is very friendly and accountable when they are there. The bedding is comfortable, contrary to what other reviews may say. The rooms can be cold, but there are blankets provided by the hostel which I did not use.

Wifi could not be used for work. Luckily, there are plenty of cafes available with great service! Baggage service hours started at 10:00 am and an early checkout means you won't be able to leave your bags for the day until you leave. Toilets were very crammed. The shower experience was alright but the bathrooms and toilets are housed in separate locations. Doors to rooms do not lock but everyone gets their own locker and key combo.

There were lockers where you can put your stuff for free, the staff was understanding and patient even when I had trouble with payment. There was also a travel toothbrush dispenser next to the sink which I thought was pretty clever. The people I met there were respectful, and weren't too noisy, that really affects your stay at hostels and it depends on luck. Also, it was close to the metro station, Sagrada Familia, and famous houses which were convenient.

My bedsheets seemed to be stained or weren't cleaned thoroughly. The room is also divided by a closet which I didn't notice at first, but it makes sense because in the part I was staying at there were 6 beds and I signed up for more I think.

Excellent location. Very close to major bus stops, including hop-on-off buses. Many restaurants and shops in the area too. Staff was brilliant.

The elevator did not stop on that floor, but luckily the accommodation is on the first floor (thus only one flight of stairs), so very easy unless like me you use a wheelchair.

Great place for discovering Barcelona! Metro stations just 4 min of walk or nice 15 walk to Placa Catalunya. The first night we had a problem with the heater, but staff promptly answered my messages and solved the problem. Bathrooms were clean and the kitchen + dining room were really convienent as we mostly prepared our own meals. Really good place to stay.

Nothing was a problem, but maybe there could be a bit longer intervals for the light staying on in the dining room. Also the hostel is situated on the first floor without the lift, so be aware of it if you are traveling with large suitcase :)

Location was great, close to lots of bars and restaurants and transport options. Check in and out was easy. Shared bathrooms were fairly clean and we never had to wait to use shower or toilet.

It was very warm at night and only one small, mounted fan was in the room. We asked if there was an extra portable fan we could use and sadly there was not. We had to move my friend's bed so the air reached her and even then it was not a great solution. I can imagine in mid-summer months this would be even worse.

Excellent location. Very, very large shared female room. Big lockers. Comfortable bed. Fully equipped kitchen is very convenient and you can save money by not eating out all the time. Toni is an excellent host. Homey atmosphere, very quiet. It’s like a large home in a stylish building: you get a key to the building and the front door, and you come and go as you please.
