Funway Academic Resort is a really nice place, with many useful facilities. The location is great, really close to the Metro and additionally there is a Carrefour near the resort for those who'd like cheaper meals, i.e. to get some cheap sandwiches, coffee and drinks. The Resort is easily accessible from Barajas airport with metro and one bus line, which leaves leaves you 3-4mins away from Funway Academic Resort. You can easily get to the city center. The hosts were really nice, the internet connection is good and the whole place is a definitely a vibe, especially for younger people. The room was compact and clean, I was aware that the bed is descendable and it wasn't a problem at all - people should read so they are aware of this. Additionally, the walls are really thin, and you can easily hear stuff from the other rooms and the students' might play music later which can disturb some people - for me, it wasn't a problem. I am writing some of these things just so other people can know what to expect. You can ask the receptionist to recommend nearby places to eat. If you want to use the spa, inform the reception in advance so they can heat it up timely. The pool is not too deep, for an average sized person, except a depth to the half of the body. All in all, amazing experience, if I come back to Madrid I will definitely come again. Not recommended for people who don't feel comfortable/safe to sleep on the bed that descends (in a way you sleep 1 meter above the ground on a bed which has an automated mechanism and hangs on steel ropes).

The swimming pool and it being close to the chaotic Madrid-Chamartin train station are two of the best aspects. The rooms are quirky with electronic Murphy type beds suspended above the seating area of the room but everything else is quite nice and modern.

The lodgings are upscale private college dormitory rooms. The downside is the ecological cooling and heating system. You have no control of the temperature in any specific room Gets a bit warm, hot in the summer and the hallways were cooler than the room. My advice during the summer would be to get a room that faces east so it doesn’t get sun all day long

I had a really good stay at Funway Academic Resort. It's actually also a student residence, so the restaurant has more of a canteen vibe, but honestly, I really liked the food – it was tasty and convenient. The room is small, but I had already seen the photos before booking, so I knew what to expect. It was clean and had everything I needed. About the suspended bed – I noticed some people had complained about it, but since I saw it in the pictures, I was prepared. At first, I thought I might feel a bit uneasy with it, but to be honest, it was super comfy and didn’t move at all during the night. However, if you have any mobility issues or difficulty climbing up, it might not be the most suitable option. I liked the place so much that I cancelled another booking I had for next month and reserved it again. I'm looking forward to coming back! The staff were also super friendly, helpful, and always available when I needed something. They made the stay even better.

Clean, plenty of things to do.

One male desk staff was confrontational and somewhat rude to my wife who is profoundly deaf. We chose not to eat there because of his behavior. They have a very nice kitchen that serves breakfast lunch and dinner for about the price it costs to go out in the area. Every other staff member was exceptional. (Consejo: no llames la attention a la gente, no fue necesario, y discúlpate cuando veas que haz fallado.)

They were very accommodating for a particular issue I have. Great lighting, good size though cozy. The bed comes down from the ceiling. The bed was noisy, but I fell asleep fast and didn't wake until my alarm. Good shower. I could hear the neighboring rooms, but it wasn't disturbing for me. They were very friendly on arrival. It's a close to all the things I needed. There's a small Alcampo right around the corner.

Could have been cleaner in the bathroom. I wiped the sink when it was wet and it was fairly dirty.

Although I was aware that this is student accommodation, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were functional, clean and well-designed. The bed was very comfortable and the shower fittings of a good standard. For the students there are great cooking facilities, recreational areas and even a canteen.

My room's windows opened to a street ... The trash collection woke me.

It is very up to date. It is a student residence as well so it doesn’t feel like you’re in a hotel most of the time. It has a nice patio and the pool is great. Room was small as expected but they made the most out of the space with the bed coming down the ceiling.

The hanging bed can be very noisy if you move a lot while sleeping. It has no AC so the room was a bit hot.

Very clean and great facilities, especially for a longer stay. I had to study while there so it was ideal to be able to use the kitchen area on my lunch breaks. Location was perfect for us (we travelled for a football match) but not super central

Internet signal was not great in the room despite being a student accommodation, I had to join online classes but the connection regularly dropped or slowed down

I booked Funway Academic Resort to be close to an event I was attending. The reviews were positive. That would be a good break from the large hotel chains. I really liked it. The informal and relaxed atmosphere was fantastic. I booked it again for my next trip to Madrid. Thanks everyone!

I did not dislike anything

- Nice location, short walking distance from the metro stop. - Having the bad move up and down is an interesting concept, allows for better use of space. Comfortable if you need to stay in the room and work. Wifi worked well. Staff was very nice and helpful.
