Location is excellent, next to the old town. We didn't take breakfast at the hotel, we felt it was too expensive. The first room we had was excellent, with a view to the cathedral. Unfortunately a family with children moved to the next room, and they were very (!!) loud - e.g. moving furniture at night - so the hotel stuff moved us to a smaller room in a lower floor.

We felt the hotel has seen better days. E.g. the room floor made noise when we walked on it. Everything was little "not really perfect" - though we probably would stay in this hotel again, if we ever travelled to Malaga again.

The location is perfect for us, next to the cathedral and city centre while st the same time overlooking the always interesting port of Malaga. Sunrise was amazing every morning too. The dining room is light with a panoramic view of the harbour; menu was good but many top city hotel breakfasts offer more choice. The roof top dining and bar with swimming pool has to have the best view in Malaga and as good as any in the world. Menu good. Our bedroom was perfect: bed extremely comfortable, view exceptional, extremely clean, air conditioning v effective and virtually silent (v rare in this world). Staff plentiful and v helpful at all times. Two minutes walk to the pedestrianised city centre; or to the exceptional coastal paths alongside the port and out along the coast. Walk (or hire cycles 3 minutes walk). Great choice of restaurants, walk to castle etc all v v close.

Bedrooms really need MORE accessible ELECTRIC SOCKETS and a shower standing in the bath wasn’t the best hotels should now offer.

Location is absolutely ideal - a minute's walk from the cathedral as well as restaurants and shops in the old town. On the other side, the park is very close and a short walk to the sea, Pompidou etc. Our view was lovely - over the cathedral and the town to the hills beyond. Inside the hotel is modern and very clean, and our room was big with a huge comfy bed. The room terrace is great - we sat there one evening, but on another occasion there was a private party. Very welcoming staff, and helpful with luggage, taxis etc. We were very pleased we chose this hotel.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like. We'd stay again.

The staff I encountered during my stay were all very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was well appointed. Unfortunately the coffee machine was not working, but these things happen. The breakfast was good, as was the coffee.

There is the option to order other breakfast dishes but this is not publicised by the staff. You have to spot the card on a stand near some of the buffet food to realise this. Personally, I think it would be helpful if a copy of these options was placed on each of the tables as this would increase customer awareness, and possible uptake, of these other options.

Excellent location, within walking distance of all tourist locations, and 20 minutes away from the train station. Spacious and clean room as always in Marriott.

I don't know if it was because of the preparations for the holy week, but every time you enter and exit the hotel, the porters ask who you are and where you are going, which at one point becomes extremely annoying. On one occasion, after numerous explanations of who we were during the day, the doorman chased us down the hall to tell us that we can't go to the elevators, and he has to escort us to the reception first, when we were clearly headed to our room with bags from gift stores after shopping.. It was an extremely unpleasant feeling, and it's enough to spoil the enjoyment of the hotel.

Great location, within walking distance of attractions and a wide variety of very good restaurants. The breakfast included with our stay was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Nice view of the harbour from our balcony.

The beautiful terrace and rooftop pool area was very busy each evening and seemed to be filled with non-guests. This made it difficult for us to find a peaceful area to have a drink and watch the sunset.

Superb location- we were on 8th floor- perfect. Lovely balcony overlooking the gardens and the sea- lots to watch. We had booked room only but when the storm/rain arrived we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel and they were excellent. Nothing seemed too much trouble- clearly some staff could not get in with appalling weather but hotel organised things so that we were not in the least inconvenienced

Access could be better for disabled although I managed.

Location to Malaga centre and Port. Staff were very friendly. Beds comfortable. Room clean. Nice toiletries.

Our room - 419 - was towards the back of the hotel, so although we couldn’t hear any road noise, our view was not very good (other hotel windows and generators etc) and there was little light. We could also hear the lift being used constantly and every time the lift stopped, it made a squeaking sound so I had to use earplugs.

I love this place. My favourite Malaga hotel and I've stayed in quite a few there! The staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, the views are great, the location is as good as it gets for exploring the old town and I love the views from the roof-top bar.

Tried to overcharge us for the room rate when we checked out. That's unusual, it's never happened before so I hope we can class it as a one-off.

This hotel is excellently located right opposite the port/marina. There is a downstairs bar and a rooftop bar with pool. We last stayed here 8 years ago and since then there has been a refurb. Our room was very comfortable and the staff very pleasant and helpful.

Whilst there were plenty of staff at reception, the rooftop bar seemed somewhat understaffed on the one night we were there, and it was hard to get a seat and a drink. We got a drink in the end in the downstairs bar. Lovely friendly barman and the football was on as a bonus!
