I liked everything about this hotel. The desk and breakfast room staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious enough for a single. Housekeeping came and changed the towels and cleaned everyday. The communal areas were cool and comfortable. The breakfast (continental buffet) was excellent value. The hotel is really well placed in the centre, right by the Alcazaba and museum, with a good choice of bars and restaurants on the doorstep, and yet the hotel was very quiet and calm. Slight inconvenience was the big air con unit right outside my window, but I got used to it (white noise!), and was very grateful for the air con as it was VERY hot in Malaga. Will definitely stay here when I come again, and would recommend to friends.

The hotel's location is extremely good! It is close to all the attractions we wanted to go and also in a walking distance to the beach. We arrived at 2 am but thanks to the 24 hrs reception, check in was very smooth. The staff gave us a map of Malaga and highlighted the attractions he recommended. They also let us leave the luggage for a bit after check out. So friendly! We also had breakfast at the hotel. It offered a good selection of food and was better value for money compared to the cafes nearby. The room is clean, quiet and well equipped. We had a great stay and would love to come back!

This is an exceptionally good hotel for the price. There are no frills but the location is first class, easy and helpful check in and we were able to store our luggage at the beginning and end of our stay. Very clean, great shower, comfy beds. Basic but exactly what you need in a city centre. Price excellent. Great value for money. Breakfast was very basic and a limited choice but if all you want is a coffee/tea and a simple breakfast then it’s perfectly good. I definitely recommend and would stay again.

I had to book and check in late that day because the apartment I booked didn't send me the codes. The staff at Carlos V was very helpful to get me out of my misery. The room is clean and even has a small fridge for beverages. I had a French double bed which was a nice addition.

The TV wasn't connected and the price per night was at least 50% higher than you would expect for this kind of room, as the city was bristling with people. I often walked the stairs and the motion detectors didn't react, so I had to climb them in darkness.

The room and the hotel went over my expectations! The hotel is in the city center, easy to walk everywhere but still quite at night (for Spanish standards). Hotel services are almost for a 4 stars hotel: clean, polite and helpful staff, hotel room services etc. Highly recommend it

Breakfast could be better: quality of the ingredients is not the best and there isn't so much variety. Good that they have vegan "milk" and gluten free options, but very limited and repetitive.

nice place for a short stay in the city, great location, very gentle and professional staff, rooms clean, big enough; there was a fridge which is not standard for a 2 stars so perfect to keep cool your drinks and a snack; if you come by car call the reception ( navigation gets confused) and ask for exact directions ( there is a limited traffic area but if you stay at the hotel and pay for their parking you can pass ) . right in the middle of everything - cathedral, museums, bars, rest, shops, aso.

The hotel is very well located. It is located close to many sights, shopping streets and buses. Also very close to the beach. A really great location. Furthermore, the room was good. It was spacious enough for 1 person, plenty of closet space and a spacious bathroom. Sound-wise it was really good too. It's the first time I've barely heard any sound/noise. I didn't hear anything from the street (I think this street is very calm at night, no party clubs around) and maybe I was lucky with the other hotel guests at that time, that they were quiet :) But I certainly could no complaints about noise pollution. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't say anything about that. You can leave your bags if you have a late flight. The bags are behind a close door, so they are safe. But overall very satisfied with the hotel!

I was only staying overnight so that I could take some time being a tourist the following day and I chose Carlos V due to its location, car parking and value for money – a great combination of what a city tourist requires. And I was not at all disappointed. It is a fabulous location virtually adjacent to the Alcazaba, Teatro Romano and Catedral. I arrived at the hotel much later than planned due to a number of “discussions” with my satnav which I eventually turned off. Once I’d ditched the satnav, and with the help of a taxi driver, I found my way to the ayuntamiento and followed the route through the restricted pedestrian areas provided by the hotel and parked the car right outside the hotel entrance. I checked in, was handed the key for the hotel's garage (50 metres away), parked my car and was sitting in Uvedoble Taberna opposite the Teatro Romano with a glass of Ribera del Duero in my hand within ten minutes. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, my single room comfortable and clean and the ensuite had lovely powerful hot shower. Located right in the centre of old Málaga, Carlos V was indeed a gem of a find.

1. The staff were very professional, welcoming, helpful and informative. 2. The breakfast buffet (excluded from rent) offered a wide-ranging choice of nutritious and delicious food and drink. 3. The hotel is located barely a 5 mins walk away from the cathedral, amongst a network of shops, cafes and museums.

The single room overlooked a small internal space so the view was bare walls and didn't receive enough natural light for my liking. However, I didn't plan to spend much time in the room so this wasn't really an issue. I was out in the beautiful city of Malaga throughout the day and only needed the room to rest overnight.

Perfect location in the city center with easy access to tourist attractions and restaurants. The staff at the reception were very kind, especially Mr. Alvaro. The hotel has a room to deposit your luggage. The water at the shower was always hot and had a very good pressure.

We've had prefer double bed instead of twin beds. It was a slightly odd smell in the room which probably came from the furniture that is a little bit old. It was a little bit cold in the room for us.
