Good value for what you pay. Bus A to airport right at the corner. Good breakfast for 7,5€/persone. Wifi works fine. Comfy beds. room at right temperature.

Missed an extra pillow. Elevator was on maintenance but it should be temporary. Toiletries are very basic and extra heating in the bathroom would be nice. i share breakfast pictures because that info is missing in the hotel profile. :)

My friend and I had an excellent experience at Hotel Sur during our stay in Malaga. The location is perfect—right in the city center, making it incredibly convenient to explore all the attractions, shops, and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is very clean, with well-maintained rooms. The breakfast was great—fresh, delicious, and well-organized. The staff was warm and welcoming. Our special thanks go to Mr. Salvador and Mr. Diego, whose professionalism and helpfulness truly made a difference. If you're looking for a clean, centrally located hotel with great staff, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Sur. It’s a gem in the heart of Malaga!

Bit noisy, but that’s the trade off for a good location

The location is fantastic, in the city centre, closee to the old town and so many bars and cafes. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. They had to deal with the day of floods in Malaga, with the loss of electricity for half a day, but did their very best. Diego was so helpful spending time to find a taxi for me when they were so difficult to obtain due to,such high demand.. He put in extra time to ensure that the hotel was running as smoothly as possible, dealing with the difficulties guests were experiencing. The breakfasts were also good value. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet with excellent TV channe optionsl I have now stayed here several times.

Nothing at all to complain about

The rooms were cosy even though it was Winter. The breakfasts were filling. All the staff were accommodating and friendly. It is hard to believe that the hotel is only a two star hotel. I have stayed in three star hotels which were not as good. The hotel is located about fifty metres from the main street and about the same from the nearest beach. This meant you could sitesee in Málaga or visit neighbouring cities. I did both as the travel infrastructure seems to be excellent and reasonably priced. I love Barcelona but I found the beach sellers and pick pockets irritating but I didn't find evidence of this in Malaga.

There could be more to see in Malaga itself.

No tea/coffee making facilities

Booked Hotel Sur for two reasons, Location and on site parking. On site parking is notoriously hard to find in Malaga, Hotel Sur offered a secure parking space on the ground floor of the building (steps from reception) for €15 per night. The room was large, modern and spotlessly clean. It had an interior view so therefore no noise. The corridors are loud though, some late night revellers returning woke us up. We didn't eat at the hotel but breakfast was found at Elite cafe around the corner (great value), also, don't miss the tapas at La Cordobesa, also nearby. Overall Hotel Sur offered good value for money with the parking and location being a real draw. It was expensive for the one night but probably due to the UK school holidays starting and demand for accommodation in Malaga.

Noisy corridors

Location was fabulous and literally within a 3-minute walk from all the hustle of Malaga. Malls, port and everything easily walkable. The staff were very accommodating. Thank you, especially to the man on reception that happily put the kettle on for us for hot water. Lots of days. A little balcony just big enough for one person to stand on. Literally just a 10-minute walk off the train station Malaga Centro. And 15 minutes from Malaga zambro station. Beds were cosy. Pillows okay.

No kettle in the room. Not a deal-breaker but nice to have a warm drink. No drawers in the room so it did get a little bit limited for storage, especially as we stayed eight nights. It's basic and not overly big bathroom but nonetheless accommodates your needs adequately Breakfast was limited to croissants bread basic cereals. Yogurts and juices. Space could be limited too if the hotel was booked up. We found some days people queuing for a table after 9am...... Quieter though at 7:30. As Malaga is a vibrant city, there will be noise in the early hours of the morning while they lift the underground bins and empty them and clean them. At one time it was 4:00 a.m. and the other time it was 1:00 a.m. !! But generally we DID sleep well.

Excellent value for money. Great central location ,right in the centre of Malaga, yet our room was very quite. We were in 114. The room had air con, bed,cupboard,showeroom,table and one chair. TV with 4 main UK channels. But that's all we need for one night, and who comes to Malaga to stay in their room. The staff are at reception 24/7 and very friendly and speak English. Water or juice is available for 1.50 euro. Restaurants right outside hotel. Taxis 30 second walk from Hotel. Didn't use breakfast but had a look, and all was fresh and self-service continental breakfast. Will stay here again.

No tea/coffee facilities in room and no small fridge. Other than that everything was perfect.
