This is my second time staying at ICON Malabar and I love it - the ambience of the hotel is great all the way from reception to the room. It’s clean, tidy, smells great and the staff are really friendly. The room is lovely, has all the main amenities, with a comfy bed, powerful shower and a lovely balcony too. There are also some nice extra touches in the room such as included dental kit, shower cap, toothbrush etc as well as a fridge and kettle with teas and coffee. The cleaning is great, it was always really well maintained I found and the reception smelt fresh too. The location itself is brilliant, a 5 minute walk to the centre and about 23 mins (beautiful) walk to the beach. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe staying at ICON Malabar and the surrounding location of Soho. Thank you, I won’t hesitate to stay again!

The Layout of the Double Room was exceptional. We’ve been to many hotels but the layout and comfort of this room was absolutely exceptional. Coming home to a nice a cool/chill comfortable room had us excited after being outside for long hours. Theres so many compartments in the room to keep our things separated from one another. Theres also a kettle and a mini hot drink area inside the room. There’s a minibar/fridge will pre-filled drinks as expected for a quick drink. The shower was very spacious and very clean. We had our room on the 3rd floor and it was made really easy with elevators really near to the entrance. The breakfast at this hotel was delicious with lots of variety and had us start our day on a good notice, very nice presentation and taste overall. All kinds of food were present at the breakfast. The entire hotel was very clean and I genuinely felt safe around the area the hotel was in. We learnt the streets outside the Hotel quick and easy, and it was very nice that the location had many restaurants around and also the port was very near and where we spent most of our time for a relaxing holiday. All the staff were VERY kind, they all had a great understanding of english, and helped us and recommended us nice spots to dine at. This place was so good, we had wanted to stay longer.

The TV isn’t a smart tv and you can’t connect with your phone/tv like most hotels. Would recommend a HDMI port and a Laptop if you’d like to watch something on a bigger screen. But other than that everything went very well.

The hotel was only a 5 min walk from the centro station which was perfect as we arrived quite late . Within 20mins of leaving the airport we were checking in with a very friendly lady who provided some great information on where to find all the attractions. This is a lovely hotel in a perfect location with nice decor, good sized comfortable rooms, and we had a balcony room which was lovely . There are a couple of popular authentic bars next to the hotel as well as the hotel bar itself. A very short walk across the road to the market, cafes, restaurants and all amenities. We couldn’t have asked to be better located.

I can’t fault the property and there was nothing to dislike. The only minor issue was the noise of the bins being emptied in the early hours outside our room, but this was brief and is not the fault of the hotel. This would be the same for any central city hotel but maybe request an internal facing room and not balcony if this is of concern.

Lovely big room with aircon and a ceiling fan and fab waterfall shower. Breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice for all sorts of requirements including hot food, pastries, cakes, and lovely fresh fruit. Hotel is central and near great bars, shops and restaurants and a 15 minute walk to the beach. Also ideally situated for a boat trip from the quay to spot whales - which we didn't when we went! They had been spotted earlier in the week though. Staff very friendly and helpfully provided us with a map on our arrival and suggestions of places to visit to maximise our holiday. Make sure you visit the Alcazaba - amazing views from the top! Hotel is near the wonderful market - check it out for lunchtime tapas - delicious!

Lovely place, very friendly and helpful staff! We spent an amazing week, we felt so comfortable and welcome. Beautiful breakfast, so varied and tasty. The staff was always attentive, from the reception to the restaurant and cleaning team. The location of the hotel couldn't be better. Waking distance to the Marina, Malagueta beach, market. Congratulations! Beautiful place with incredible staff!

It's more a suggestion, not so much a critic. For longer stays, it would be useful if you could provide a clothes rail for balconies to put the beach wear and towels to dry.

The location was perfect for us. About 5 minutes' walk to the centre and plenty bars and good restaurants even closer than that but far enough out of the centre that it was not noisy after midnight. There is a delightful ham shop with bar/cafe opposite the hotel side door and an excellent craft beer pub 50 metres down the same street. Rooms were extremely comfortable and the whole ambience was clean and fresh. Staff very friendly especially the cleaners. Price was a special deal (first week in March) and I thought £90 per night was very good value.

We found it slightly annoying that there was no obvious bar area. There was a bar in the restaurant but it was invariably closed when we got back around 11. This is easily fixable - just needs a member of staff who can pour a drink - and it's nice to have a relaxing drink at the end of a long day.

The staff were excellent. It’s been a long time since we experienced such brilliant service. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and so aware of their customers/clients needs especially the lovely receptionist Alicia who couldn’t do enough for us 😊.

The only minor thing was our room was very close to the facing property and was quite dark. The lovely Alicia did offer to look at changing our room the following day (the hotel was full on our first night) but we decided it wasn’t that big a deal, after all we were out sightseeing most of the day and out in the evening so just didn’t seem worth it.

Location great for both old town and beach area, both within short walks, breakfast had plenty of choice and excellent time frame for everyone to eat. We asked for extra pillows on our first day there and they were on the bed on our return to our room that evening. Our welcome on arrival at the hotel was faultless and although we arrived early for check in, expecting to have to leave our luggage and go and explore the city until later that day, we were able to go to our rooms straight away which was a great bonus.

Our only negatives were the noise from street outside was still very audible through the windows even with the shutters closed and water in the room was only provided on our arrival.

local food is served, after breakfast, you can drink coffee at a table outside the hotel. The deluxe room is beautiful Three large windows, including two balconies. Beautiful curtains. Lots of wood combined with light colors. Comfortable large bed. You can hear the tourists outside the window, but we are in the city center of Malaga, you have to take into account that the city is bustling. From the hotel everything is close. Beautiful hotel and I highly recommend it.

I missed the gym to continue exercising.

The location was excellent - about a 10 minute walk from Malaga Cathedral and the Old City. It was also about a 10 minute walk from the Marina area. Very conveniently located and the area itself was quiet, with a pedestrianised street outside the hotel. There are lots of shops, cafes etc. in the immediate local area. The room was lovely. We opted for a Deluxe Double, which was very well appointed and very comfortable. The room had three windows - so lots of natural light - and two of the windows led onto small balconies overlooking the street. The staff were also very pleasant, friendly and helpful.

Everything was perfect.
