Perfectly positioned in the centre of Mijas Pueblo. Delightful staff, delicious breakfast not to be missed. Good sized rooms. The hotel is well laid out. Lots of interesting art pieces in the adjoining gallery/shop.

Although the general staff were very helpful I thought it was odd that there was no obvious manager there to answer questions or just to say ‘hello’ to guests. It was difficult to know who was in charge. The rooms were a good size and very clean but the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and the pillows were hard. The staff did work hard to try to find soft pillows for me with some success. A pillow menu would be a good addition.

Opuntia is a tiny gem of a hotel with a cafe which is open to the public during the day. There are several lovely spacious clean rooms where you can stay. Breakfast is served in the cafe and the choices are good. The cafe has tables both in an indoor area accessed from the street and in a soothing open courtyard, You can relax there with a drink at any time during the day and we also ate lunch there because we liked the salads. Hotel Opuntia is simple and good, the staff are helpful and the location is right in the centre of Mijas. There are many restaurants, shops and frequent local buses and taxis to travel to other places. We look forward to staying there again.

Everything was superb, room beautiful with a lovely terrace, super king bed of the highest quality and linens too, bathroom first class, wonderful walk in shower, All Staff very friendly and welcoming even though we were only there for 1 night, (big regret on our part) Breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time, love the way they get you to pick your chosen menu the night before, Hubble was delighted getting a mug for his tea, We also had food and drinks on the day we arrived, which was also excellent and very plentiful, and very reasonable priced, love this place and will defo be returning for at least 3-4 nights,

This boutique hotel is absolutely wonderful. It is in the most perfect location, right in the heart of Mijas Pueblo. (Car parking is a 5 minute walk away). Check in (to 6pm) is done in the cafe below - this is where you can have the most delicious a la carte breakfast, in the internal courtyard. Very pretty. We stayed twice and both rooms were just lovely. Our first room had a small Juliette balcony overlooking the main square and when we returned a couple of days later, we had a room with access to the roof terrace, and sun chairs. There is a larger roof terrace, with more chairs and sofas, as well. Staff are lovely, the rooms pristine, everything is well designed and attention to detail, in all areas, is spot-on. The beds are super comfy and bathrooms are spacious, with large walk-in showers. The hotel also has a lift, so no dragging luggage up & down the stairs - and even these are very beautiful! We are delighted to have found Optunia and it will be our go-to hotel whenever we return to Mijas Pueblo.

Excellent, warm welcome in the cafe on arrival along with a welcome drink. A very pretty cafe with courtyard. When taken to our room, it exceeded our expectations. Light, airy, spacious, quiet, clean, modern with air con and a private terrace (room 8) Breakfast was beautiful;a choice of 4 and order 1 for the following day. So happy we booked this hotel. Don't be fooled by 3 stars! It's an amazing hotel in the most picturesque town I have ever seen. Excellent public transport to Fuengirola (only €1.55 on bus) Thank you Opuntia for an amazing holiday.

I can honestly say there is nothing I didn't like. The welcome, the cafe, the room, the breakfasts, the staff, the location were excellent.

A wonderful breakfast was taken in the enclosed courtyard with a Lemon Tree growing in the midst of it. It also doubled up as their dining area for non - residents & called `Viento Sur`. It was very popular to locals & tourists alike. I was well looked after by Maman & the whole Team during my stay. My bedroom was stunning with a vaulted ceiling which made the room very light & airy. On the wall behind the bed was a fantastic painting presumably done by a local artist.. On one side of the bedroom it overlooked the courtyard below & on the other side it had the benefit of an outside terrace area which overlooked the roofs of nearby properties, & it wasn`t overlooked. This space was shared with the room next door which was not a problem. It had a small table, chairs & a lovely half parasol that was attached to the wall. It was a lovely place to sit especially in the evening. The hotel was very minimalist, super clean. A lot of thought & attention have gone into it by the owner/Director. I loved everything about my stay here. I was very well cared for during my stay & nothing was too much trouble. Thank You to you all.

My holiday stay was too short in my eyes!

Spotlessly clean. Staff were efficient and polite. They went out of their way to facilitate early check in whilst we waited and had lunch in the courtyard. Fridge in the corridor with complimentary cold bottled water, fruit bowl to help yourself. Breakfast was very good and included in the price. Amazing value for money. Very central location but not noisy

There is nothing I didn’t like. Couldn’t fault a thing. Mamen was so helpful. I will return to this establishment for sure

The location is very convenient and central, rooms facing quite a busy area but we were very tired after a long hike and nothing bothered us during the night. There standard double rooms are not very big yet very convenient, packed with all necessary stuff. The breakfast was fine too, but it’s served per table so you’ll need to wait a little. The only problem I can mention is flies in the restaurant area, it’s not only annoying but not really sanitary, in my opinion. Everything else was good.

Everything, the room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect in a beautiful little square in the centre of the village with lots of boutique shops, bars and restaurants close by. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us some great recommendations for our evening meal when we were unsure where to go.

Only downside is no parking but the public parking is only about a 5 minute walk away so really not an issue.

If you want to be right in the centre of Mias Pueblo then this is. If you want to sleep in no chance as bells that are next door start ringing early morning, & also the street gets noisy too.

I had to send a burger back as undercooked so obviously I had cut into it, the actual owner bought the same burger back that had just been re cooked through! I could not believe it so I sent it back again & asked for a fresh one.
