The location of the hotel is perfect. It is fairly close to the old town and yet just sufficiently distanced from the two imposing landmarks on the horizon, namely the Cathedral and the fortress, that allows both landmarks to be seen from the main street next to which the hotel is. It is indeed a magnificent sight that looks almost unreal. We consulted the receptionist about the exact location at which a photo we saw online was taken that shows both landmarks and the entirety of all whitewashed houses beneath them in Olvera. The receptionist did not know the answer so she led us to a few older patrons and staff at the hotel bar where a rigorous discussion about the location where the photo was taken ensued in Spanish upon seeing the photo. Some ten minutes later, they concluded that it was taken from a small pedestrian bridge and the receptionist marked the rough location on the map for us. By the way, we actually walked to the bridge but as it turned out the view from the bridge did not match the photo. I then walked some 500m further along the main road but still couldn’t find the view so I turned back. Anyway, the hotel has excellent taste and there is a lot of wood in the decor which gives it a quaint vibe. The lobby, the lounge, the restaurant and the bar all have lots of windows which makes it airy and bright with lots of natural light. The hotel room was wonderful and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also abundant and very high quality and is worth every dollar. There was a pool in the yard where we sat and it was a great place to relax and have a coffee. The value for money of the accommodation is incredible and I hope to return someday. I think the hotel deserves more than a 10/10 and I would give it an 11/10. Our time in Olvera is simply one of the most amazing experiences we’ve ever had and the hotel definitely helped.

There was absolutely nothing we did not like.

The Hotel Tugasa Sierra y Cal is the perfect place to stay if you want to visit Olvera, a charming town with a fantastic castle. Although it's not in the centre, it gives you an opportunity to walk and explore the town. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. In the morning, we enjoyed a varied and delicious breakfast. We didn't have the chance to use the swimming pool, but it's there if you want to cool off. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience!

Located downtown, outside the old centre, this is a quirky hotel and not like many we have stayed in before. It's very Spanish, which we really liked - English wasn't widely spoken, but this wasn't an issue as we were able to make ourselves understood. It also seems to be a real community hub, with locals obviously using it as social meeting place, which seemed so lovely. There is a pool and sunbeds which are a great addition. Our room was OK - quite plain, but perfectly fine for two nights (and it had a small terrace with table and chairs, which was a bonus), but in some areas it felt a little tired. A bit more attention could have been paid to bathroom cleaning, but nothing that made us think we wanted to complain. Just a closer eye over things and it would have been really, really good. We booked with the half board option, because we'd been travelling & just wanted an easy option. I did check that the menu which was in our room, for the restaurant, was the one we could choose from - assured it was and we were delighted as it looked fabulous. And it was - we had an exceptional dinner on the first night, after again checking that we did not need to order from a different menu for half board. It turns out we should have done but the hotel accepted that a mistake had been made and that they would include what we had ordered (minus the drinks) in the half board rate, which we really appreciated. The meal on night two was OK, but our advice would be to ditch half board and just order from the a la carte, so there's no confusion, especially as this menu is extensive (with vegan options) and not overly expensive, at all. Breakfasts were great - and ironically, the half board one was, for us, much better than the a la carte one.

It is in a quiet part of Olvera but close to the centre. The rooms are great, beds comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant is excellent and breakfast is an experience with a lot of locals making the atmosphere great. The pool is an oasis in summer as Olvera gets very hot. As a family we have been staying here for 5+ years as we visit family and friends and will continue to do so

Very friendly staff excellent service. We had a suite which was spacious and well appointed. The food in the restaurant was excellent and they do BBQ on Fridays. Great stay.

Beware! We got a parking ticket parking on the road outside. No idea why, very unhappy with local police who couldn't tell us why we had the ticket as there were no signs or lines. As the hotel does have parking it is best to check.

Staff were very friendly on the whole and didn’t mind our terrible attempts at Spanish!

We had an interconnecting door and we could hear evertything in the next room. We were also very aware that they could near us so had the tv very low… almost couldn’t hear it ! Parking was also tricky.

This was our 4th stay as we have relatives in the area. Hotel is under rated at 2*. Very friendly, comfortable hotel. Staff are always happy and accommodating. Rooms are clean and staff clean and tidy every day. Breakfast is continental with offer of added bacon and egg. Buffet style with every type of fruit, ham & cheese, large toasted bap, cereals, yoghurts, jams and spreads. The price of the stay if very reasonable. Double room is enough space to walk around with ensuite bathroom, fridge and safe if needed.

The wonderful Annie changed our room for one on the first floor so that we had a balcony. This is a very Spanish hotel in Olvera which is one of the Pueblos blancos. There was a pool which was still open on 6th October. Room was immaculate. It is a long steep walk up to the square where there is a church and a castle (more steps!)...but there is also a restaurant/cafe/bar.

Nothing.

Staff was very friendly Food was good Pool was definitely a huge benefit

The fact that we specifically asked for a room with a view because of our honeymoon but didn't get that but a view of the road. There should have been more sockets. There were only 2 sockets in which the bedside tables were plugged in.
