The hotel is in an unbeatable location in Oviedo - across the road from the historic old town and one block away from the lively, cider house filled Gasocona Street. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The view of the San Pelayo Monastery from my hotel window was stunning. The hotel is tastefully decorated and the staff at the Gran Regente were professional, friendly and very accommodating. I would definately recommend this hotel.

For a four star hotel, the toiletries were rather sparse - a tiny thing though, given all the positive features of the hotel.

Lovely views, friendly staff. Large room with a bath tub and a beautiful French balcony! The location is convenient for sightseeing and going out for dinner/drinks, but it is also not too far from the modern center of town.

The noise. Some of it is perhaps unavoidable, such as the neighbours' (extremely noisy) shower, or the street noise at night, (perhaps the window didn't close well?) but besides, every morning the cleaning staff talk loudly in the corridor for a very long time (on the phone?) and you can hear every word in your room, loud and clear...I wish the staff kept this in mind (not great when you're exhausted from traveling). More glasses would be welcome besides the 2 in the bathroom (water glasses, wine glasses, mugs)

This hotel is well located in Oviedo. It's a short walk into town and close to the old town. 15-20 min walk to the main bus station, 5 mins to the local supermarket. The room was great, bigger than expected, easy to access with elevator, very clean and warm (we went in Feb). We had one breakfast which was great and decided to eat out with my daughter on other days but it was nice to have the option. What I was most impressed with was the friendliness of staff and I would definitely stay here again. Good Wifi reception

I would have appreciated a courtesy tray so we could make a drink in our rooms in the evening And the TV was for radio only so a little disappointing in terms of not being able to watch a streaming service in the evening. But these were little things and didn't affect our impression of the stay. Overall we loved it, thank you

Great central location. Very attentive helpful staff. We got a free upgrade to a studio as they didn't have the double bed we'd requested. All managed with no fuss. Our room was very well equipped with a fabulous view of the mountains and the city.

Very spacious room with armchairs and a table, as well as a large wardrobe and suitcase stand. Lots of space to put belongings, lights and power sockets on both sides of the bed, comfortable and quiet despite being in the city centre.

Facilities bit outdated but not as much as described but in many reviews but definetly not a 4star hotel. Overall we wwre content wish the price was lower but August might be generally expensive

I have stayed here before and loved the location. It’s close to the cathedral, shopping, and restaurants, and the staff is very helpful.

My room was way too warm - but it’s my fault for not asking to move to another place. The thermostat just was not responding. Great view, too warm.

Very well situated between the old and new parts of the city, the Gran Regente offers comforotable accomodation in the heart of Oviedo. The room had a small fridge and a good table/ desk, was clean and comfortable, if a little lacking in style/ character. The staff were friendly and helpful but, overall, this has the feel of a conference, rather than a holiday hotel.

We are two cyclists on a ride from Cadiz to San Sebastian. Our needs are simple we seek a clean bed and a hot shower – the hotel provided both Reception was welcoming and helpful – we lost some language and reception helped us find it The location was outstanding on the edge of the historical centre - the rate at the end of the week and into Sunday was very good

Well situated: at walking distance of attractions: cathedral, tourism office, monastery Many restaurants were close by Parking belonging to the hotel and accessible with the lift - very convenient with suitcases!
