We drove from Almuñécar to his place in one day, and we arrived very late at night, after midnight. He called us from the first moment we made the booking, and explained to us all the details of how to arrive from Madrid through the forest, where we saw in 5 occasions wild 🦌🦌 🦌 deers, we were so happy to see them, he told us to drive carefully and we didn't had any problems, the road was all asfalto or cemented, so was an easy road, all straight, none holes as we expected to be because we crossed a natural park without mobile coverage, was beautiful 😍. Then after crossing several breathtaking villages, very well conservate, we arrived at his town and there he was, waiting for us at the road to take us to his stunning place. I loved the place. Very welcoming !!

Stayed in this place for two nights. Simply the best value you can get for a very affordable price. Lola (the owner) is a friendly local, willing to help out wherever he can. The hostel is situated in a 250 year old building, but has been renovated from top to bottom a few years ago. Facilities are in an excellent condition, the rooms are quiet and the beds comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped for making your own meal, a restaurant/bar and terrace are included as well. This place is hard to beat, and I will therefore recommend everyone who plans to visit the region to stay in Lola's Albergue.

An amazing, quiet location. Just what we were looking for. They offer both food service and a self-catering kitchen. We went for a random walk and discovered the trail leading to 2 dinosaur footprint locations. About 2 hours return from the lodge. Cross over the river and head up towards the old church. A fairly flat path with great views following the contours of the mountains. We did it with closed sandals.

The patron, Lalo was a fabulous host. Even on a busy Sunday, he was a very welcolming host and couldn't do more to please us. Accommodation was perfect..clean, comfortable and great value for money. Food a little basic, but tasty and good value. All in all, a fabulous place to stay. Thank you Lalo!

Parking a bit far away from hostal was a bit of a pain on arrival and departure.

Great location. Big bedroom ( 3 x singles together) and comfortable mattresses. Communal ladies bathroom large, spacious and spotless. Needed own towels. Simple, tasty, inexpensive meal provided second night at our request. Bar open to residents on demand served inside or out on street-seating. A fantastic place to explore the amazing scenery. 2 nights not enough!

LALU the proprietor only has limited English language and as we do not have command of Spanish language slightly awkward but all dealt with in good spirits!

The charm and beauty of the place. The beautiful village and the food prepared specially for us, the history of the building...

There was nothing, absolutely nothing to complain about.

Peaceful location, a friendly and courteous owner and a great view from our room.

The food offer needs improving although we appreciate the hostel is in a remote location and we were staying outside of the main season.
