The location is everything - straight on the beach but also with the benefit of a sheltered pool area for those windy days. The staff are friendly, food is great and the dog friendly (excuse me pet friendly as there was a cat on a lead there this time!) is the big sell for me. A comfortable hotel with all the facilities and allows me to bring my best mate!

I think the gym could do with a bit of TLC and modification. I think the treatment area and generally what they offer could be a little more and personally I would convert the upstairs bar to be a lot more appealing and comfortable with that view and for the winter nights but honestly this place is my escape - I love it!

I loved the location, the facilities provided the cleanliness the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Our cleaners were also top rate. A truly wonderful place to be. We will be back

Everything was on hand so you didn’t have to leave the hotel if you didn’t want to. We were in a superior bungalow which could do with a bit of modernization and perhaps supply a kettle with which to make coffee or tea

This was our 3rd visit because the location is perfect - right on the sand with incredible views of the windsurfers and the water. There is ample parking, a good restaurant, and dog friendly, which makes a perfect combination for us.

One particular person who worked in the restaurant was grouchy (every time we stayed) and while clearing dishes during breakfast he was throwing them into a bin which was very loud and unnecessary. Also, he had a bad attitude when asked for coffee.

Great location - for me, a dream-destination. No need to go anywhere for days - beech, pool and food all on a site. Some sports facilities (tennis, small gym, paddle court). Good parking - always possible to find a place. Friendly staff.

The mattress could be softer. Food at the restaurant could be better quality. For breakfast - the choice / variety could be bigger, in particular if one stays there several days.

I really enjoyed my stay at Dos Mares. The staff was very kind and helpful. Our room was amazing, with a private back terrace with sun benches and a Cafe table with chairs. The food was delicious and we liked that the port of Tarifa was just a 5 minute drive away. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Everything was perfect.

This hotel is located on a beautiful beach. The hotel and property are very tastefully decorated in a Buddhist theme. There are lots of trees and flowering shrubs all around. The restaurant patio is right on the beach. The breakfast, included, was very good. Food in the restaurant was good. Very nice and helpful staff. Good value.

The promised pool is closed. We specifically booked the hotel because of the pool, and it also says on Booking that a pool exists and is open. Upon our arrival, we were disappointed… no pool. It’s closed, and the lady at the reception told me to inform Booking. Nice… but that’s the hotel’s responsibility!

It’s a great location, beautiful beach. Accommodations were clean and comfortable and I was able to have my dogs with me. We just felt the reception staff could have smiled occasionally or even said good morning when we went past to breakfast. The waiting staff were all very pleasant but reception is the first impression you get and it wasn’t great.

It was very dated and needed some TLC. Furniture was worn and had glass/cup rings over them. Although the place was clean. Wardrobe door didn’t open properly and the bathroom window did close and could easily have been lifted out of the frame. This we shared with the hotel and they took note.

We picked this place because it was right on the beach and also had free parking. The location is perfect, the beach is lovely, and breakfast was very yummy. The hotel is kind of beachy rustic, but in a good way. I loved the fact that it wasn't a mega modern gigantic place. It was quaint, cute, and met all of our needs. I would definitely come to stay again! We ate dinner at the restaurant in the evening. All three of us thought our food was good.

The internet was a bit spotty in our room, but if you move around the hotel a bit, it wasn't too hard to find reception.
