This is a really beautiful hotel in a central location. The buildings, the room were all excellent. The outdoor pool was a godsend in the city heat. Although we only took a drink there the restaurant space was beautiful and the guests we spoke with rated it highly. Access to the city centre is just a short walk away.

Given what I have written above its hard to make the following comments but our visit here was spoilt by the breakfast which is laid out over a space the size of 3 tennis courts. there was no staff to indicate what was going on, a single Tassimo coffee machine to supply all the guests and a distinct lack of food or service (staff who seemed not to want to be there) which made for a chaotic breakfast. Maybe we were just unlucky but it left a poor impression on what was otherwise a fantastic hotel.

We loved Hacienda del Cardenal - the nice grounds and historical feel of the buildings, comfortable room, updated bathroom were good.

It can get crowded by the pools. Pools are quite small and narrow. What we absolutely did not like was chaos at breakfast. There was a menu to order from, but no one took our order. All four coffee stations were out of use at same time. Breakfast items ran out and were only randomly replaced. Lots of staff at breakfast, but it seems disorganised. They need to route phone calls to a back office as the receptionists seemed to be struggling to combine demand on phone and at the desk.

Our stay at Hacienda del Cardenal was absolutely incredible and exceeded all our expectations. Nestled within the ancient city walls of Toledo, the hotel offers a unique blend of history, charm, and comfort. We especially loved the pool area — while not private, there was a more secluded pool surrounded by greenery that felt wonderfully tranquil, and another larger one perfect for a refreshing swim in the morning or at sunset. The restaurant was another highlight: the food was outstanding, full of local flavor, and we also enjoyed relaxing with drinks in the garden during the afternoon. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hacienda — with its historical architecture and peaceful patios — made for a truly memorable experience. A perfect spot to enjoy Toledo from the inside out. Highly recommended!

The receptionist was professional, friendly, and very helpful, making check-in a breeze. The location is perfect for a weekend getaway to Toledo—convenient and close to everything. The hotel itself is excellent: beautiful, peaceful, and ideal for relaxing. The two pools are a fantastic bonus and a great way to unwind during your stay.

The bathroom could use some updates, as it felt quite dated and the shower wasn’t very comfortable. The vinyl was also peeling , which gave the space a somewhat neglected appearance.maintenance and refurbishment would really enhance the overall experience.

Hotel in historic building not far from public parking and public escalators to access Toledo”s old town, comfy bed, large bedroom, effective A/C, romantic walled garden.

Loading and unloading a car is relatively complicated as one has to park in a car park nearby. I was left to my own devices to load and unload, also to take my luggage to my room quite far away from reception. No help was offered, even though I am beyond a certain threshold of age. While the room was perfectly fine, it was not of a kind that would have warranted the high price tag (but then all hotels in Toledo were quite dear). For almost €200 one might at least expect some help with luggage or loading and unloading. It should be made clearer in the hotel description that this aspect of checking in or out might be difficult for older citizens or disabled guests.

The location is amazing to start off with. Coming with our own car was easy. You could park out front to unload and a parking garage is located in 200 meters. The hotel discounts your parking ticket. You walk through the old wall into a complete oasis which is this hotel. The staff were all so very friendly and the room spacious and beautiful. There is a lot of attention to detail in every space in this hotel. You are within walking distance to everything yet set back from the hustle-bustle. In my opinion this is the perfect choice for Toledo

The hotel atmosphere was very pleasant and all staff were courteous and very efficient. They were extremely helpful and happy to provide help and information. Our rooms were clean and provided us with plenty of space and comfort. We enjoyed the breakfasts which had plenty of fresh friut, coffee and cooked options. The breakfasts which had room as a stunning space. The terrace bar offered a shaded, pleasant area where we enjoyed evening drinks pre dinner. The restaurant was of high quality, serving both local and national dishes.

The Location, the authentic charm of decor and the professional and attentive staff. We were always greeted and everything we needed was always made available to us with friendly smiles. From the reception staff, to the housekeeping staff to the gardeners. The most gracious hosts in all of Spain. And the location could not be better!

The breakfast servers were sweet but seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. There needs to be a server just for attending the buffet table, keeping tabs on what is running low and helping people with serving. Then there should be a runner as well as someone else just clearing and setting tables. Needs more organization.

Great location at the city wall around the old city, walking distance to many monuments and city sightseeing bus stop is just in front. The view from the room and the pool area of the old city was amazing with the Parroquia de Santiago el Mayor, a magnificent church with Islamic architectural element. The garden is an oasis with various shades of green. Everything is decorated with sense for beauty, though not everything is for everybody's taste. Receptionist was very kind and helpful, and answered all our requests swiftly. Restaurant In the garden is worth trying.

The swimming pools (there are two) were too shallow and not for real swimming, though good for a cool bathing. The pool water could have been cleaner.
