The location is perfect for anyone using train station, and next to campo grande and many restaurants. 5 minute walk to plaza mayor.
I rated this hotel 5 stars because I do not want my one negative comment to be interpreted in the wrong way. I have stayed in at least 300 different hotels in Europe. This is the only hotel that has a sliding see-through door for the bathroom in some rooms. I think most people would prefer privacy while in a bathroom. If this is a concern to you, perhaps you could request a room that has a normal private door for the bathroom. Everything else about the hotel is excellent. I hope the hotel considers installing privacy doors in all bathrooms in the future.

Clean rooms, spacious. Bathroom too. Breakfast was standard/basic. Staff attitude was the best you could've imagined. Mr. Oscar and Mr. Carlos were ready to walk extra mile to make our stay enjoyable and pleasant. Dinners were just magic. In terms of service and food quality. If you are looking for a good dinner, then have it at the hotel. You will not be disappointed. Lamb, pork and croquettes were awesome. good wine choice. Reasonably priced too. Location is great, about 200 m from the train station.
I think having a coffee maker in each room might add more than just a convenience.

The reception staff are always super welcoming and their English is excellent, which is helpful because my Spanish leaves a lot to be desired. We didn't have breakfast there because we know the area quite well and prefer to have a walk and sit outside to eat and have a coffee (if the weather is warm especially) - But it has a nice breakfast/coffee area. The hotel is modern and beautifully clean. The rooms are always lovely and the beds comfy. This time we upgraded to a city view which is really quite lovely, overlooking the monument and the park. The hotel is within a couple of minutes of the train station. Superbly located for the train in and out of Valladolid, with the fast train to/from Madrid really easy. Its; a few minute walk from the shopping area and Plaza Mayor with excellent restaurants and tapas bars.
There's nothing to dislike. However, for the purposes of an all-round review I would note the bathroom in our room was partly clear glass. It's a nice looking bathroom with a good shower and generally spacious, but may not be to everyone's privacy taste? There is a bar to have a drink, but not late into the evening when arriving back. Again, not a negative, just an observation. There aren't tea/coffee making facility in the room, which is something I quite enjoy, but wouldn't stop me booking there again. There is a decent mini bar with snacks etc.

The hotel is conveniently situated between the station and the downtown area, opposite the delightful Campo Grande Park. It serves drinks and meals on its wide on-street terrace, where there is little vehicular traffic. Our sunny room had a small balcony with double doors with a wide vista. The room was air conditioned and the sound-proofing was effective. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The breakfast buffer was excellent. We would have liked to stay longer.
Our only issue was that there was no blanket, doona/duvet or other bedclothes in the room, but only sheets. We could not adjust the temperature of the air conditioning and it was a little cold on the first night of our stay. When I mentioned this to the staff next morning, they were very concerned, and our bed was made up with a blanket on the second night. They said I could ring for assistance with any issue at any hour, day or night.

Easy 15 min walk from bus station, this Hotel was in a beautiful location facing the park and tree lined street. The room was a comfortable size with an enclosed balcony. The bathroom had glass walls but etching and a curtain for privacy. The overhead rain shower was great and the bathroom was spacious. Only thing missing was tea/coffee facilities to enjoy a morning coffee looking out at the lovely view. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of hanging for clothes. It was close to many cafes and restaurants and walkable to the old part of the city and the beach area. The breakfast option looked amazing but we didn’t take it up. The little thank you gift of chocolates when we checked out was a lovely surprise.

Breakfast was OK, though offering only pre-packaged “muesli” was not great. Otherwise breakfast was good: lots of fresh fruit, a nice selection of breads and pastries, and even plant-based beverages (oat and soy milks) for my cereal and hot beverages such as cappuccino! The breakfast staff was accommodating, indeed the entire staff (and I do mean EVERYONE) was as kind, helpful, and friendly as could be. Everybody was willing to “bend over backwards” to do anything to make sure guests enjoyed their stay. Being vegan, I asked for a salad made ONLY with vegetables (no cheese, no meat, no fish, etc.), and they delivered a beautifully made fresh salad that I wish I could get in restaurants all over Spain! The staff was also happy to store some of my belongings while I moved to another city for a coupe of days, before returning to Valladolid for a few more days. My room had a lovely small balcony that overlooked the pretty park right in front of the hotel! I greatly enjoyed the view of the park - at all hours of the day and night - especially since the statue directly in front of my window was nicely lit up at night. During my stay, I had several nice chats with some of the reception staff, who were all really helpful and knowledgeable, making me feel very much at home as a guest at Hotel Colón Plaza. The location of the hotel is wonderful (Valladolid’s lovely Campo Grande green space/park - with living pheasants, no less! - is right at the hotel’s doorstep). The hotel is also just a few minutes walk from the train station, and a short walk from the lovely city center, with its beautiful old buildings, plazas and public squares, churches, and stunning old-world architecture! I highly recommend both the hotel and its delightful staff, as well as the welcoming city of Valladolid, for anybody looking to enjoy a genuinely lovely Spanish city and a good time without hoards of tourists everywhere!
1. Kellogg’s pre-packaged, so-called breakfast cereal! 2. A not fully-enclosed shower stall (to keep water from running out onto the floor)! But those are small issues! What is important is that the staff runs a well-managed hotel with a friendly demeanor, helpful advice, and eagerness to please its guests!

Location was excellent, right on a wonderful park full of peacocks and roses and convenient to shopping areas and sites including Casa Cervantes. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was abundant, tasty, and offered good variety. Room service was also quick and offered just what I needed.
The parking situation across the plaza is a bit complicated. The lights in the hallways are on motion sensors, which I personally find creepy but it didn't ruin my good time.

Amazing hotel and facilities. Perfect location, excellent rooms and very clean. Staff were so friendly and kind and always willing to help. The hotel Manager was wonderful to us all and presented us with chocolates as we left. We had the best time visiting our family in Spain in such a beautiful hotel. We will definitely be staying here again!

I was upgraded to a sweet suite. The suite had a kitchen if necessary, it had a very comfortable love seat couch for sitting . The room had a walk-in shower which I loved. Comfortable bed. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The location was only five minutes to the train station. I took advantage of the location by taking train day trips to Salamanca, Segovia and Avila. The street the hotel was on had many restaurants. At the end of the street was a beautiful fountain that was lit up at night. I felt safe at 2100 hrs. Good breakfast. Big safe.
The pillows were more firm than I like. But not bad.

This is a really, good, warm, welcoming hotel & very modern. It is located in a very prime location, the best part of the City, very central, 3 minutes walk from the train station and opposite a beautiful park. There are restaurants and shops nearby and the hotel also has a lovely restaurant. From when you walk through the door, the staff are at hand to assist you with your luggage. From the very lovely Carlos & his team at reception, to the manager Mr Alonso checking in with us to see if we had everything we needed, to the lovely man that served us dinner on the first night to the staff that served us breakfast every morning and the lovely cleaner that kept our room so clean and tidy. We are grateful to you all for making our stay special. We had a nightmare journey, where our flight was an hour late and the connecting trains were all cancelled, we ended up getting a 2 hour taxi from Madrid to Valladolid, and arrived at the hotel at 9pm. So the very warm welcome Carlos gave us, plus telling us our room had been upgraded was just priceless- thank you Carlos! The breakfast and restaurant food was also really lovely. X The staff even sent me off, on the last morning (as I didn't stop for breakfast) with a coffee and some chocolates!! The hotel decor was really modern with beautiful colours, the shower 🚿 & facilities were very modern, with soap & creams etc provided. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Nothing - I loved everything & will go back again.
