Excellent location for getting around. 15 to 20 minutes walk to the main shopping street and the old town. About 10 to 15 minutes in the car to the beach. The shopping centre was located across the road. Really friendly and helpful staff. We arrived really late and they were so helpful. Our car was too big to navigate the narrow car park so they made arrangements for us to park across the road in the shopping centre car park for the same price. Good breakfast options and spacious room with A/C and a fridge.

It would have been nice to have tea making facilities in the room, even though you could get a hot drink near reception. Also it says iron in the bedroom on the hotel facilities page, but it was actually a hand steamer which simply doesn't do as good a job as an iron. I did ask at reception if there was an option to use an iron but only the steamer was available.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The bed was incredibly big and comfortable, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep after a busy day. The room and bathroom were modern and stylish, with everything feeling fresh and well-maintained. The location couldn’t be better—right next to the bus and train station, and a huge shopping centre was just steps away. Plus, it was walkable to all the main attractions, which made getting around so convenient. One unique feature I haven’t seen in other hotels was their range of different pillows to choose from. This really added a special touch and made my stay even more comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

Nothing, we had a great stay

Well situated, just across a new mall and the Halo elevator which takes you downtown. Also walking distance from city center(but all streets are steep, so elevator is more comfortable). The room was comfortable, we chose a room without view, opening to a rather ugly inner courtyard but thanks to this is was really silent even with the window open. We arrived during the countrywide blackout, but still the personell was very organized, generators were functioning, so we could check in, one elevator was still running, door of room could be opened so all good and well organized even in case of an unexpected situation. Breakfast is ok, for a longer period a bit boring.

Cleaning of the room was not always perfect. Although I did not ask for the towels to be changed, I think it was changed on a daily basis… Breakfast a bit boring after a few days.

We love Occidental Vigo! Husband and wife riding the Camino Portuguese by bicycle. This ended up being one of our favorite hotels. We chose Occidental Vigo due to its location as it is close to the bike path. Our stay was even better than imagined. We had a top floor facing the water affording a fantastic view across the bay. The room was very clean and modern with a great shower, washroom with bidet. The beds were amazing and we had a solid nights sleep. We also appreciated the in-room mini fridge. We took advantage of the large shopping mall across the street and had lunch and dinner in one of the numerous restaurants inside. There is also a huge grocery store in the mall. The check in was quick and efficient. We were able to store our bicycles in the underground parking complex in a dedicated bike locker with a bike rack. We were politely shown the location by a staff member. Checkout was equally fast and simple. We recommend Occidental Vigo and would definitely stay here again.

We did NOT like the fact that they charge a fee for bike storage. We did NOT like the fact that they charge for coffee at the coffee station in the lobby..... really? As a paying client, we would have enjoyed a free cup of coffee.

On check in 16 Apr, there was very little information provided by the staff for transfer of bags for our camino trip. It seemed like this was a common request but the reception staff gave the bare minimum of help. The lady on reception the following day was superb. She helped us with labelling our bags and ensuring the collection company sorted out proper labels. We were a group of 5 and would recommend staying here but some staff could do better

The hotel is very well located in the centre of Vigo and easy walking distant to the main city. As we had a car we paid €18 to use the hotel parking facility which was worth it. Our original booked room was not front facing so paid a €10 upgrade which was worth it as the views are amazing! The room facilities were excellent and the breakfast, plenty of choice. Staff were extremely helpful.

Nothing, although a tea/coffee making facility would have been nice.

Very nice spacious room with bed, two chairs and a small table. Hotel has a lift. Very clean and quiet. Easy to get to from the Camino. Getting the wifi set up on Apple devices is a bit of a mission but once on line the connection and speed are excellent. This is a quality place.

A bit too far from the downtown pedestrian area. About 20 minutes walk. Breakfast was not included for my booking and quite expensive at €16. (But it was a good spread.)

Nice breakfast. Spacious rain shower / wet room combined with full size bathtub. Location was good - opposite Gran Vía de Vigo shopping mall, bus terminal and train station allowing us to take a short train ride to Pontevedra for a day trip.

We stayed during mid-March but surprisingly the room was very warm. We were told that the air conditioning unit could not be individually controlled or changed in each room due to the season!!! Warm air was blowing. The receptionist told us to either switch it off completely or open the window instead. 😡

The hotel was perfect. The staff, very attentive. Elena and Manuel in the reception area went the extra mile to help me and see that I was well cared for. Thank you for sharing an email with helpful hints about the area too! The Occidental definitely goes the extra mile to assure you have a wonderful stay. I also enjoyed having the train and bus station across the street along side a lovely upscale mall with a supermarket and restaurants.

We really liked this hotel and the staff were really nice! It is a great location, right across the street from the mall (which we highly recommend you go to!) and restaurants. We were right on the Camino and saw quite a bit of pilgrims.

Compared to other hotels we stayed in along the Camino, we felt like this hotel was a little more "corporate" and were charged for more items that we were used to getting complimentary elsewhere. We didn't have a problem with paying, but we noticed that it lacked that authenticity we were used to.
