Very spacious room and bathroom. Both AC and fan in room. Clean and well maintained. Comfortable bed. Quiet area for a good sleep. Hot water in shower in evenings but cooler in morning but this wasn't a problem as the bathroom has an outdoor feel so was warm anyway. Good lighting in rooms. Mosquito repellent plug-in provided in room. Neil (manager) was friendly and helpful. Accommodation provided free Tuk-tuk service to drop you to beach. You could message them/call to pick you up. However, we walked back (about 20 minute walk). Complementary water provided daily. We asked for hot oats for breakfast and enjoyed it. The fruit platter and fresh mango juice was tasty. Nice pool area with sun loungers. However, no umbrellas for shade but this was fine for us as we went for a swim after peak afternoon sun.

Many mosquitoes by pool/dining area in early evening. Would benefit from incense/burning mosquito coils in the evening like other places we had previously stayed. We ordered the pancake platter for breakfast but found the pancakes to be too undercooked for our liking so requested Neil to swap this for toast the following morning which we enjoyed.

We loved the relaxing and peaceful vibe of the hotel. The staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly and always greeted us with the biggest smiles. We stayed for two nights, which was just enough time to explore the city and enjoy the swimming pool. Breakfast was great, with both European and Sri Lankan options available. We ended up ordering lunch at the hotel too, since we were feeling a bit lazy to go out and it did not disappoint! I asked for a Sri Lankan-style potato curry (off the menu), and it was absolutely out of this world. A great spot for families as well. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay here. The property is beautiful, very relaxing. Extremely clean and beautiful design. The breakfast was ten out of ten. They will cook you whatever you like. The staff were unbelievable. Went above and beyond to help. They drop you wherever you want and the tuk tuk rides add to the fun. We would walk back from the beach and would take around 20 mins. They arranged a number of trips for us and made our stay completely stress free.We stayed here for five nights, a family of five in two chalets and can honestly say we would not be leaving if we hadn’t already paid for our second hotel. Our time here has been exceptional and we are sad to leave.

One of the best stays in my life. The place is so tranqil, staff helpful, rooms clean, beds and pillows so comfortable, breakfast nice, food very good, great pool. You have a free tuktuk to get you in the city or to the beach. The rooms also smells good and everything was in a great condition and the bathroom was an experience by itself. You are kind of connected with the nature as there are real plants growing on the ground and it rains a bit inside the shower, which has something like waterfall. Really well done. Thank you.

This was hands down the best hotel we stayed during our Sri Lanka trip! It's a charming little resort with 5 or 6 villa styled rooms, which gives it a very private and peaceful vibes. The open air bathroom was a standout feature. The shower was designed so beautifully that it genuinely felt like showering under a waterfall. The pool at the property was large, clean, and very well maintained. Honestly, there’s absolutely nothing we didn’t like about this property. Everything from the design to the service was exceptional. Highly, highly recommended!

Our stay at Tree of Life Resort was a delightful experience. The rooms were beautifully designed, showcasing a unique artistic flair that added to the charm of the property. We were disappointed to only stay for one night, as this resort truly deserves a longer visit. Nothing at the hotel. My only complaint is with booking.com The booking advised to pay in US dollars. I therefore pre loaded my travel card with us dollars. It was only after I paid that I found they don't accept dollars and was then charged a fee of $52.40. Had I known this I would have taken more cash or used my zero card with no fees. Very disappointed with booking.com.

This is honestly such a gem of a place. At first sight appears very small but each chalet has plenty of space and all amenities. There are only 5 chalets so everything is quite peaceful even when the place is fully booked. The bathroom in particular was absolutely glorious; one that gives the illusion of showering outdoors. The staff were incredible and even dropped us off at the station free of charge via the hotel tuktuk. The food was amazing (the parata with chicken curry for breakfast was a particular favourite). The property is a 15min walk from the beach and there's plenty of birds to see on the way, or if you request it, the hotel will get you there by tuktuk. Absolutely wonderful stay.

Very modern but cosy, fabulous detailing in the rooms with the waterfall shower and stone tiles. Comfortable bed with clean white sheets. Lovely private pool too; perfect for a quick dip before breakfast. Amazing staff couldn’t do enough to help in every way. With the tuktuk available to take us around . The owner came to make sure all was well too.

Limited menu very European would prefer more Sri Lankan dishes.

We loved our stay at Tree of Life. This truly is a gem of a boutique hotel. The room is so clean and comfortable with an incredible shower and bathroom. You feel like you are living in a truly safe and private home. The hotel is about a ten min walk to the beautiful beach in Bentota but we always took advantage of the free Tuktuk rides from the most amazing staff that work so hard. They all go above and beyond to make sure their guests are well cared for. Upul and his wife treat you like friends of the family and we felt blessed to have met them. Upul took us on memory making excursions. We went on the river safari, Yala national park, a trip to Galle taking in the moonstone mine and topped off by releasing baby turtles into the sea at sunset. We had fabulous food at Tree of Life and also recommend Malis and Vintage as great spots to eat. On our last night, the team gave us a farewell dinner that we will never forget. My husband enjoyed a red snapper from that morning’s catch and I had the most incredible prawns. It was such a kind gesture and we were really touched by their generosity. This is a very special place to be and we highly recommend you stay here. Thank you so much to everyone at Tree of Life for giving us the most memorable holiday. We will be back!
