This was our first visit to Cinnanom Bentota Beach and it was a truly fabulous stay. From the moment of our arrival, all the staff at Bentota Beach went way above and beyond to ensure our time was as enjoyable and relaxing as it could possibly be. Lakmi Lakshika (Guest Services Manager) and the reception team welcomed us so warmly on our arrival and provided us a personal tour of the hotel to show us where everything was before arriving at our rooms. Our rooms were lovely and spacious and all amenities were available. Ruwan and his colleagues provided exceptional housekeeping services for our rooms and anything we needed was always efficiently and quickly provided. On the All Inclusive package, the food and drinks available were plentiful and very tasty and I loved having traditional Sri Lankan food readily available for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Priyantha and his Food and Beverages team provided excellent service in the restaurants and bars. Pradeep and his team of pool attendants also provided excellent service to us during our stay and there was always a plentiful supply of sun lounges and fresh towels readily available whenever needed. We really did have an exceptional stay at Bentota Beach and would absolutely stay there again without hesitation. I would also make special mention to Lakmi Lakshika who was so attentive and went above and beyond every day to ensure everything was just perfect for us during our stay.

We had a stay in dec 2023 . The resort is beautiful. The rooms were large, clean, well setup. We were welcomed with a traditional band of flute and drum.We had the room facing the beach and pool. The hospitality by staffs were good. Had their buffet dinner and breakfast. A wide spread of buffet , totally value for money

They had a cultural show during my stay there , however it was held at 8pm, I think the timing should be adjusted as that is preferably time for dinner as well. There was also a brief dance show at the pool side, I manged to see from my balcony, I wish I was informed on the show so I could have a better view Even so I loved my stay

The hotel has a superb location on extensive grounds between the river and the beach. The beach is a very long stretch of fine sand, no stones, no corals. Beautiful sunsets. The hotel is also close to shops (the gem shop Aida is great) and restaurants. We enjoyed the complementary yoga by the river (put mosquito spray if in the evening). Breakfast is excellent, we loved the fresh coconuts. Good gym. Staff is great, whenever we asked for something, it was immediately executed (except for the bath salts ;) ) Thumbs up for Nilan at the cashier desk.

Almost no plugs in the room. One day, our water and coffee/tea were not replenished. There were bath salts on the first day, never again (even though we asked for more). Staff (esp. cleaning) were a little pushy for tips.

5 night stay with 2 kids 5 and 3. Really nice, bentota beach is lovely though waves are big the time of year we went (August) the hotel is big and was very quiet with not many guests the first week of August which was nice. It got a lot busier the day we left (8th) and I dont think i would enjoy it when full quite as much! Kids soft play is great too, and the bar is really nice. Food buffets and restaurants are 1st class. Staff are wonderful. Our room service made a different animal.with towels every day that was a delight for the kids (and us adults!). Well done to you all.

The pool is constructed with tiles many of which are broken and are rough surfaced. Both our kids, and others ended up with cuts on their feet that were quite painful. Staff were certainly helpful providing plasters, and we then used shoes in the pool for the kids that abated the problem. I'd advise the hotel specifically suggest that children wear shoes in the pool. Or repair the tiles/change them but of course that is a huge job.

It was a two hour drive from Colombo and half way to Galle. The property is spacious with both estuary and beach frontages. The breakfast and dinner choices are most extensive and high quality. There is an enormous number of staff doing cleaning, gardening, table service and customer support. Maja of customer relations was particularly helpful and prompt when we asked for a two hour delay of our checkout time.

The only criticism I can make is 1. that the table service staff were too attentive constantly asking if we were okay and offering help. 2. We stayed in a Poolside room where the furniture could have benefited from some refurbishment. 3. There were never enough sun lounges on the beach so I dragged one from the pool area to the beach each day 4. The external paths were muddy after rain and there was no direct path from our room to the dining area. These were all minor inconveniences which did not spoil our enjoyable stay.

This is one of our favourite hotels in Sri Lanka. The layout of the gardens, between the sea and the lagoon, is magnificent. Geoffrey Bawa chose this spot very carefully and the new wings have been integrated well. Even if there are many guests, you can still retain a certain privacy because the grounds are so extensive. We particularly enjoyed a curated tour by Sanduni de Fonseka who has specialised in the work of the Bawa brothers and the art works on display - by, amongst others, Laki Senanayake and Barbara Sansoni. High-quality food. We have been to this hotel several times, and our overall experience, as always, was excellent.

From the arrival and being greeted by musicians and garlands - to the excellent facilities and various dining options , through to the attentive smiling helpful staff and management - we had a perfect few days relaxing after a busy 7day tour of Sri Lanka . The location in Bentota is perfect , with both the lagoon and sea bordering the hotel , and the accommodation and facilities are well laid out , luxurious and spacious . Ultimately though what made the stay perfect was the amazing staff - and a big thanks to NIKINI on the front desk , who initially checked us in and professionally gave us an orientation tour of the premises and facilities -and on learning that it was our wedding anniversary,kindly and secretly arranged for a locally sourced card for me , had a Sri Lankan love poem added to it , and a surprise cake in our room! Thanks Nikini - that was really appreciated! And to do all that on your 18th birthday- shows the level of customer care you can expect at the Cinnamon !

Very nice rooms, good beds, great breakfast and buffet selection, staff great. Nice little touches like the reception on arrival. Special mention for Harshika at the front desk. Really helpful and attentive. Also the pool attendant was very helpful and lovely. Also chef on Sri Lankan section was very nice and delicious food. Lovely lady making hoppers too. Always there either a smile.

Spa treatment was not great. 1 hour on a wrap where they covered you in lotion for 20 mins, then came in and told you to wash it off in a cold shower. This was not a treatment! Beach is nice but the rubbish left on it really is not. Also if you request a sea view it would be nice if you could actually see it!

beautifully sculpted area with two pools and beach access. From the main area and downstairs restaurant you also have a great view on the Bentota Ganga. The staff is very friendly and helpful

The pricing is a bit too high (this is Sri Lanka and not Singapore for instance where you can book the Marina Bay sands for almost the same). Also they allow the guest to occupy the outside beds with towels for the rest of the day without seeing anybody using them accordingly. You would expect this at a cheap inclusive place. Just instruct people to take the towels with them otherwise remove them.

Good clean rooms with excellent and attentive housekeeping staff (Oshanda and Naranda). Excellent cocktails in both the beach bar and the main bar. Beautiful location with wonderful rooms and good food.

We were travelling with an individual with allergies - we communicated this to check in staff when asked about dietary requirements however it became apparent that this had not been communicated to kitchen staff. Kitchen and restaurant staff were extremely accommodating following us informing of the dietary requirements however this was after the meals had already been prepared and therefore the selection was very limited.
