We had a stay in dec 2023 . The resort is beautiful. The rooms were large, clean, well setup. We were welcomed with a traditional band of flute and drum.We had the room facing the beach and pool. The hospitality by staffs were good. Had their buffet dinner and breakfast. A wide spread of buffet , totally value for money

They had a cultural show during my stay there , however it was held at 8pm, I think the timing should be adjusted as that is preferably time for dinner as well. There was also a brief dance show at the pool side, I manged to see from my balcony, I wish I was informed on the show so I could have a better view Even so I loved my stay

beautifully sculpted area with two pools and beach access. From the main area and downstairs restaurant you also have a great view on the Bentota Ganga. The staff is very friendly and helpful

The pricing is a bit too high (this is Sri Lanka and not Singapore for instance where you can book the Marina Bay sands for almost the same). Also they allow the guest to occupy the outside beds with towels for the rest of the day without seeing anybody using them accordingly. You would expect this at a cheap inclusive place. Just instruct people to take the towels with them otherwise remove them.

The hotel has a superb location on extensive grounds between the river and the beach. The beach is a very long stretch of fine sand, no stones, no corals. Beautiful sunsets. The hotel is also close to shops (the gem shop Aida is great) and restaurants. We enjoyed the complementary yoga by the river (put mosquito spray if in the evening). Breakfast is excellent, we loved the fresh coconuts. Good gym. Staff is great, whenever we asked for something, it was immediately executed (except for the bath salts ;) ) Thumbs up for Nilan at the cashier desk.

Almost no plugs in the room. One day, our water and coffee/tea were not replenished. There were bath salts on the first day, never again (even though we asked for more). Staff (esp. cleaning) were a little pushy for tips.

It was a two hour drive from Colombo and half way to Galle. The property is spacious with both estuary and beach frontages. The breakfast and dinner choices are most extensive and high quality. There is an enormous number of staff doing cleaning, gardening, table service and customer support. Maja of customer relations was particularly helpful and prompt when we asked for a two hour delay of our checkout time.

The only criticism I can make is 1. that the table service staff were too attentive constantly asking if we were okay and offering help. 2. We stayed in a Poolside room where the furniture could have benefited from some refurbishment. 3. There were never enough sun lounges on the beach so I dragged one from the pool area to the beach each day 4. The external paths were muddy after rain and there was no direct path from our room to the dining area. These were all minor inconveniences which did not spoil our enjoyable stay.

This is one of our favourite hotels in Sri Lanka. The layout of the gardens, between the sea and the lagoon, is magnificent. Geoffrey Bawa chose this spot very carefully and the new wings have been integrated well. Even if there are many guests, you can still retain a certain privacy because the grounds are so extensive. We particularly enjoyed a curated tour by Sanduni de Fonseka who has specialised in the work of the Bawa brothers and the art works on display - by, amongst others, Laki Senanayake and Barbara Sansoni. High-quality food. We have been to this hotel several times, and our overall experience, as always, was excellent.

From the moment we arrived to the truly stunning architecture and the lovely hospitality of the resort manager, we knew it would be an unforgettable stay. Three gorgeous pools - expansive, sparkling with natural rock features - offered us the perfect spot to unwind whilst we were soaking up the sun! Whilst relaxing by the pool we also enjoyed the surrounding lush greenery and view of the ocean - a perfect paradise! Breakfast was delightful, fresh ingredients and exquisite flavours, with local and European options. The food was of the highest quality, each meal felt like a special occasion! The highlight of the entire stay was Hasith who offered truly exceptional service. Incredibly attentive and genuinely cared about making our stay so special. He organised an unforgettable anniversary dinner at their steak restaurant and also a fantastic day trip. It was so clear that guest satisfaction is top priority for them. We felt so relaxed and happy by the end of our stay, a truly luxurious getaway that catered to families marvellously. We can’t wait to return! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ❤️

Had a mixed experience at this hotel. It started off poorly after a long day of travel — we arrived in the evening and were given a room that was clearly a lower category than what I had booked. I later found out it was actually half the price of what I paid, and the staff weren’t upfront about it. They were fully booked, which I understand, but the lack of transparency was disappointing. That said, things turned around the next day after I spoke with the manager on duty. They handled it professionally, upgraded us to a suite instead of the luxury sea view room we had originally booked, and even deducted the cost of a lunch we had. From that point on, the stay was amazing.

The location is amazing and the facilities are also very good. The rooms are spacious and the balconies are huge. The staff was amazing. We ordered pizzas at the pool bar and after more than an hour we were told that our order was missed. Later in the evening we were contacted by the executive chef of the resort who apologized for this and invited us to the restaurant for complimentary pizzas. We went there and he personally came to apologise again and treated us like royalty. This shows how much they care for the satisfaction of their customers.

1. We had requested for an early check in at the time of our booking as our flight arrived early in the morning. However, we were made to wait at least 4-5 hours at the facility before we moved to our rooms. To be fair to them, they had informed us that early check-in depended on availability of the rooms. 2. The furniture is old and accessories especially the lamps need replacement. 3. The whole building had only one lift which made moving around a bit inconvenient. 4. We opted for sea view but there was no sea view as it was all covered with the trees. We asked the staff to move us to sea view and we were told that we opted for "Sea Front" and not "Sea View". This was a bit disappointing.

We stayed at Cinnamon Bentota Beach Hotel from August 12th to 14th, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel is situated in a stunning location that offers breathtaking views and a tranquil environment—truly a perfect getaway. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Special mention goes to Sulochana and Deshan, who made our stay even more memorable. Traveling with two kids aged 3 and 9, we had specific needs, and both Sulochana and Deshan went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Their attention to detail and genuine care were remarkable, and we were consistently impressed by their brilliant customer service. The facilities at the hotel are modern and well-maintained, offering all the comforts you could wish for. The rooms were spotless, with everything clean and tidy, making our stay very comfortable. And then there’s the food—simply amazing! Every meal was a delight, with a wide variety of dishes that were all excellently prepared and presented. The dining experience alone is worth the visit. Overall, Cinnamon Bentota Beach Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. We can't wait to return!

We recently stayed at the hotel for seven nights, and I must say, it was a delightful experience for my family, including our two small children, aged 3 and 5. Although we encountered two days of rain during our stay, the incredible hospitality and thoughtful efforts of the staff truly made up for it. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering activities to keep the kids entertained even on rainy days. Every interaction was warm and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The hotel facilities were exceptional—clean, well-maintained, and family-friendly, with plenty of options for both relaxation and entertainment. From the child-friendly pool to the spacious and cozy rooms, everything was designed with families in mind. We also appreciated the variety of dining options, which catered to both adults and picky little eaters alike. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a memorable family getaway. Rain or shine, this place will ensure you have a wonderful stay!
