Budget guest house run by the grandparents, the bedroom and bathroom was spacious, jungle views from the terrace with a family of monkeys nearby. The grandson is the resident tuk tuk driver, but prices fluctuate, If you struggle with mobility, it's probably not the place for you 36 steep steps to the room, it's a trek to get to the main road, very narrow and very hilly track that only tuk tuks can navigate, getting a tuk tuk back to the guest house was a problem during the day and evening, the driver's didn't want to navigate the difficult track.

Hosts are very nice and helpful! I felt like at the hotel: the room was spotless, spacious and comfortable (large bed with good mattress and pillows, mosquito net and a fan) with a nice private balcony to enjoy breakfast watching the surrounding nature ; the bathroom has hot water and all the necessary toiletries. Bonus: mini fridge, kettle and tea. The location make it easy to go to the main road walking, while being a bit down the road to avoid the noise. Very good value for money! I really enjoyed my stay :)

This place is a little gem! The room is newly decorated and the same goes for the bathroom. Aircon and Wi-Fi are working great. Everything is spotless clean and super comfortable. You wake up in paradise and breakfast is just delicious. But moreover is the courtesy and kindness of the hosts that makes the difference. We have been treated with gloves, we couldn't ask for more. The location is excellent for exploring Ella and the surroundings but in a quiet corner of the town. And they also offer an exceptional car service to move around and/or to your next destination. I cannot recommend more this place, the best stay we had in Sri Lanka!!!

Incredible setting away from the main road in the soothing noise and wildlife of the jungle. Lovely terrace overlooking the jungle with massive room and bathroom. Great to have a fridge to store water and fresh fruit. Very quiet and super friendly staff who were accommodating and very helpful to sort transport for our next destination and recommend local activities. Thank you so much - wee had a great time!

Towels could have been a bit cleaner - other than that can’t fault it, we loved it here.

Simple but spotlessly clean & comfortable room with a large terrace. The owners are very sweet and serve your breakfast on your private terrace. It's a very quiet location a 5 minute walk to the main street, which is great because Ella town centre is lively at night.

The only drawback is if like me you packed way more clothes than you need, you need a tuk tuk for your luggage. I wouldn't recommend this property for people with mobility issues as the property has lots of steps. For everyone else I 100% recommend staying here.

The hotel is bright, clean, and incredibly comfortable. Our room had a spacious and cozy balcony, which was a wonderful addition to our stay. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and left us looking forward to each morning. The hostess was exceptionally kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

I stayed at Duet Hearts in Feb 2025. The host was one of the kindest persons I’ve met. The room was spacious and clean. The best: a breath-taking view of the valley, especially during dawn and dusk. Sitting on the patio looking over the valley was my favorite thing to do while at Duet Hearts.

Although it was only 10 minutes walk to Ella Main Street, it involves a few steep climbs on very narrow country road. And internet connection was intermittent at best.

The room was clean and nice with a big balcony. The host met us and was very welcoming and polite. The place is on the hill so you can enjoy a nice view from the bed. We enjoyed this place.

Before booking you have to know that there is no road for a car to go straight to the hotel. You can either walk or go by tuk tuk, it’s around 500 meters from the main the road. It was not a problem for us as they arranged a tuk tuk to pick us up from the main road.

The owner's father was very nice and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

The pictures on booking don't reflect the reality. Our biggest problem is that on top of the terrace doors are windows without glass and we could hear all the sounds from exterior, expecially dogs barking all night long, and from 5 am prayers from the near stupa. 🤯 The rooms are not very clean as we found spiderwebs. The refrigerator was not clean and smelled very bad. There is mold on baths walls and even I saw more comments with this problem , they didn't fix it. The road to the accomodation is very narrow and it can not be reached by car. You have to transfer your luggages in a tuk tuk and pay for the trip on both ways, because the transfer is not suported by the host.

Duet hearts is very close to the centre, however it is in a wooded area, with no street lights which is fine during the day but at night you're relying on tuk tuks to get you around. The room was immaculate and it is decorated beautifully, the staff were really helpful and the breakfast on the terrace is a nice touch.

More towels would have been good as we only had 1 each. We were only staying 1 night, which wasn't a problem, but maybe provide a hand towel in future.
