The views and location were amazing, away from the noise and main street but only a 5 min walk to central Ella through tropical green lanes. Our host Madhu and her family were lovely, we had our laundry done one morning, back by afternoon. Madhu’s husband is a tuk tuk driver and kindly took us out to a tea plantation for an afternoon. Breakfast was home cooked and delicious. A wonderful stay, highly recommended!

Accommodation was a little tired in places but nothing to change the wonderful welcoming stay we had. Not a negative for us but steep steps down to accommodation may be difficult for some.

Super cosy place with jungle around and a view to Ella rock. Just a short walking distance to the main road (centre), to little Adam‘s peak and the nine arch bridge (and very quiet in the night). Madhu was super nice and helped us a lot with arranging tuktuks and taxis. She has a laundry service as well - clothes came back with a really good smell! Breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Our host spoke great English, communicated well on what's app, cooked a delicious dinner for a small fee. The view is wonderful and the fireflies at night. Her young daughter was a regular visitor who played with my son. Lovely to see the whole family supporting this project. Got washing done. Two resident frogs in the shower.

For the price it's wonderful we even had hot water. I would guess most people will complain about the bathroom that it needs painting or more natural light but honestly for this budget and her service just support a small business owner

Accomodation has super location, walking distance to the center, but in the nature, with beautiful view and garden. Owner was very nice and helpful through our whole visit. She helped us with our trip planning, laundry and prepared for us delicious breakfast with different types of exotic fruits from her garden. Thank you!

There were some ants and frog in the bathroom, but you should count with it while staying in the nature, its worth it. Shower tap would probably need fixing.

We had a very good time at Madhu's Hidden Gem Inn in Ella! Madhu is a very friendly, caring person! Assisted by her son, she prepares some fantastic breakfast and dinner and serves it all with the sweetest smile. Madhu's husband is a taxi driver, so our onward journey to Tissamaharama was cared for very well! Thank you so much for everything! And many, many greetings to Elli the dog 🐕, whom we miss already ...We recommend everbody coming to Ella to stay at Hidden Gem Inn!

Lovely host who made us breakfast to suit our dietary needs (allergies). Excellent location close to the town center and attractions like Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam's Peak. Very quiet, sleep with just the sound of birds and crickets

Very hidden place with the most beautiful view. We had our own little hut with a private terrace where we were served delicious breakfast in the morning. The lady took good care of us and was super friendly and caring.

The shower worked but it definitely needs fixing.

Beautiful location, only ten minute walk to the centre but hidden in nature. Super quiet so you only hear the animals. Owner is super nice and attentive. Lovely breakfast and if you like she can prepare diner as well!

The room was comfortable and neat. The host can cook good food for you. The location was inside the village but the view from the room was awesome so you can afford this room.
