My recent stay at The Castle by Dion Louis Kandy in Sri Lanka was an absolute treat, leaving me with an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped into the resort, I was greeted with warm hospitality that instantly made me feel at home. The staff's genuine friendliness and attentiveness were truly commendable, making my stay even more enjoyable. The resort's location was undoubtedly one of its highlights. Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Sri Lanka, my room offered panoramic views of the mist-covered mountains and the serene beauty of the nearby tea plantations. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the gentle sunlight peeking through my window was a rejuvenating experience in itself. The Suite was cozy, elegantly designed, and well-equipped with modern amenities that catered to my every need. The attention to detail in the room's décor, along with the plush bedding and soothing colour palette, created a calming and inviting ambiance that made me reluctant to leave. The culinary offerings at the resort's restaurant were equally impressive. I relished every meal, as the chefs skilfully crafted a diverse array of traditional Sri Lankan dishes as well as international cuisines. The fresh, locally sourced ingredients added an authentic touch to every dish, and the courteous staff made every dining experience delightful and memorable. In conclusion, The Castle by Dion Louis provided an exceptional blend of luxury, natural beauty, and warm hospitality, making it a perfect escape for anyone seeking a serene and rejuvenating vacation in the heart of Sri Lanka. We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment, which was perfect for our family and very comfortable. That said, the rooms in the main castle looked even more luxurious in comparison. We were kindly offered one but chose the apartment for the extra space. Next time, we’d love to try staying in one of the rooms to enjoy that extra touch of charm and style.

The crew is really amazing. They took care of us like we were princesses in a castle 😁. The were waiting for us at the entrance of the castle to welcome us en bring our backpacks to our room. Nothing was too much and the made us two delicious diners en two fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed it on our own terrace with a stunning view over the mountains of Kandy. We had the suite and that suite is highly reccomanded. Beautiful view and really clean. The most perfect place till now for us. The owner brought us to the railway station early in the morning by car. That was very nice. Thx for taking care of us and when we visit Kandy again we will come back.

Great hospitality! Incredibly beautiful views from the top of the hill! The children's playground was very safe for such a height. The pool was very nice and cooling, because otherwise it was very hot for us in Kandy. The meals were specially prepared for us, because fortunately there were not many people in the restaurant. Special thanks to Viswhua, who helped us with everything at the hotel and also gave us a fantastic day tour of the Kandy area as a guide. Viswhua is smart and speaks very fluent English. Thank you! We spent 3 memorable days and 2 nights in Kandy and at The Castle by Don Louis hotel.

The staff were absolutely brilliant, very attentive & friendly. The dining area was very nice with a great view, we had breakfast & evening meal both nights & both were excellent & very reasonably priced.

Unfortunately we didn’t get the room we had booked, we were very disappointed with the room given to us but the hotel was fully booked & so we were offered a significant discount which we accepted. The room was nicely decorated and clean but it was very dark & was below the kitchen & dining area & consequently there it was noisy, especially early in the morning when they were preparing breakfast. The pool area is nice but there were only 2 Sun loungers & they didn’t have cushions. Although there are some negatives here I would like to reiterate how brilliant the staff were!

My wife & I stayed at the Castle for 3 nights & our overall experience was terrific! From the moment we arrived, the staff could not do enough for us. When the showed us to our room we were blown away, great size with panoramic views over Kandy city. Great air conditioning, super bathroom. The food in the restaurant was really good & particular, the breakfast is top class! What was so good was, that if we wanted food that was not on the menu, just ask & the will Make given time. Some people of note, Ashiru, was a great young lad who looked after us so well in the restaurant during our stay. Kumesh the manager was very good, he made sure that everything was really smooth for us. Vishwa the hotel driver was very good at getting us to where we wanted to go at a reasonable price. Finally Koshi, the owner of the Castle, was wonderful! She spent time chatting with us & getting to know us, which was very nice. She also took time out of her busy schedule, to take us to her favourite spa, where we all got very nicely pampered. Thank you for that Koshi 😁 5 stars all around.

Everything was fab!

This place is a perfect example how a person can make the whole experience amazing. In this case it was the owner- Koshali. She was solving problems quickly and was extremely professional. I couldn’t help to ask her if she’s used to work at some high-end resort, but she said that she hasn’t. So the experience was as in 5 stars hotel, the room had clean towels, toiletries, hair dryer, a kettle, cups and glasses, small fridge, coffee and tea.. and the views were stunning! The water in the pool was cool, but clean and I enjoyed a swim in the morning. I’d highly recommend this place, as I’ m definitely going to return there myself! Thank you so much for the great service!

Sweet, family-run guest house that, indeed, reminds a bit of a castle. Sunset views are fantastic, also from our room (the suite is upstairs unlike the other rooms) and we loved how caring the staff was. They even prepared some Sri Lankan dishes for us to taste that were not on the menu on our last day. Also, they helped us get train tickets to Ella at an affordable price (don't buy these overpriced ones online beforehand from dodgy providers). Thank you also for the early check-in after our long night flight, much appreciated!

Located a bit remotely in the hills, you might find it tough at times to arrange transport (tuktuk) spontaneously to go to town. Room service at least once in 4 days would have been appreciated to keep everything clean. The regular (international) food on the menu of the restaurant was so so, we didnt understand why they don't go for more Sri Lankan curries etc.

The breakfast and food in general here was great there is a lovely menu - all Freshly cooked - the chef let me watch him cook our dinner one evening - amazing . We are in Sri Lanka for 20 days after waiting 23 years to come and if I knew what I know I would start and finish at the castle - we were supposed to stay 2 nights only but had to extent our stay here. Koshali and her husband who own this place make the stay so memorable in this amazing cultural and fun city. They speak perfect English having lived there and are able to explain so much I didn’t know . To see a little of Kandy - you could spend a lot longer here - they can help and explain . They have a local tick Tuk driver - come part time actor - who can sort everything . If you require something they don’t have someone will get it for you.

Nothing I didn’t like

The hotel was really nice, the family incredibly friendly, helping us in various aspects, going out of their way that we enjoy everything from the food to the Kandy experience. Very much recommended
