We've stayed here before, so knew what to expect. Booked a deluxe this time, and you could see the improvement from a standard. The bathroom, the fridge, the bed with mosquito net, and the balcony were all splendid.

Although the breakfasts were filling, they got a bit repetitive towards the end of our 7 night stay. The family was nice, but the host didn't seem to have time for us. Her demeanour didn't match the expectations you might have, givens the nane of the place.We like to engage more. The host was a bit stingy with tea bags for the room.

We felt so comfortable here that we extended our stay twice. The lady of the house in particular took great care of us, but her husband and children were also always friendly to us. The varied breakfast was really delicious - the best dhal I've eaten in two months in Sri Lanka! 😊 We also could use the laundry service on request (also recommended, our laundry came back clean and smelling good!). The family was also so kind to provide us with a very good lunch free of charge after the whale-watching tour, because we missed breakfast😊 The next time we are in Mirissa, we will definitely stay at the Resort of Happiness again! Value for money more than reasonable.

Location - a 5minute walk to the main beach where there are loads of bars, cafés and places offering surfboard hire and day trips. If you walk the other way down the road, it takes you to the main road where there are more shops, restaurants, and banks, and you can get the bus to Weligama for 50rupees per person. You can walk to Coconut Tree Hill along the beach in about 25 minutes. Our room - was spacious with a nice big comfortable bed. Towels were provided and the bathroom was a good size with a hot shower and air con. We also had a kettle and a fridge which was very handy for boiling water, then once it had cooled down, we popped it in the fridge so we saved a little bit on constantly buying bottled water. Breakfast - was cooked fresh every morning and served from Dilke's (the host) house just in front of the guest house. It was nice and varied; there would be a traditional Sri Lankan option, either dhal with roti, string hoppers with potatoe curry and coconut sambol, and an omlette. We also had rolled pancakes and fresh fruit along with tea/coffee. It was plentiful and set you up for the day. The staff - a big thankyou to Dilke who was a lovely host. She offers a laundry service and has a scooter which you can rent for the day - both services were very reasonably priced! We only planned to stay for 3 nights but ended up staying an extra night because we felt so at home.

Only 2 minor things. There was quite heavy rain the day we arrived and the path down to the guest house flooded and was quite muddy. There was another entrance the host said we could use, which went behind their house, so we used that. Also the aircon was a bit intermittent amd would sometimes cut out during the night. Apart from those things, it was all good.

The host is very nice and will go out of her way to make your stay great. Close to the beach but far enough away so that you don't hear any loud music at all. The breakfast is maybe the best breakfasts we had during our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka! The room was very spacious and had a really good balcony. Big fridge freezer too which is a nice to have. It was my partner's birthday during our stay and the host even went to get a cake for her birthday breakfast at very short notice which made it a very special start to the day! Thanks again!

Not much

The rooms were so spacious and clean and the beds were so comfy! We were welcomed with a welcome drink, and the Sri Lankan breakfast was so delicious - the host even provided it for us after an early morning trip to go Whale watching in Mirissa. I'd definitely recommend as a clean, comfy, friendly place to stay while visiting the coast. It's close to shops and amenities and the main road. The host was so lovely :-)

One day the water wasn't quite getting hot enough - but other than that, no complaints at all. Better than I expected from even the photos!

This was probably the best place to stay in the entire Srí Lanka. The room was quite big with a balcony and stunning sunset views and garden. I really appreciate multiple sockets as in some other places I have encountered only one socket, which was really bad to charge multiple electronic devices. The location is perfect, it's close to the beach and town center. The hospitality of the owner was amazing. She brought me 2 bottles of water and a welcome drink. I will miss those breakfasts so much. I recommend staying in this place so bad that I wish to come back.

Great location with walking distance to the beach and main road in town. Rooms are well equipped with everything you need. There is also a fridge. If you want you can also take a hot shower. The A/C is working well and there is fan also if you dont want A/C during the night. Breakfast is just great! We loved it. We extended the stay for two more nights during our stay without any problem. The host family is verly lovely and take care of you. They help with restaurant and where to go suggestions. We would book here agsin! Thank you so much for everything!

Room number 106 with terrace. Equipment okay, fridge, air conditioning, step fan a little noisy, kettle, table, wardrobe with mirror. Bathroom average, but okay. Close to the city, beach and bus stop. Off the main road. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff okay, basic communication. Room clean, nice.

There is a new hotel being built behind the accommodation, so there was some noise. It was quiet at night. Next to room 106 there was a room with a broken door, which was very noisy when someone opened it - it creaked very loudly.

The property is in a great location, close to shops, restaurants, and the beaches. Mirissa is quite small anyway so everything is walkable. The room itself was spotless and very spacious and has a balcony I enjoyed sitting on. There was a fridge in the room which was useful to keep drinks cold and there was also tea and coffee and a kettle which was nice. The owners were also friendly and check in and out were very smooth.

The only minor thing I have to say is that on my first night it rained a lot and quite a lot of water came through under one of the doors in my room. I noticed quickly so moved my bag and put a towel down so it wasn’t a major issue, nothing to stop me recommending the place. Just maybe a note to the owner that it would be great to fix this issue :)

Very comfortable with a very good price-quality ratio. The bed is big and comfortable, the room is quite spacious, with a mosquito net, A/C and fan. Besides, the mosquito net was already down when I arrived, thus reducing the possibility of having mosquitos already flying in the bed space. There's a power connection next to the bed, which is helpful if you need to charge your phone while laid down. There's hot water for shower. The location is close to the beach (5 min walk), close to a supermarket and several ATMs (which you'll need to pay). Very nice amd humble owners, which were very helpful because they have a tuk tuk which ended up taking me to Hiriketiya for a very good price. It was a pleasure!
