We got two family rooms which were huge. They were very comfortable. The pool was awesome - especially with my 4 year old. They were very polite and friendly. Very good massage services too.

Looks like the staff needs to be trained on service better. They are eager to do a good job, but quite inexperienced. Also - while ordering at the bar/restaurant, they didn't give a bill to sign even though they say it will be added to my room. I just found that a bit odd. The appliances and electric sockets were mismatched (Euro plug/Type D plug appliance but only Type C socket), so we needed adaptors for everything, including the installed hair dryer in the bathroom)

The hotel is well located just a short walk from the famous beach of Mirissa, but very quiet and relax. All around the other structures and hotels seem to be of a lower level and there are a few construction side or houses that seem abandoned, so this hotel really stands out from the rest. We didn’t have the chance to enjoy the pool, but with the beach so close you don’t need it that much! The staff was friendly overall.

The lady at the reception was polite but not very genuine. She was keep trying to sell us services or experiences. Comparing to other places we stayed during our trip we didn’t feel any warmth and the overall vibe was more business oriented. Breakfast was pretty terrible, one of the worst of your trip!

Perfect stay - location, staff, rooms 10/10 🙌🏻 Firstly we were very confused on where to stay on the coastline, so we don’t miss anything. That’s why we booked here only one night, but loved it so much we returned for our last night. Definitely get a room with a view on the pool (we had 206) because it is a hidden paradise 😍 Mirissa is very chaotic, with loots of tourists, parties, restaurants,…and if you (like us) are not a fan of that and like a good night sleep then this is your paradise to book! You’re still very close to main street (10min walking), restaurants and the beach but you return to the room and have a good night sleep ❤️ Staff and the owner are lovely, helpful and take good care of the guests. Breakfast is very good, with lots of different choices. But to be honest I would not recommend lunch or dinner here, there are many other options near and the hotel is (not yet) the best for preparing one…

- Staff were all lovely and more than willing to help with anything you need. Carried suitcases for us and also gave us drinks on arrival. - Room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and water. - Bed was comfy. - Location was great - in walking distance to Weligama beach & Secret Beach but it was nice enough distance away that it was lovely and quiet rather than on the beach that played music, etc. - Pool area was nice with sunbeds and pool bar.

Priyanga was very lovely and gave us a detailed rundown about the area and excursion options. The beach is a short walk away and lots of good eateries in the area. The pool area is great and the breakfast had some good options. The room was a good size and the balcony was nice. Our room was made up each day with fresh towels.

Like in other places we have stayed, the hot water in the shower is temperamental, seems common across Sri Lanka. You can find cheaper transport options. Bring cash for room payment as we were slightly overcharged with card.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Handagedare Resort Mirissa. The staff were consistently motivated to assist us, and the food was excellent. The chef ensured that our culinary preferences were met, and we particularly enjoyed the buffet breakfast featuring tropical fruits. The room was superb—spacious, airy, and impeccably clean—with a powerful air conditioning system and high-speed internet connection. Everything about this resort was amazing. I highly recommend staying here; it’s conveniently close to the beach without any disruptive beach noises. The pool is also fantastic.

We booked 8 standard rooms for a group. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. They resolved all issues as quickly as possible and was very helpful. I liked the room i was in and it was comfortable. It was great that someone came to clean the room everyday. Pool was clean and it was perfect for a dip and a drink from the bar. The location of the hotel was very good as it was 5 minutes walk to the beach.

There were minor issues but they were resolved very quickly. There was some issues with electricity for an hour or so on the first day. One of the rooms had an issue with water when the AC was switched off. All the walls including the roof had water sweating. This meant some of the items in the room were wet. But the night staff cleaned the room and changed the bedding as soon as possible to resolve the situation. I would have preferred to see prices in the menu in Sri Lankan rupees rather than dollars ( we were able to pay in SLR)
