Fantastic setting in one of the most beautiful bay of the south. We were lucky to have been given a sea. View room for our first night as our booking which was for a city view room wasn't available ~the sea view room is amazing but very pricey for the area. Breakfast was very pleasant and good choices. It's a small property but they have nice sun lounges in place~staff are friendly!!

City room very small and noisy fine for 1 or 2 nights maximum ~not relaxing can't swing a cat really. Be aware when signing in~they quote euros or $ on Booking.com but when you arrive they exchange that to local currency which is fair enough~what isn't fair is that they use their tourist rate of exchange as if you are buying or selling foreign currency ~this is out of order as they are in effect charging you 8~10% more ~I put a stop to this and quoted the exact $dollar market rate to charge~in their irratation at this they charged me 4% because I used a card ~again this has not happened anywhere else in Sri Lanka so be aware~this small hotel is expensive to start with without these attempted add ons

Great view from top floor

I didn't like the fact that I wasn't charged the correct price ( over charged 150.00). Booking .com advertising free genius upgrade of room. We got charged full price by hotel ! I wouldn't have booked this place at this price. How fighting to gey my 150.00 pounds returned. Disgusting booking.com. Now getting Barclays Bank involved as I have all evidence and 100per in the right.. Very bad management not sorting their advertising wirh booking.com properly , especially with not cancelling option Totally spoilt our stay.

Magnificent room overlooking the sea. Beautiful pool and a few steps down to the beach.

The stay was soured at the end when they tried to charge us 20% more than we were supposed to be charged. This was constructed with various surcharges they couldn't explain and an exchange rate which was way off. The walk to the main Marissa beach is relatively short but involves climbing over rocks and some very heavy sandy beaches.

The stay was incredible we were so lucky to get the chance to stay in this beautiful hotel me and my best friend, the location is walking distance to anywhere bars resturents and the beach , the view while having breakfast just breathtaking, fully ocean view even our room was like little heaven super clean comfy the bed was so comfy , everyone was kind and friendly and really helpful it's really safe area we were so happy and comfortable to be walking around the spa just next door the yoga centre also just next door grocery and anything you need just from this beautiful location it's only few minutes, the breakfast was soo good fresh fruits was sooo tasty, the staff our favourite sweetheart Damith he was like our angel he toke care of us with everything helping with lagguge , breakfast anything we need he can just do it in a minute , wait for us to be back at night to the hotel by the reception he is an angel , Naseem who were really helpful at the reception And the house keeping guy amf his smile everytime we meet him , he was cleaning our room everyday making sure it's super clean and provide new towels and water everyday anytime , the stay overall was more than amazing and we wasn't expected to be that lucky to stay in a such place and meet such kind people during or first visit to mirissa thank you for taking care of us, and definitely visiting again your hotel 🥰

I was a bit worried after I booked this place and read the bad reviews,especially the stories about being overcharged so I came prepared with USD in cash and I strongly suggest you do the same,as if you pay by card they add a surcharge and try to use a bad exchange rate and in the end we would end up paying around 10% more if we didn’t prepare which is crazy. We also upgraded to both rooms with sea view and again, I strongly suggest you do this. Check the map, the property is right next to rhe main road. The other rooms are really loud. We had two rooms on the same floor with balconies connected. Super comfortable. So in the end, with this in mind we had a great stay really. I was worried we would have a bad experience but it ended up being one of our favourites on this trip. The location is great ,with a beautiful view on the sea and the coconht hill. Amazing sunsets at the balcony. The rooms are actually beautiful with quality furniture. It is reallyclean.The guys working there are super nice,unlike some reviews mention. The only downside is everything outside the rooms is not well maintained. It’s like two opposite worlds, beautiful 4 star rooms and 2 star pool and horrible lounge chairs. My mom also fell down the stairs by the pool as they are super slippery. All that said I still think it’s a great options because of the views and the comfy rooms and we liked the location.

My mum slipped by the pool. The whole pool area is not maintained well. The lounge chairs are the worst and really uncomfortable.

Me and my wife had an amazing five-night stay at Sea Boutique Hotel and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Choosing to pay extra for the sea-view rooms was absolutely worth it. Even though there is a busy road, you can’t really hear any traffic noise from inside the room, only the relaxing sound of the waves. You could even enjoy the sea view from the shower. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and everything was clean. The service was exceptional, with a special thanks to Nassim, Damith and the rest of the staff who always greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to make our stay special. You truly made the final part of our Sri Lanka trip unforgettable.

The only thing to remark on was the WiFi, which was unstable. However, this was not a problem for us since we had a cellular package.

The location on the beach was amazing, easy to walk around and a great view. The pool was lovely, and there was enough of beach loungers. The breakfast and housekeeping staff were absolutely lovely, they treated us with kindness and were always ready to help. Breakfast was exceptional. After walking around beach in Mirissa the hotel seemed to have the best location. We stayed in a street view room, and the road noice didn't bother us.

Upon arrival, our first room was mouldy, that much that sleeping there was very unpleasant. The staff moved us onto another room the next day, which had no issues, so we were very happy for fast assistance. So if possible, request a room from the highest floor. The manager seemed unpleasant, and we were not very comfortable around him, nor did the staff. He also tried to charge the room with higher exchange rate than the real one given by the bank each day, but upon bringing this up and asking to use the daily rate he did agree to calculate and charge it correctly. I was quite prepared after reading reviews, so this seems to be quite a regular thing. I'd say if the hotel could get a manager who is more into customer service rather than money making the place would be perfect.

Property is very nice … It has everything you need with a private beach

At the time of check out they will force you to pay by cash and if you pressure them to pay by card they will take some exchange rate which you will not find anywhere + 4% extra

Location is perfect - 5 minutes walk to coconut tree hill and there are many restaurants nearby. It is also a 5 minute tuk tuk ride away to more touristy / party areas in Mirissa. Staff are so friendly and goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. We arranged a tour to Udawalawe National Park through the hotel, and we had a super convenient experience (especially as we requested to be dropped off to the Colombo Airport after the safari tour). Nassim was exceptionally friendly as well. We had the city room view - it was slightly smaller compared to the ocean view rooms but we were happy with it for its value.

Our room on the second floor was spacious and had beautiful glass doors to a balcony overlooking the sea. The road noise could only be heard in our bathroom, on the stairs and the reception areas - and this was actually a charming reminder that we were in Asia. If staying here, you must ask for a sea facing room. If would be quite unpleasant if facing the road.

On first arrival, we were a bit concerned as the hotel is open to a very busy road, and has a small unimpressive reception area.
