Our stay at Somerset Mirissa Beach Hotel was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The location is unbeatable — just steps away from the beach, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were exceptional, always friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The food was delicious, with a great variety to suit different tastes, and the service was fast and efficient. Whether it was relaxing by the beach, enjoying the fresh sea breeze, or simply unwinding in the cozy ambiance of the hotel, every moment was delightful. I would highly recommend Somerset Mirissa Beach Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway in Mirissa.

A lovely room on the third floor looking out onto the sea. One would almost think you were in paradise. Access to the beach is no longer direct clearly some access issue means you now have to walk a wee bit further out the front along the main road and down an alley way but it really is no hardship.

There are downsides to paradise: The noisy generator powering the beach bar on the beach directly behind the hotel which kicked off at 8am and powered down at 11pm. If you got used to the noise there was the fumes to contend with that depending on wind direction could blow straight into your room. I appreciate none of this is the fault of the hotel but something the guests have to suffer. Also a lot of properties this end of the resort suffer from foul smelling drains / soil pipes. Once again not the fault of the hotel but if you don't have your balcony windows open to suffer that generator noise and fumes your room will stink of sewage!

I had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed the beautiful and calm environment, as well as the spacious and child-friendly rooms. The staff was absolutely amazing, and I want to specifically highlight Amila, who was in charge and incredibly helpful and supportive throughout my stay. From the security guard to the manager, everyone greeted me with a warm smile, which made the experience even more pleasant. The professionalism of the staff stood out, and the child-friendly atmosphere made it an ideal choice for families. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-managed stay. I’m already looking forward to visiting again next year!

Amazing location and great staff

Good size room and very clean! We had a balcony with sea views, the beach is honestly the best beach to swim in, it’s not busy, and the Tipsy Turtle Cafe is a perfect place to enjoy the sun, have a cocktail, and swim whilst enjoying the sunset. Such a great location not too far from the main centre, with a lot of options to eat close by. The staff are nice and welcoming & helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here, we extended our stay one extra night because it’s exactly what we wanted when coming to the south coast. We highly recommend staying here, it is great value for money.

A Wonderful Stay at Somerset Mirissa Beach Hotel My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and had a truly pleasant experience. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, especially when it came to my wife's vegetarian meal preferences — they happily made the necessary adjustments and ensured she was well taken care of. The staff were so lovely and welcoming to me, I only booked 5 minutes before arriving and in that time they had a room ready for me and brought me a cold juice when I got there (which was very unexpected but I was grateful as it was a hot day). The room had a nice view of the palm trees and beach, very clean and comfortable! Breakfast was good as well! I really enjoyed my brief stay and can't complain about anything!

The staff were exceedingly helpful and obliging. The breakfast was always fresh and appetizing. The room was clean and adequate for our needs.

Access to the beach had been closed off. There were apparently problems with passing through private land? Did not create a major concern.

Loved our stay here! The room was exactly as in the photos. It is very clean and comfy and the ocean view is insanely beautiful! The staff was helpful. They brought a private wifi router to our room, to have the strongest wifi connection. They gave us umbrellas when it was raining. It's so close to the beach. And the beach bar was so awesome. I was reading some of the bad reviews before coming here and was a bit worried, but the hotel turned out to be amazing! They have really improved on everything mentioned in the past. I would 100% stay here again.
