Rooms were huge and comfortable. Service in the restaurant for breakfast was excellent. Fully credit to Sahan for bringing all his experience from his years at the Marriott in Dubai and Colombo. Good location close to the main strip but far enough out to be peaceful. The restaurant and pool area are the highlights with a great view.

Restaurant opposite blasts out music in the evening at an uncomfortably loud volume, though it shuts at 10:30pm so it is quiet enough after that. You need to be aware that the hotel is still under construction, so only the seaview rooms and rooftop pool/restaurant are complete, however, this did not disturb our stay in the slightest so don't let it put you off!

Somerset Mirissa Blue hotel was excellent! The staff working here were exceptional! I was here with my husband, my 5 year old and 1 year old. All of the staff were very kind and accommodating and happy to help for whatever you needed. Buddi was very kind to us and gave us lots of great advice and helped us with our whole trip of Sri Lanka as Mirissa was our first stop. He helped us with great, tours, places to go, places to eat and taxis too. He looked after my family very well and we will never forget how much better he made our holiday. It’s a new hotel and very clean and looked after and the roof top pool is stunning! They were really accommodating at the restaurant too which was so helpful for us as my children are fussy eaters and they made it much easier for us. Thank you Somset for such a lovely stay.

Great location. Amazing pool with an ocean view. The room also offers an ocean view. Spacious room with a large bathroom. The best Wi-Fi we had during our entire trip to Sri Lanka.

There was no room cleaning for four days. The breakfast was disappointing, especially for a $100 hotel—instant coffee and 80% of the breakfast consisted of pastries. Some noise from the road, but that’s the trade-off for such a convenient location. It’s impossible to reach the reception after 10 p.m., and there was no blanket provided. After all, this is a hotel, not a guesthouse.

This place surprised us. The property was very new with quite modern facilities. The room was huge and the bathroom was excellent. The pool was amazing with views across the town and ocean. We were expecting something smaller and older, so this was a surprise. Breakfast was excellent. We ate at the restaurant at night as well and the food was authentic Sri Lankan and excellent as well.

Location was good, rooms very spacious, pool was excellent with fantastic view over the sea, food was good and staff were good

The door to our room didn’t shut properly, my husband had to pull it towards him to lock, I didn’t have the strength. I asked 4 times for extra pillows as we only had 1 each, but never got them so gave up in the end. There could have been more sun beds around the pool for people to lie on, and then they would have in turn used the bar facilities.

No one topped up tea and coffee or water at all. Bins not emptied wouldn't expect full room clean but it would have been nice to have our floor swept we stayed 5 nights, you try hard not to take sand back to the room but it is difficult to avoid

The infinity pool was insane. Really clean and specious room. Tasty breakfast. Wifi was fast as a road runner!

Large rooms with very effective air conditioning. Large bathroom with hot showers. Great location for local area - short walk to beach restaurants and local coffee places. Really nice staff who gave advice and information about places to visit in Sri Lanka and the history. Felt very safe with kind security guards out the front.

It had great views from the rooftop balcony-staff were amazing and the breakfast buffet had plenty too choose from

On our first night there was building works going on until April 4am-they we’re renovating the new spa but drilling went on from around 9.30pm until early hours of the morning on and off-and guest slammed doors so loud. This was a guest issue not the hotels
