The property was exquisite, the service impeccable, the interior showed rare antique pieces. Overall the perfect place to relax and unwind. The room - facing on the villa's terrace with ocean views - was decorated to perfection, the bed was extremely comfortable, the AC and Wi-Fi were high quality, and it had an amazing open bathroom with a private outdoor shower, that felt like showering in the rain in the jungle. All the amenities were top quality, and the design of the whole place was very thought through. It felt like being in the White Lotus of Sri Lanka.

The food was limited and expensive. I understand the pricing, given the standard and quality of this place, but I would have loved to see more variety and more local food options.

Our stay at Villa Space was absolutely beautiful. I have stayed in more expensive places but never any as lovely as Villa Space. Stunning room and bathroom with a grand deck out the front. Every piece was well thought out. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and the service was without fault. Nothing was too much trouble. I can’t recommend Villa Space enough. Actually, I can… the location! A two minute walk to a beautiful swimming beach.

It was such a delight to be there we didn’t explore the area much. We loved everything about the property.

The property was perched on the top of the hill with a gorgeous view of Unawatuna's bay. There was a long verandah outside the "living room" with chairs placed in thoughtful groups along its length. The living room was welcoming and the bedroom very comfortable. There was a pool set below the house which was very pleasant to spend time around. Breakfast was delicious.

The flight of stairs to the main living area was very long! The property wouldn't suit less mobile people. My bathroom was an indoor/outdoor arrangement with the shower in the private courtyard garden - it was lovely, but there were tons of mosquitoes. The swarming mosquito population extended to the living room. Think there should have been some mosquito management. The pool was pleasant, but it was a long walk up to the kitchen area to get water/refreshments - would be good to have refreshments available in the pool area.

We really loved the views, design and facilities at Villa Space. The rooms are lovely with designer touches and super comfortable beds, the decor would work equally well in an upscale beachside home anywhere however there were distinctly Sri Lankan furnishings. The view from the upstairs rooms 1 & 2 and the living room/veranda (available to all) is fabulous, this place is like staying at a stylish friend's house with staff. The food is definitely restaurant quality and, as per staying at a friend's house, you decide in the morning if you will be in dining in for lunch and/or dinner and the breakfast included in the rate was different every day with a great range of options both Sri Lankan and Western. The guys who serve meals/drinks and help you navigate your day are fabulous, both Supine and Dilshan particularly were fantastic, and nothing was ever too much of a bother.

There were only a few negatives at this lovely place. There is a very steep road to get to it and then around 60 stairs from the front gate to the Living room area, not for the faint hearted or anyone with a mobility issue, making you think twice about going for a walk. Mind you it doubled as a workout however there is a Tuk Tuk onsite to take you down to the shopping restaurant area of Unawatuna! Also, the tiles in the pool were quite slippery and in a couple of spots had sharp edges. The rainfall shower in Room 2 looks fabulous but didn't have sufficient water pressure when you are tyring to rinse shampoo out of thick hair, a hand held shower as well as the rainfall shower would make it ideal.

The place is stunning in every way , like something out of a bond film . It really is a place you can truly relax and forget about the outside world whilst still being able to observe it from afar . All fixtures and fittings are well designed and look great Pool area beautiful and full of nature ( monitor lizards , chipmunks , ghekos , birds …) Room layout great with plenty of storage , great air con and nice little touches like incense to burn . All staff very friendly and helpful without being intrusive . Free tuk tuk service was spot on Manager Julia very accommodating and prompt in responding to requests . Had by far the best massage in Sri Lanka here and in a beautiful setting This place isn’t particularly cheap but I think you get what you pay for and it is good value for the price . There are 6 rooms here and the place was full whilst we stayed but it is so spacious that you often forget anyone else is there at all

Villa is at top of a steep hill so if returning from town via tuk tuk drivers are likely to drop you before the steepest part . Only a 2 minute walk from there but just to be aware . Preferred to eat breakfast in town but that is just personal preference . Leaving

We booked the room short term in the early morning for the same early day and Julia was quick and very flexible in her response which really saved our last few days. We’ve been to the villa a few years ago and enjoyed it so much. It’s beautiful to see that the place is still well maintained and absolutely beautiful. The room was very clean and we felt so comfortable. The motto is space and you sure get your space and a feeling of pure relaxation. We also appreciated the good massage and the tasty food. We will sure be back for a third time. Thanks Julia for your hospitality!

For the first time I can rate a hotel with all 5 grades! It is such a stylish and luxurious hotel where every detail is a history like in a museum. The food is excellent, every day there is a new menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a very cozy lounge where you can sit, have a drink, listen to the music or read a book. A very nice lady Julia is working in the hotel. She organised a comfortable transfer for me, arranged a very late dinner as my flight was delayed, and she was always very welcoming, friendly to all the guests though the hotel was full and she seemed to be busy all the time. Nevertheless she devoted time to every guest! This was so nice of her! Planning to come back to this lovely and peaceful place again!

Everything!!! - The room - the bathroom (open, but not a lot insects) - the pool - the restaurant area withe the open kitchen and balcony - the yoga room - the location on the hill with the stunning view - the breakfast and food in general - the staff <3 - the activities (yoga lesson, cooking class) We loved it so much that we decided to stay two nights more than expected so in total 6 nights and it still felt too short!

That I can’t live there hahaha a bit climbing the hill and the stairs, but it definitely worth it for the view and the peacefully and quiet location :)

Property is really nice, located on a hill with an amazing view to the ocean. Rooms are beautiful and the restaurant area is impressive. We loved it.

We stayed here for one night and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredibly helpful and nice, the room absolutely amazing, wonderful view and a really nice pool area. The breakfast was incredibly good and well prepared. We would love to come back!
