I’m a returning guest of this hotel — I stayed here six years ago and was happy to come back. It’s a small, family-run place that feels safe and well-maintained. The rooms are clean and equipped with essentials like a safe, wardrobe, desk, mosquito net, clothes drying rack, and a suitcase stand. Depending on your budget, you can choose between a room with a fan or air conditioning. Please note that air conditioning comes at an extra cost, which is reasonable considering the high price of electricity in the country. For the affordable rates offered, don’t expect luxury or all-inclusive service. As is common in the region, you might encounter mosquitoes or geckos — this is part of the local charm and not a sign of poor maintenance. There’s also a shared kitchen on the third floor where you can enjoy a meal or a cup of tea. The location is great — just a short walk to the beach. The owner is incredibly welcoming and always willing to help, which adds to the homey and pleasant atmosphere. It’s totally value for money, offering both comfort and a feeling of safety. If cleanliness and peace of mind are your priorities, I highly recommend staying here.

"I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Unawatuna and had a great experience. The room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view. ( must reserve with such room ) The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Sampath at the front desk. He went above and beyond to assist me. Can’t understand why some have given law scores for such a lovely place and Hotel charges so small amount of money for their rooms as well.

It's less than 10 minutes walk to Unawatuna beach and is on the main road so there are plenty of shops, food places, and bus stops close by. There is a gate to get onto the property so it's separated from the main road. Any issues were dealt with immediately and the manager was very friendly and helpful.

Would be good to double check your booking as I didn't have a mosquito net in the room even though it said it was included. This was fixed straight away when I asked though.

Everything about this property was incredible! It was spacious, clean and in a good location with a very friendly and helpful owner who went above and beyond! The rooms were just as described and when we arrived we had been upgraded to a better room - thank you for making the stay special! We highly recommend Holiday Inn for your stay in Unawatuna!

owner is good person . he always care about his visitors. rooms are clean . if you are seeking a calm quite place ,this is the best one. we stayed 5night in there without any troubles . friendly service they provide . ❤️ thank you ..!

The best accommodation which we have stayed in thus far! Clean, good location, lovely staff and cheap! It’s a steal for what we paid! Would have loved to stay there longer but we had to move on unfortunately.. Would recommend to everyone

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean, cozy and quiet. It’s located on the main road, but we didn’t have any issues about it. Close to the beach and touristic street. Room was tiny, but it was ok for us. You should open the window or use AC to prevent accumulation of humidity inside. but anyway it was comfy stay

The place is central and close to everything in town. The staff was very friendly

The restroom has a bad smell from the sewage but overall the place was clean and neat
