It is a nice guest house with private swimmingpool and rooftop garden. Summit was very hospitable. It was noisy for us because of the road but we had no problems with cancellation and moving to another hotel. But backpackers will definitely find a lot of advantages - such as several kitchens, so you can cook your favorite food and there is an alco market near by and the cheapest fruit market in the area. Also Summit can organize a free transfer to different beaches.

Absolutely flawless. Sumith (owner) and his staff are so so very welcoming and incredibly helpfull. They really care for their guests and go way above and beyond to please and help. A stones throw from the beech. Super clean, great air con, quality towels and bedding fabulous and plentiful breakfast. Will be returning when next in Unawatuna. Just the best. Amazing! Great buffet breakfast, 5 mins walk from the beach, very clean with pool and garden, very accommodating staff. The owner, Sumith, is just amazing. He was very attentive and kind and really went the extra mile. I wanted to try woodapple fruit, and he specifically included it in the breakfast the next day. He provides transport to the beaches nearby and talks with you as a friend. I felt like home. I would not hesitate to stay again. Best Hotel in sri lanka 🇱🇰 👌 😍 Thank you so much.

Stop looking! If you want to stay in Unawatuna this is the perfect place to stay. Apart from the fact that the indoor area and rooms are great, the staff is absolutely fantastic!! We were treated royally from the first second which lasted for the 11 days we stayed. The owner Sumith and his staff like what they do - and they are good at it! After a varied breakfast with your own egg chef, you get suggestions for things to do or places to visit. If it is nearby, it is arranged by shuttle in some way. For shorter trips with the accommodation's own vehicles, otherwise you will get help to hire a driver. Nothing is impossible for Sumith and his team. Need I say that our party's two birthdays were both courted with homemade cake ;) The pool area is perfect to hang out in when you are tired of the beach which is just across the road. The accommodation also has its own garden on different floors if you want to sit in the shade for a while and look at all kinds of animals (monkeys, squirrels, lizards, birds, etc.) I can sincerelly not come of one thing that was bad with our stay at Ridee Villa. If you want to stay at just a hotel - go elswere. If you want to get the feeling you are staying with a friendly family - stay here! As long as you can :) Thank you Sumith and every singel member of your incredible staff for all the love and all the laughs during our vacation <3

Maybe it because of low season but breakfast looked poor. But everything that were available was nice. Nice pool, you can use kitchen to cook some local food by yourself.

Most of public spaces in the hotel was not available. You can see BBQ place on photos but it was unavailable too as well as both bars.

From the moment you check in you are welcomed by the hotel owner Sumith, an amazing, positive and soulful man who goes out of his way for every single guest. If you get to know him, he will single-handedly make your trip the most perfect and memorable. The Ridee Villa is situated right across from a lane which leads directly to Unawatuna beach. It is the most perfect location, on-beach hotels get grubby, sandy, damp and dirty - which is why this is perfect. It is always sparkling clean as Sumith takes personal pride in his hotel. He has designed and made the hotel from the ground up, mostly with his own hands or his own designs which were then created by carpenters (the unique windows on the 1st floor). He arranges transport complimentary and has an amazing array of classic jaw-dropping vehicles. He ensures that everyone has a perfect day from breakfast on, and is ALWAYS available. Handing out fresh beach towels and soft matts to place down on your sunbeds. (The only people on the beach who had this luxury). From the moment you step up to Ridee Villa you are welcomed by a towering beauty of a building with high pillars that house statues again made by Sumith. Greenery encompassing the beauty of the villa. You walk in and come to reception where you are immediately greeted with a welcome board with your name greeting you and your family, set up the night before as well as a cool towel and a lovely fresh juice to shake of your travel cobwebs. Once you have quickly checked in you will be shown around the property and be guided to your spacious room, with a bouquet of flowers and a candle lit waiting for you. The interiors are tastefully done and their is a quaint almost-Victorian set of bed curtains which transport you to a fairytale land when you slip into your comfy bed. The bathroom is HUGE, the shower nice and hot, and the room bright, but also easy to make dark and have a peaceful sleep due to the 2 layers of curtains. Please notice all the carvings and statues!!!

Nothing is bad about this stay. This is one in a million. Stay here and you will not regret your decision!

Perfect place to stay in Unavatuna. Good location - beach is in 50-100 meters. There’s a pool, staff always provides pool and beach towels on request. Place is amazingly decorated by owner and there are even small inner gardens with viewpoints! Also, you can request free ride to other beaches nearby on some brutal post-WWII era jeeps. Owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. We loved staying here and surely will choose it again in our next trip to Sri-Lanka

The only thing to notice here is a busy road next to hotel, but I couldn’t here any noises from inside

it was probably the best hotel we have ever visited. Extremely hospitable personal that put a customer on the very first place, good location, delicious breakfast, a lot of compliments from hotel that will surprise you, assistance in visiting local sightings. Highly recommend everyone to stay in the hotel, if you visit Unawatuna! Here you will find your second home! Hope we will get there once again! Thanks Sumith and all the team!

Everything was exceptional! Just one minor item: the hotel is really close to the beach, but a bit busy road that you need to cross - for us it wasn’t a problem

Everything from check-in to check-out was top notch. Breakfast is great! FULL support for beach experience: free transfers, full set of towels and mats, fresh juice on the way back.

Exceptional service

Vintage cars looked to be functioning on website but not the case. Would have been a fantastic touch. Jeep and tuk tuk transport to beaches was a brilliant addition however.
