Epic is located in a tranquil environment and it always utters the calming nature of the place which is like a little fortress. The structure of the buildings will prove it. Anyway, the worm welcome of Mr. Tharusha was there until we left the premises as he was very cordial and concerned about our facilitation. Rooms were specious and has been furnished with comfortable beds and chairs. Bathrooms were equipped with quality materials & hot water heater is working well. Mr.Saman was a nice person to have a conversation with & overall staff were very nice to treat us even with a smile whenever they see us. To mention about the meals, it was a delicious English breakfast.

This was our 4th day of our road trip and we stayed here for two nights. The staff were absolutely amazing! Janith, the manager, gave us a tour of the property and truly stood out – he's the pillar of this place, and we experienced great hospitality from him and the rest of the team. Shanka was also fantastic. My partner is lactose intolerant, and Chef Indasiri went above and beyond to prepare fresh coconut milk for us in the morning – such a thoughtful gesture! While we didn't catch everyone's names, every staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well maintained. The property itself is beautiful and in a great location, close to the main attractions in Unawatuna.

We didn’t try the food as the menu didn’t appeal to our tastes, but everything else about our stay was excellent.

Friendly staff and helpful manager made staying enjoyable. The location is not far away from the beach. Rooms clean and tidy, bed were really comfortable.

Is not a negative for a hotel, just personal experience, during breakfast came ANEX agent and something rude asked or said to us in Russian, considering that she was thinking we are from Russia? Felt disgusting as a big company representing person thinks that all around her is russian people (I believe she is russian herself as she couldn't even speak with the manager in a proper manner in English)

With all of the hotels that I stayed in Sri Lanka. From Colombo to Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Epic Hotel captured my heart. There is something special about this place that made me want to stay forever. The location is so good. You can go to the beach which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Their restaurant's food is excellent, so we always eat there for dinner (Seafood Rice & Curry, Pizzas, Pasta, and Chicken Fried Rice are must-tries). Staying at Epic Hotel feels like staying at home, which made my stay extra special. All of the staff are so sweet and kind especially Mahesh and Lucky.

The young guy who seems to do everything from checking people in, handling the laundry and room changeovers speaks very good English and was excellent and couldnt do enough for you. He was very busy and in our view was a dependent and valueable member of staff, had time for us and was super polite. The rooms are clean and spacious and one of the few places that provide toiletries, water, tea and coffee. Showers were excellent. Close to the beach across the road which shelves quite deeply.

It could do with mosquito nets as the wooden slats in the bathroom are open season for mosquitos getting into the room. We covered this over with our own travel towel but it could do with a perspex cover on the other side of the wall as mosquitoes can be a menace. However it was a small issue as we had a swat exercise before turning in. Wifi was poor in our room under the stairs but worked fine in other areas.

Truly amazing people are working at the hotel. Everyone we met here was always smiling, friendly, kind and always offering to help if we needed something. Our hotel room was clean and very spacious, the bed was comfortable and there were no problems with hot water. We ate at the hotel’s restaurant frequently and every time we enjoyed our meal. The location is also very good, because it’s close to the beach, café or shop with many different types of fruit. There’s also a shop with alcohol nearby (the only one in Unawatuna). Sometimes monkeys would come to the hotel’s tree and we could feed them. We would truly recommend this hotel to everyone. Our stay at this hotel is something that we’ll never forget. Thank you so much for making our days here so special.

Clean Room with Mini bar fridge. Staff were very polite and went an above to make out stay enjoyable and relax. Staff Mahesh and Ashan who helped us to Room with Luggage and serving food to the balcony on request exceptional Lunch and Dinner.

Lack of Bright Light at Reception and No signage to the Entrance of the Hotel welcoming Guests.. Have given a feed back to the Manager when checking out. Hotel appreciated my feedback and noted accordingly.

Do not let the exterior mislead you. The hotel and rooms are exceptionally pleasant, tidy, and inviting. Special commendation goes to ALL the staff, particularly the Security Officer who warmly greeted us upon our late arrival at 2:30 AM, the staff who assisted us during breakfast and dinner, and even those encountered along the corridors. They consistently provided beach towels and replenished water bottles daily, which proved immensely helpful during our stay. Kudos to the Team who makes our stay enjoyable!

We had a lovely, relaxed weekend at Epic unawatuna. The hotel is lovely, clean and simple and has everything you need. The manager, Mahesh, went above and beyond to make our stay super special. He's probably one of the kindest people we've ever met, please give this man a promotion!!!!! He gave us lots of advice about things we can do in the area and he made sure we had everything we need during our stay. The hotel is a very short walk from unawatuna beach. There's also a lovely garden to relax in (although there are lots of mosquitoes at night). We ordered a few meals from the restaurant as well. Make sure you give the restaurant your order a few hours early to allow time for them to prepare their food, it's all fresh. Their rice and curry was amazing! Make sure you ask for the eggplant moju (vambatu moju in Sinhala) with the rice and curry because it's great.
