Unique, Beautiful property that felt very calm and exclusive despite being conveniently located on the main road. All carefully and artistically designed with wonderful lush gardens, pond, and massage room. The swimming pool is lovely with shady loungers and a proper swimming ‘lane’. Comfortable beds, powerful showers and helpful staff.

Nothing major, but we were in the ‘cave’ twin room - although lots of character the stairs to the mezzanine were steep and floor space a little limited for 2 adults sharing. The restaurant is good but some local Sri Lankan options at breakfast would have been nice, and the option to eat in an evening without pre-booking in the morning. (Understandable given the limited number of guests though).

Poolside villa lacks privacy — I had to keep my shutters closed all the time because all the other guests could look into my bedroom. I would recommend choosing another suite. Wedding photography — They had wedding photography right outside my villa at 7am, which woke me up. Not sure how often this happens, and maybe it’s less of an issue if you’re not in the poolside villa. Private beach — fairly rocky, which makes swimming there not convenient and potentially dangerous. The showers by the beach were not working when I went. More family oriented property — good if you’re travelling as a family, but a bit disruptive for solo / couple travellers. Children were playing in the pool and screaming most of the time, which made it difficult to enjoy this space.

The place is amazing. Manager and staff are super helpful and friendly. Amazing service.. we went for our anniversary, staff organised a little party in the restaurant with lovely authentic Sri Lankan food and free wine. We both loved it, Stayed only two nights but regretting that would have stayed longer. Definitely we will go back and stay longer. Private beach was really nice, nice sandy beach. Swimming pool was very clear and clean.. very worthwhile for money. Overall amazing holiday experience.

For us nothing

Hard to sum up how good this place is. Beautiful and well thought out design with great food and service. They went out of their way for our 6 month old baby and little touches make this perfect. Small things like having a ceiling fan over every sitting area, a private beach with grassy front so you don’t have to get sandy if you don’t want to, and chance are the other guests will be lovely too (it’s intimate so there won’t be big parties of people - and we made friends!). Good location with easy Tuk Tuk rides to turtle beach, and Galle and walking to Unawatuna. Would highly recommend for travelling with a baby.

Wow! I am actually lost for superlatives for this villa. We initially chose it for the location, near to the beach but away from the hustle and bustle. This place is breathtaking. The rooms are like an art gallery, the outside spaces so peaceful and beautiful. Breakfast made fresh and to order every day. The most polite and helpful staff members. Honestly, this place is a dream and will be the biggest reason for us returning to Unawatuna in the future. Faultless!!

I loved every single thing!

The hotel garden is exceptinal. I believe they are the best one in Unawatuna. The breakfast is beyond expectations. Pool is lovely for the familys, we prefer to swim in the sea. They have a private beach but maybe it may be season effect, the sea was so wavy. There are good beaches reachable by tuk tuk.

When you sit outside, there is no way to protect yourself from mosqiuotes. They are using some natural techniques to get them away, but it is no use. Bring insect repellent with you.

great small hotel, originally the home of a police sergeant which has expanded into other buildings of a similar style, set in tropical surroundings, nicely decorated in traditional style, beautiful swimming pool, very quiet and peaceful, felt like you were in your own luxury private villa, friendly staff, perfect for a quiet holiday, short driving distance to turtle beach and jungle beach

our original room that was a standard room over 2 storeys felt a little cramped and dark (but we were upgraded to a bigger room for an extra fee, that room was amazing).

it would not be bad in a hotel of this level to serve espresso or cappuccino for breakfast. The hotel has its own beach, but you cannot swim there.

Friendly staff, lovely quiet private grounds with a beautiful garden and large pool. There's also a private beach across the street, close to Unawatuna Beach. Our room (Grand Suite) was even bigger than we imagined. Food was also great.

There was a beach party one night with loud music all night, we didn't sleep. The hotel couldn't help it of course and the manager even checked for us whether there were going to be more parties the next nights. So we were very happy with the service.
