The germ of that hotel - kind and caring personnel and restaurant. I’d never felt more welcomed like there from the first step I entered that hotel. They saw we liked to be outside - they put table to have meals outside, we asked for waffles for breakfast- we’ve got them. As it was just few guest at that time staying at the hotel, they provided a la crate menu, but that was even better - you could to choose from many options and everything we ate was absolutely quality and high level restaurants food. What could be improved - internet in the rooms was barely working (but in restaurant and reception it was perfect), some furniture is worn out and very old.

The hotel and the meals are excellent. I booked a bird watching tour with Thushan as a guide. It was very very interesting. Thushan is very helpful and you feel that he enjoys doing his job. I recommend him 100%

Fabulous location overlooking lake - great alternative to staying in Polonnaruwa or Sigiriya for a bit of a treat. Had an amazing view from the balcony - saw monkeys in the trees during day and had an amazing firefly display at night! Rooms were of a high standard with very strong air con to combat the heat. Has a lovely pool which was much used in the heat - you can sit and enjoy the view from here and the restaurant. Good variety at breakfast.

We stayed only one night and enjoyed the restaurant - if you want to dine anywhere else you will require transport.

Stunning location. Wonderful views. Comfortable rooms. Helpful kind staff. Good food we took the half board option and were not disappointed. Good value and a great place for elephant safari.

Beware of possible extra charges. We paid in cash dollars and they asked for an additional five percent. They eventually waived it but caused unpleasantness. Also we booked Catamaran lake trip which was basically two canoes strapped together. This could have been great fun but for the outrageous ....astonishing high price tag. Just know what you are getting. Wi fi intermittent.

Beautiful location, on a small hill right over the Giritale tank, surrounded by greenaries. It's not a five star hotel so don't expect luxury but they provide everything you want. Staff is very helpful especially the General Manager Mr. Ganesh and the Food & Beverages manager are very nice. Its an old building but rooms are very comfortable. Bathrooms are modern. You can spend the whole day just by watching the tank, forest and the monkeys You are spending the holiday in a jungle resort, so expect some insects and animals in your room. That's part of the holiday

The staff were amazing. Especially in the restaurant-they were kind, professional and so helpful. Especially with my children. No ask was too small. Reception was excellent and very helpful in arranging tour guides or drivers for us. I cannot say enough about how excellent the staff were. Property was gorgeous. Beautiful Christmas dinner. Excellent food in our 3 night stay.

The rooms were a bit outdated but nothing that impacted our dtay.

Nice view, calm location and good food. Large parking, driver’s quarters. Everything is how you would expect.

The AC stopped working and started spitting ice and dirty water. They fixed it quickly but next day the entire phase ran out of electricity. Anyway it was not super hot at night and we are not used to cold air pumping on our face. So we didn’t really use AC at night. But the rooms need some operational readiness assessment.

Great view over the lake. Lovely big terrace and decent swimming pool. Good sized room with a comfortable bed. Very nice helpful staff. Food was very good, varied choices for breakfast and a nice buffet in the evening. We were unhappy with our first room, but we we were moved with no problems.

Unfortunately, this hotel is tired and shabby. It could be a really good hotel if the decor and bathrooms were upgraded and refurbished. The air conditioning unit was very old and noisy.

Great location looking over the Minneria lake. Spacious and Comfortable room with AC. Bathrooms seem renovated. Showers had less pressure but hot water was available at all times. Great spread of food for breakfast. Both Western and Srilankan cuisines are available. Hopper (similar to crepe) is a must try. It is freshly made then and there. Friendly staff and there are bird watching, trekking, boat riding activities available (additional cost). Swimming pool is a great feature. Nice and clean and located overseeing the lake Driver accomodation included in the price.

A lot of bugs outside the room so couldn’t spend time in the balcony. Limited options for dinner.
