This property is amazing! The staff were very attentive upon arrival and throughout our stay. Shehan especially made sure he and his team/colleagues made our stay as pleasant as possible. I requested a small surprise from wild culture for my partners 30th, and they did which was extra special! Photos matched the rooms. If anything I was more blown away by the hotel than expected. The rooms are incredibly spacious and decorated to a high standard, that of what you would expect at a European 5*. Very comfortable, amazing views especially from the pool area at sunset. My only slight disappointment was the food menu. The lack of vegetarian options on the menu was very poor, especially for a Sri Lankan country. When we asked what they could offer for vegetarians, they said a sandwich.. for dinner 🧐 it’s clearly aimed at tourists with the choices, I felt some more authentic local (Sri lankan) food would have been nice to see. This hotel, in my opinion, would achieve a 5* status if they improved the food. We did not have breakfast because of an early start for safari. But they left us some sandwiches to take with us which was excellent! The food and vegetarian options was my only moan. It would have received 10/10 other wise. Thank you!

Wild Culture Yala is a beautiful oasis! The property is stunning, overlooking the rice paddy’s. We stayed here 2 nights, and could have stayed longer. The facilities are superb and the rooms are fabulous. Comfortable, spacious and stylish. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner - all were absolutely delicious. The location to Yala National Park is excellent. The icing on the cake and the thing that made our stay that extra bit special are the staff. They are the nicest staff we have met in Sri Lanka. Their warmth and hospitality is outstanding. A special mention to Upul, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We were a large family group of 9 with many requests, and we really appreciated Upul’s attention and care. Thank you to Upul and all the team at Wild Culture - you are the best!

Nothing - it was all brilliant!

The location is very close to Yala National Park so you’ll likely be one of the last to be picked up for safari and the first dropped off — this was a huge win for me! The pool is great and clean, the food incredible and the staff the most attentive I have ever experienced. Upul in particular went above and beyond in so many ways to make me feel like the guest of honour. I really considered extending my stay but couldn’t make it work with my itinerary. I’ll be recommending Wild Culture to anyone I know!

The shower seemed to go cool after a minute or so but it was so hot that it wasn’t uncomfortable.

It was a beautiful, well maintained hotel - all the staff always working attentively to keep the grounds and rooms in great condition. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Service was great, food very tasty and good portion sizes. The sri lankan curry and variations were some of the tastiest we have had albeit at hotel prices. Dont let that put you off eating here though as still excellent value for money! The beef curry was especially good. The rooms were wonderful, very well styled and clean. All amenities taken care of, including distilled and bottled drinking water. Poolside was tranquil and relaxed. Bar cocktails great! Upul was wonderful taking care of us. Always there to help and have a chat/joke with us - so a special thanks for that! Safaris and travel were organised for us which made it very convenient - it's only a short jeep ride to the main park entrance so don't let that put you off! Some lovely touches like bottled water and snacks for safari too.

It did feel abit on the more expensive side given context we had just come from Sigiriya/Ella/Nuwara Eliya. However don't let that put you off as its a gorgeous little boutique hotel in a lovely setting amongst the rice fields!! One tip - we did a morning and afternoon half day on separate days - i would recommend that being enough - it's a long day in a jeep otherwise. We love outdoors and came for the nature, but 12 hours chasing elephants amongst 15 other jeeps would have been way too long! Not the hotels fault, just that many other tourists and hotels go through same entrance so all on mass to same elephants, or leopard sightings!

What a special place! The staff was exceptional. It is small, and the staff really take notice of how to make everything amazing. It was my husband's birthday - and I emailed them - just letting them know. They decorated the bed, and then surprised him with a special dessert and candle, etc. They arranged our safari, and packed a bag for us when we left at 5am. (And we saw leopards and elephants!) The food was great and the beds and linens - top notch. We loved every minute of our 2 night stay. Highly recommend this when staying near Yala!

NOTHING - truly - everything was top notch!

This was by far the most beautiful property that we have stayed at so far in Sri Lanka. It’s location is ideal for people looking to get away from it all and relax. The decor is contemporary and classic, and the pool area is just divine! The staff are absolutely wonderful - I’d like to especially mention Suresh for looking after us throughout our stay. I’d also like to mention Shehan, his cocktails are some of the best I have ever had, and he takes great pride in caring for everyone who stays in the hotel. The hotel organised a wonderful Safari to Yana for us, we were so lucky we saw a leopard! I had the best meal I’ve ever had in my life in this hotel. I will never forget this place. Treat yourself and stay here!

Nothing! It was perfection

I’m not massively into leaving reviews but in this case I felt compelled to do so. We’ve had a fabulous trip in Sri Lanka so far and stayed in some lovely hotels (notably Heritance Kandalema and Golden Ridge Nuwara Eliya). However, this one ended up being our favourite despite not being rated as highly. The hotel and its grounds are so meticulously well kept, clean, calm and beautiful. We’re not ones for lounging by the pool but this place made that so easy to do - it’s just so calming and tranquil. The staff have gone out of our way to make our stay comfortable - they really can’t do enough. The food is some of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka and the dinners by the pool have just been lovely. Shout out to Shehan who was making some of the best cocktails we’ve had in the country! We also have a wonderful dawn Safari excursion through the hotel which was seamless and thoroughly enjoyable. I honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough. We’d read some of the negative reviews left by others on both Google and Booking.com - honestly - that’s nothing like what we’ve experienced whilst staying here!

We had a delightful stay here. The room was absolutely stunning with loads of space and elegantly decorated. We loved all the wildlife pictures in the room and the added extras around the property (eg. Mini golf, archery, bonfire). We even got to watch sunset over the paddies on the rooftop! It was beautiful. The pool was one of the best we’ve used in Sri Lanka and the staff serving dinner / breakfast went above and beyond to make sure everything we needed, we got. A particular shoutout to Shehan, who recommended some great cocktails and gave us excellent service throughout. Would thoroughly recommend!

There wasn’t much not to like. The only added bonus would have been laundry facilities!

We had a marvellous, relaxing and peaceful stay at Wild Culture. The facilities were great and we spent most of our time relaxing by the lovely and clean pool. The rooms were massive and beautifully presented. Bed was large and comfy, and air conditioning was effective. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. They organised our half day safari, where we saw leopards, elephants, crocodiles, birds, lizards, deer and water buffalo’s. They also frequently checked in on us while we were relaxing by the pool and were attentive throughout our stay. The food was excellent. We ordered a variety of dishes at lunch and dinner, and we couldn’t fault anything we tried. The breakfast was delicious and varied too. Drink options were great, including a full list of cocktails. Our whole experience was delightful and I thoroughly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Yala National Park and/or if you want a special place to relax and unwind.
