Choice was good, but two mornings following the hot water cyclinders were empty.

Some of the cups were badly stained from tea/coffee, needing deep cleaning. At the end of breakfast, one of the staff took away all the tools for picking up cheese,ham, tomatoes etc.. She then continued to cover all the dishes with clingfilm, but first she would use her hands without gloves on to level the hams, cheeses, tomatoes etc before putting them on a trolley. The fruit dishes were very hot making the yoghurt warm in the bowls when adding fruit, nuts etc/

The hotel is in an attractive old building, very nicely modernised. Our room was big and comfortable, with nice views over the Motala River. Staff were helpful, and the receptionist at check-in was particularly friendly and welcoming.

The bathroom was very small - little more than enough space to turn around - and the bath could have done with a grab-rail or support of some kind for getting in and out (my wife is partially disabled and found it a bit difficult). The heating in the room did not seem very efficient - there was a storm blowing through on one day and night while we were there, and the wind made it bitingly cold - but did eventually warm up.

It's a very central hotel with many rooms. The beds were comfortable and the room was cool despite the hot weather. The breakfast buffet was quite rich. There is freely available tea/coffee and pastries throughout the day and a lot of room in the lobby if you need to work on your laptop.

I think the shower/bath tub was somehow leaking because whenever we took a shower, there would be water spillage all around. It would also be great if the hotel could provide a fitness room in the future!

It is a good hotel. Nice rooms, good beds, friendly staff and a good breakfast. We even got our rooms early before normal check-in and it helped out a lot that day. Bishop Arms is easy accessed inside the hotel and they have a good kitchen and a great bar.

Not to sound petty but the coffee is not drinkable, neither at breakfast or in the lobby. It is not an actual problem since there are coffee shops nearby and as usual there is a water heater and coffee in the rooms.

A really nice hotel within sight of the Central Railway station. Our room seemed to be newly renovated and even had heated flooring in the bathroom. The breakfast was lovely and hot drinks and water were available for free near the lobby area. The staff were friendly and we spent an evening in the attached "British" pub which has an upper mezzanine floor which offers nice views over the waterways.

The hotel location was perfect. We were welcomed by friendly, helpful staff. The hotel facilities are great, a fantastic mix of old and new. Room was clean with a comfy bed. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of options available to suit all.

Our room was slightly on the small side and the shower door kept opening over the bath so we had to create a fix for that but overall very happy with our stay.

Near the water and we had a room that was facing the sunset which was beautiful!

It was still quite old and the room layout was small, toilet was way too small in our room but my sister had a small room but bigger toilet? It was weird, even tho we paid the same price to get the same rooms.

Excellent location, very easy to walk around town. Parking just around the corner. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Room was small but very functional and cozy. Child friendly, the staff left a welcoming note with some candy for my son and he loved it!

Breakfast was good but you are supposed to bake your own pancakes and I would have liked it there were clearer instructions around this, especially if you travel alone with a small child.

The hotel was clean, quiet, and charming. Our room was spacious with surprisingly high ceilings. Really nice seating area for us to relax in after our baby went to bed (in a cot provided by the hotel). Nice to have a restaurant right downstairs as well.

I am dairy-free and gluten-free. Some options were available at the buffet breakfast, but it was a bit limited (i.e. no gluten-free bread, just crackers). That said, I can't complain. There was something for me to have :)

Location, lovely hotel, good breakfast and helpful staff especially Jacob on reception.

The heating in our room didn’t work properly, but Jacob found a heater for us that solved the problem. He did offer to move us to another room. The safe didn’t work either!
