The hotel is beautiful, located in a historic building – and you can really feel the atmosphere. It has a very cozy and welcoming vibe. The location is also great, not far from the river, which I could see from my window, along with a view of the castle. I stayed in a classic room – it's small, but very cozy and comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and everything was spotless. The staff were absolutely excellent – always smiling and ready to help. I’m more than satisfied with my stay!

The only thing that could be improved is adding a larger wardrobe even to the smaller rooms – for longer stays, the current storage space just isn’t enough.

The decor was awesome. The shower in the bathroom was fantastic with great water pressure. Breakfast was great.

Loud at night from the street. Unfortunately our view from the balcony really soured the memories of my vacation around Sweden and Denmark. There are no traffic stops on the street below and we watched a driver speed and mow down a bird and injure its mate. He didn't slow down (possibly sped up) when they landed in the street and didn't stop after he ran one over to death while the other stood there mourning its mate. It's a scene I'll never forget, and it caused many tears on our trip. This was no reason not to slow down/stop for 2 seconds to allow the birds to move.

I got stuck in the elevator, twice! I got help and only spent 20-30 min each time.

This is at the moment my favorite hotel in Sweden. The price is reasonable (Sweden is very expensive), the building historical and beautiful, the room reasonably-sized with a great view, and decorated in a simple and very nice way. Good bed with wonderful linen, good table and chairs, small bathroom that has everything you need. And it is very clean! something very hard to find in Sweden where the hygiene standards are very low. The breakfast is also very nice with a couple of cool details (like the machine for pressing your orange juice). The wifi works too. We will come back, what a nice place.

I liked everything.

My second stay here and delightful as ever. The hotel has an old-fashioned grandeur coupled with modern efficiency. The bar and reception staff are extremely kind and helpful. Our single rooms were spotless and comfortable with lovely views. There are few better places to while away an hour or three than in their spectacular bar with a good book.

A little more choice at breakfast would be good. More fruit and a variety of yoghurt. And more croissants.

Prime historic location in Uppsala. We’ve now visited this lovely Uni City twice .All key sites of interest within the town able to visit on foot from the Hotel. Family run hotel who definately have the guests interests and comfort at heart. Also lovely to sit out on the tables and chairs in the sun ( with a coffee / local beer ) watching the world go by. Now in a similar priced hotel in Stockholm- which couldn’t be more different :(

The fact that the hotel has a 24 hr reception was very helpful given our flight into Sweden only arrived in at midnight. We were so hugely grateful for the understanding and patience shown by the reception staff when our credit card payment gave issues as we were checking in in the very early hours of the morning! Our beautiful restored room was a delightful reminder of what staying in the Grand Hotell Hörnan would have been like over the last century that the hotel has been in existence, and the lounge and dining room have also both been exquisitely renovated, showcasing the elegance of a bygone era. All this, plus very easy access to centrum made for a perfect introduction to our stay in Uppsala.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cosy and charming Grad Hotel Hörnan. Our room was very cute, comfortable, very clean, well equipped and we had the nicest view on the river and the cathedral. The room was on the smaller side but charming and we didn't mind at all. We enjoyed the historical vibe of the building and also liked that it was warm and cosy as it was cold outside. Breakfast was great, the staff very friendly and helpful, our bed very comfortable. We highly recommend.

Nothing negative! It is worth mentioning that parking at the private parking space of the hotel costs extra and depends on avalability. You can reserve a spot beforehand. We found the rate to be fair and got a spot which was great. There is regular paid parking on the street, too, so this is also an option.

Great hotel in the heart of the city. Close to the cathedral and the river. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent cleanliness. In the city for work, I stayed in a single room, quite small but functional. Very very good breakfast and beautoful bar. If I were to return to Uppsala I would definitely stay here again. Recommended

It's real old style and it's a HOTEL. Unlike the big brand accommodation, which no longer resemble hotels. It's Clean, Comfortable, and Conveniently located. (So it meets my 3C approach to accommodation). Breakfast was nice and the breakfast room was beautiful. I'd recommend Grand Hornan to anyone and I'd stay there again.

Bathroom is a bit small, clean and they supply all toiletries.
