The hotel is in a superb location, no more than 2 minutes walk from the XinBeithou metro station. There a couple of good mini marts right next to the hotel, and a number of excellent places to eat within 5 minute walk of the hotel. The main attraction of the hotel itself was that it was a hot spring spa, we had an excellent marble bath tab suitable for two people which we filled with water direct from the Beitou hotspring. It was an excellent to come and luxuriate in the bath after a day out sight seeing. The room was a generous and comfortable.

There were no wine glasses or corkscrew in the room. I suspect the hotel caters mainly to Asian guests, and drinking wine in the evening isn't something that's really part of the culture. Reception was able to supply a corkscrew and we made do with ricebowls for the wine, in lieu of glasses. There were also a small number of mosquitos in the area, so buying some spray at the mini mart is a good investment.

The location of the hotel was the best thing about this place as it had access to many restaurants and convenient stores, making it a very convenient location. The second best thing about the hotel was the service--which was top notch. The front desk was always able to resolve my issues. Originally, I booked the Spring Suite. In the listing pictures, it showed that the room had a window to a garden, but it's actually a false window (and fake flowers). On the website, the room listed having a reclining chair and power outlets closed to the bed, but in fact, the room had neither. In addition, the room was VERY small, with no place to sit but the bed, which is on the floor. If you are fine with sitting on the floor (with limited space), this room should be good for you. For me, it's very inconvenient as I prefer a place to sit (outdoor clothes on a chair vs clean cloths on bed). However, when I brought up the inconsistencies between room and listing, the front desk moved us to another suite which was bigger and had the chair and power outlet. The hot spring in general was sizable, and is a bonus to the room. One last thing to mention for anyone booking is that they do have a laundry room, which consist of one washer and one dryer. You will need to check if someone is not using it, and it's only open from 10 am to 10 pm. It cost 50 NTD to wash (around 30 minutes to wash) and 20 NTD to dry (for 10 minutes and 10 NTD per additional 5 minutes). If you don't have the 10 NTD coins, you just need to change with the front desk, which is very convenient also!

The facilities were a bit old, and the new room that I was moved to have no windows. Also, we saw a bug climbing on the bedsheet on the first day. Unlike other hotels where the blankets are tucked in away from the floor, this one has the blanket all the way to the floor, which makes it easier for bugs to climb on. In the bathroom, we also saw a roach. Fortunately, only 2 critters count, which I won't complain too much about, since bugs are a part of nature---and as long as I don't find them crawling on me when I'm sleeping. Last thing is that the pillows felt like folded up sheets, rather than a soft comfortable pillow. Doesn't help that the room didn't have a window--as it made it hard to tell the difference between night and day.

Everything was perfect. The real thermal water tap in the bathroom was absolutely insane and I am writing this from Budapest, which is called the Spa capital of the world. After those long and tiresome sightseeing days it was like returning to heaven, every single evening, and soak it off in that amazing, healing water. For us Europeans, the breakfast was excellent. We had a chance to try many of Taiwanese specialties there, and some items were way much better than on most of those terribly over-hyped night markets.

We stayed there twice and for the second time we have chosen a much better room than the previous, but it was right next to the elevator. It was a bit noisy on weekend mornings, but probably it was due to the peculiarity of communication style of a bunch of some old ladies:)) Maybe the door needs a bit more sound insulation. Other than that, everything was suuuper good!

The staff were very nice and helpful. Great location close to western fast food, supermarket and Beitou springs. There is parking under the hotel, the entrance right before the lobby, there is a person to park for you, cause it's tight. The hot springs option in the bathroom was awesome! Also my husband and daughter enjoyed the sauna in the room. The breakfast was OK, nice variety but not for western kids... There was option for extra bed in the room (foldable but ok) with extra payment, so the room suited us as five people.

The hotel was kind of musty but OK in general. The room was freezing! No heating option in the AC, we had to manage with turning up the degrees and down the fan. The breakfast had nothing to offer our peaky western kids.. we bought cornflakes but there was no cold milk! The toasts were not toasted enough, the butter wasn't tasty. There were veggies, fruits, lots of local food options, automatic hot drinks machine. But no Bakery items, no peanut butter, no eggs to order.

Nice size room, comfortable beds. Front desk was very nice and accommodating. We have to give our keys to them every time we go out as there is only one copy, which we found odd but nothing bad about it. Kinda nice as you don't have to worry about losing them. Breakfast served in the morning was nice and delicious. Variety of western and asian cuisine. They were given in a timely manner as well.

The top of the kettle was dusty and had some debris on it, and the fridge door on the outside was pretty scuffed up. You ask the front desk if you want your room cleaned, and so we did. They gave us fresh towels and linens, but they did not refill the toilet paper so we ran out and had to ask the front desk for some, and I'd used a cup to make some tea earlier, and they did not clean that cup. Shower/bath does not have a curtain or glass screen so when you use the showerhead, water can get out of the bath tub and onto the floor. But it was manageable for us.

The friendly staff explained instructions well (they spoke some English too), the convenient location of a grocery store next door and many eateries nearby, having my own personal hot spring in room, and the fantastic breakfast buffet made my stay wonderful. These have given me a memorable experience of the Chyuan Du Spring Resort.

Some of the screws to the room's door handle plate were loose. This caused the handle to wobble every time entering the room.

The property is located in a quiet area close to the metro station that takes you all over Taipei. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was comfortable. The staff were professional.

The building is older and appears to be a combo hotel residential complex. It’s a bit difficult to locate the entrance doors off the main road because it’s an older building there could be concerns if a person has allergies to airborne moisture pollutants

Great location: train station is literally on the opposite street, not even 2mins walk from hotel. Bus stop is opposite hotel entrance. Parking (free) available if you are driving. Good rooms: Rooms are spacious for 3pax, bed comfortable, there’s a natural hotspring tub in your own hotel room if you wanna soak. Superb staffs: Staffs very very friendly and helpful when asking for directions to places. There is a Carrefour next door, along with Starbucks and Mc’D. KFC and Watsons on opposite street too. Great location, not noisy even with all the hustle and bustle going on.

The location was good, next to the Xin Bei Tou train line. Room was clean, bath tub was great. Hot spring water was quick to fill and easy to cool with the taps on the side. Smelt like sulfur due to the spring water, but it was a great experience to have. Sat in the tub for more than an hour getting wrinkly as tub was just easy to relax in.

Layout of the room was weird, like it was a bigger room that had been cut, There was a weird pillar and a unusable corner. The room we were in was also facing the backside of another building with a compressor staring right at us. We kept the curtains and windows closed.

The hot spring water flowing directly into the bathrooms is incredible! I had so many wonderful, healing baths. The staff were very kind and hospitable and the breakfast was wonderful. The staff looked after me so brilliantly and made sure I had plenty of vegetarian options to eat. The room was cosy and beautifully clean. I will definitely be back!
