Excellent location - free shuttle to Xin Beitou as many times as you like. Very worth the cost to get Premier room to have your open air hot spring and savor the green sulphur, milky white thermal water. I stayed in room 306 located directly below their hotel sign - see picture. Complimentary 24 hour auto coffee grind machine in lobby and bottled water as well. Staff friendly and accommodating, English spoken. Family run hotel with great 'feel'. Several temples within walking distance as well as a family mart for convenience store items, Would return.

I enjoyed the onsen so much. And also, deep appreciation to the driver who suggested that I grab dinner beforehand as there are not many dinner options in walking distance from the hotel, then give the hotel a call when I needed picking up from Carrefour. Hotel pre-dropped my luggage in my room. Very thoughtful. Then on the day I checked out, I left my bags with the hotel for safe keeping, and went hiking in Yangmingshan, fell and got injured, so by the time I made it back down the mountain I was very tired. The staff kindly ferried my bags to Xinbeitou MRT where I was at. Caring and Great service I would stay here again! And the onsen water was great.

No lift, get used to stairs. There was a foul cigarette smell when I entered the hotel. But ok to ignore after I moved away from the lobby. Walls are thin so you do hear abit of noise from neighbouring guests.

The property itself has a very rustic feel. The personnel here have excellent service attitudes and will not hesitate to help answer any questions… granted, I spoke to them all the way in Chinese - that might be a factor! And what’s not to like about an onsen inside your own suite, for you and your entourage? The living room space is also serviced by two air conditioners - some might call this central heating - so that’s also quite… cool. (yes I made a dad joke, cue groaning thank you thank you you’re far too kind)

This is the one minus point that made the rating lower: NO air conditioning inside the two bedrooms provided! Had to rely on the provided air purifier to provide some wind for ventilation in one of the rooms: I personally didn’t have any ventilation, so I could only sleep in the living room with the foldable futon provided. also, rustic DOES mean the provided in room furniture is a bit on the worn-down side.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The organization was top-notch, and before our check-in, the hotel reached out to provide all necessary information. They even offered a free shuttle service from the closest MRT station, which made our arrival stress-free. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and the outdoor bath was amazing. The staff was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond whenever we had questions, assisting us with restaurant recommendations, taxi bookings. While the hotel is situated uphill, it's very close to the city center, just a few minutes' drive away. There's also a small supermarket within a 3-minute walking distance, which was convenient for any quick necessities. We will definitely come back next time!

Nothing negative to mention — however, we did read that some customers complained about humidity, so we’d like to share our experience. Taiwanese summer weather can be quite humid, and accommodations may feel more humid than you might be used to. This can easily be fixed with a dehumidifier if you feel uncomfortable. When we spoke to the staff about this, they immediately provided one, and our room became very comfortable.

Definitely booking for both the accommodation and the over all hot spring experience. Absolutely loved the vibe, the people and the facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed hot spring facility especially the in room semi open air room. I also left my phone in the hotel bathroom and it was returned to me by staff. Definitely a trustworthy staff.

The breakfast was a true local experience but did not sit quite well with most of us. Although there are jams and breads included in the spread, a majority of the offerings are local cuisine breakfast so take note of this prior to booking. But this isn’t really an issue, but rather a point of preference. It was still over all great!

1. The location of the hotel is perfectly situated at a corner of New Beitou that is away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. 2. The free shuttle van service is really helpful as it can ferry you to different places. I asked the driver for breakfast recommendations and he dropped me off at this store near the metro station. The driver was really friendly! 3. The room design is inspired by Japanese traditional homes. It gives off a very warm feeling. 4. The hot spring water from the taps are naturally derived. The hot spring tub is big and provides a relaxing experience.

1. The staircases leading up to the rooms are quite old and narrow. Visitors with big luggage might need to request help from the hotel staff to carry it upstairs. 2. The room that I initially stayed in had a wasp and the hotel staff would prefer it to fly away to the nature by its own. So, the hotel staff upgraded my room at no cost at all! I understand their concern for wildlife conservation and honestly felt relieved that they did not kill the wasp. 3. The hot water supply at the shower room does not seem to work. But my solution to that was to use the hot spring water to shower, so it was all good.

Staff was very accommodating and responded quickly to messages. They offer transportation to and from the MRT station. The hotspting water in the tub is perfect. The room was clean and provided all the basic amenities we needed. The room had interesting details like the japanese style wood and paper windows. Breakfast was porridge with a lot of toppings, very tasty if you like the Taiwanese style.

The room and decor is a bit dated, but it didn't bother us at all. The tub was a little small for two people to stretch their legs out at the same time.

This hotel played a big part in my trip to Taiwan, which was even better than I expected. I would like to thank the staff member Lin for her kindness and generosity in accommodating my hotel reservation mistake before departure. I would also like to thank the staff member who kindly greeted me when I checked in, and the gentleman who helped me pick up from XINBEITOU Station to the hotel. I also have a slight problem with my credit card payment at the JIUFEN store, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the staff member who willingly helped me solve the problem. A truly impressive trip to TAIWAN! I want to go again already! Thank you again.

- we were upgraded to a bigger room - the staff were lovely and spoke good English - there is a shuttle bus (recommended if you have luggage as it is up a hill. If you walk be careful as Google maps may send you up a long dark flight of stairs outside.) - the hot spring bath felt great ! Hot, opaque, sulphurous, leaves skin soft. - the breakfast (congee with various toppings) was typical and tasty - the room had two air cons, a tatami mat area, separate bedroom, two TVs with YouTube and some other streaming services, and a bath big enough for two, so we had lots of space - interesting mix of Chinese and Japanese aesthetics (more like Chinese taste with Japanese touches) - great value for money

- the shower/toilet room was a little spartan. Low pressure and hard to adjust the temperature, maybe because it was also hot spring water. -I would have liked a yukata bathrobe to lounge around in like in Japan. - there is a big communal bath but it is only for day guests. I would have liked the option to book it and enjoy it before check in! - speaking of which, check in starts from 7pm, because I think they also rent out the rooms to day guests. You couldn't tell though as it was clean.

Lovely little hotel. Private thermal hot tub outside the room was fantastic. Spotlessly clean, free coffee & bottled water available 24/7 in reception. We arrived by car the Hotel got us a space right outside. Free Shuttle Bus drops you into town if you need it but it's only 8 mins on foot. Perfect location easy walk to the hot spring and attractions. Didn't book breakfast there's a Starbucks & McDonald's and plenty of breakfast options in the town Fantastic value.

Nothing it was great.
