Building and room are modern with high grade materials and finishes

There are two restaurants at the hotel - Chinese and French. Chinese cousine choice was limited and quality was not high, French restaurant is OK but it is designed more for presentation and experience rather than food - dish size is tiny and selection is limited. But main problem is with breakfast - there is no standard buffet breakfast, only limited set menu you have to order in advance - more like a “boxed lunch”. I would expect at least standard buffet.

The rooms are great, and the in-room onsen worked flawlessly as well. The shuttle service to Beitou is very convenient as well.

The breakfast could be improved. You can choose between two fixed breakfast sets, western & taiwanese. To begin with, both are way too big. I think they want to give you choice, but in the end its just wasteful as you can't finish it all. The taiwanese one had an interesting variety and was good. The western one.. well.. it feels like a "what taiwanese think is western", but hasn't much else to do with western breakfast. I think we would've preferred a buffet-style breakfast.

Comfortable room, beautiful in room onsen including a cold pool. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Food wise we did the set menu (one vegetarian, one not) at the Chinese Restaurant, it was good but I'd probably pick and choose off the a la carte next time. Breakfast was good. There was no option for chinese vs western for the vegetarian menu so it had some quirks but the non vegetarian options my partner had looked great.

The privacy curtains in the onsen room had some mold on them which is hard to avoid with the humidity and it being an older facility (we were looking right over the museum and public bathing area)

Amazing experience! We felt like we were living in luxury from the moment we arrived. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and treated us so well. There were plenty of freebies in the room to enjoy. The view was stunning. The onsen in the room was incredible. The beds were comfortable and room was perfect. The meals were incredible - breakfast was huge and so delicious with generous refills on some items.

To avoid disappointment, make your dinner reservations at the on-site restaurants early. The Chinese restaurant was fully booked which was sad for us since we were only there for one night. The staff should recommend guests make their dinner reservations when you book your room. They are Michelin recommended so obviously it's popular. However, we did get to try the food via room service and it was great - huge portions of noodles.

The place is quite nice. & the Room Balcony does wow. And really special to have in-room Onsen baths. But the hotel somehow does not quite match expectations in terms of either luxury, thoughtfulness or serenity. Small things like the quality of the pillows and of sheets, & of amenities. The design comes across as somewhat “cold”. And we had paid for a quadruple room specifying triple occupancy. But there were only two sets of pillows in the room even though they did bring in 3 sets of yukatas, so it seems there was not enough prep before our arrival which should be a given, for a hotel at this level .

The service from this resort and the room are 10 star. All the staff provide impeccable service - one name is Poser who was very helpful in finding us dinner. The room and it’s amenities are amazing. And the private hot spring bath available in-room is unique.

Wish there were some amenities for children. Many children were being hushed quite a bit. If there could be a games room with a pool table, table soccer, perhaps some computers games, and even a kid’s club for parents with younger children somewhere in this wonderful hotel - that would’ve made it the best hotel in the world for me because it was very close. It would also be better for customers who can’t stand children - stop them running around.

very friendly staff since the moment we arrived. I could speak Mandarin but I also really appreciated that the staff was very willing to speak English to my partner. breakfast spread (both Taiwanese and western breakfast) were amazing. Loved the pineapple cakes and bought extras to bring back home! also loved the comfortable slippers from the room and wanted to buy a pair but too bad my size was not available.

on the day we checked out, there were some maintenance going on and air con in the lobby was probably not on which made it quite warm. this was when we waited for our uber to the airport

OBSESSED with this hotel. GREAT staff. Great rooms. Spa amenities were amazing. Lovely location. I like that they offer a shuttle service. Whoever does the staffing does a great job - kind, polite and nice people no matter what job they did! The staff also spoke GREAT English no matter their role. This was nice as they could offer me good recommendations for things to do. Treat yourself and stay here.

the onsen water was really good.... I would come back to Beitou just for the onsen water

I feel our hotel price is on the steep side. The "luxurious" feeling I normally get from other onsen hotel is missing here.

Breakfast, facilities, staff, location and room were all great! Would definitely recommend to others and also go back myself.

Only a small thing: you are required to buy a (rather tight) shower cap to be allowed to enter the outdoors pool area, and we had to wear it even though we were only sitting in the shallow water…it was 38 degrees warm and humid that day, so wearing a tight shower cap when you are not even swimming was not very comfortable and seemed pretty unneccessary.
