-Staff was super helpful/friendly, particularly the grandma. Across language barriers, she always asked how my day was and greeted me with a smile. -Very private capsule/pods with ventilation! You could actually lock it, since they came with doors. -Good location -- close to the night market and bus stop. -Good value. -Good water temperature and pressure. -Luggage sized lockers.

-Small nit-picking, but the outlets in each pod only had USB in input, which made it a bit annoying. However, the dining area/bathroom had plenty of electrical outlets available. -Might be hard to meet people (not necessarily a social hostel) but it's OK if you have a plan of what you want to do.

the front desk lady is so sweet, she alone makes the stay 10x more comfortable. even with the language barrier she goes out of her way to chat with you and help you. i felt right at home and was very comfortable eating in the common areas etc. they also have discounted tickets for attractions/rentals. the showers are pretty big and comfortable and were clean. the capsules keep out a lot of light and when the lights are off at night it’s pitch black which is really nice. it was pretty quiet when i was there but i don’t think there was a lot of people there in general. location is good since it’s a small town and u can get lots of good food options from the street market, just note that if ur bussing in, ur on the other side of the lake so plan accordingly

just note that the washrooms are shared woman and men. the capsule itself may be small for someone tall, it was comfortable for me but i’m 5 foot lol

The hostel staff were very welcoming (chocolates on arrival!) The dormitory was clean, private and comfortable. Guests have a large lock cabinet for belongings, the door on your bed locks too. The bed was very comfortable, the linen clean. The bathroom was very clean, the shower water hot, and shampoo/body wash/hairdryer provided. The bathroom is unisex. You can rent a towel and buy a toothbrush. The location is perfect, very close to the lake and the shopping/eating area. I was with a group of 6 friends and we were all very impressed with this hostel. Thank you Yong Guan! 😃🥰

Only a very small criticism, there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers for 16 dormitory guests. Although no one in our group had to wait long for the shower.

We had the cabin beds for two nights, and it was definitely a great option - really fun, no noise, and the room is small so the AC worked fast! Wouldn't recommend the cabin beds for longer periods of time as there is not much space to put things, but for a couple days they are perfect. You also have the balcony to yourself. The location is excellent, near everything you could need but far enough from the main street that there's no noise. On the second day we decide to have the breakfast, and it was delicious.

Very cosy and comfortable capsule with a fold down ledge to put small items. Sleeping area is accessed by a key fob and another key for the capsule itself. Locker is provided to store large luggage. The toilet is clean and towel can be rented for 30NT. The host is friendly and gave me advice on my itinerary :) You can also approach them to rent bike from a reputable bike shop! They allowed me to store my luggage after I checked out to explore the area.

Do note that the toilet is not gender segregated, but cleanliness is still maintained. The sound insulation is poor as sound from the corridor or toilet can be heard.

Location was great! In this village, I feel that you're in walking distance to most things anyway but this was easy to find as it's on the main road very close to the police station. We had the private room with two futuristic-looking pods in. Very clean and good air con. Nice roof terrace right outside as well. The room itself isn't big but we didn't need it to be. Shared bathroom was never too busy and seemed clean. There are flip flops provided there for use in the bathroom. It was nice of them to give me and my partner a key each as we had different things we wanted to check out. I would definitely stay here again.

The personal was amazing. I noticed I would arrive at one in the morning, they were here and upgraded me to a private room with personal bathroom for the first day. The personnel was also very kind, polite and spoke very well english.

The location is in the center of Kowloon, above a big market place with a lot of sellers from around the world, which might seem scary, as they offer you something all the time, but for me, a white man, nothing bad happened, people were smiling and there is a security person in the middle of the market hall. As I arrived the first night at 1AM a police car was parked in front, but I didn’t see any criminality. I might suggest owners to put some nice smelling products in the hall of the hostel, as it smells like disinfection, proof it is well cleaned. Rooms are not modern, but AC is there and all you need for a nice night sleep.

I had a great stay! The hosts were welcoming, and the space was very cosy. The bed is basically a sort of capsule room, since you can close the wooden door, so you don't get a lot of light or noise from the outside. The locker was large and could fit a large suitcase. All the spaces are very very clean! It's super close to the lake and to the market area, and close to both the bus stop and the ferry pier.

Really lovely place! Super friendly staff especially the lovely lady that was a proficient google translate user hahaha! She would accompany us to rent our bikes and kept checking if we needed anything! We got the pod room for one day which was really nice, with a lovely patio upstairs to chill in. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, good location. 10/10

Clean, comfortable, spacious pod-style hostel. Big secure lockers for valuables and your bag. You can even lock your pod! Entry to the hostel and the dorm is via electronic key. One of the most secure hostels I’ve stayed at. Tons of space in the pod, with a light, socket, collapsible table. Comfy beds. Air circulation is good. Shared shower / toilets were clean. Staff are friendly. There’s a kitchen area to cook but I didn’t use it. Luggage storage after checkout available and free. Can pay by card via booking.com or cash in person. Good location. Ita Thao is small so everything is within walking distance but you’re not far from the bus stop to go around Sun Moon Lake. 10 min walk to cable car. 5 min walk to pier.
