From the Moment I stepped into Blackwood Hotel, I knew I would enjoy my stay. The staff gave us a warm welcome, were very helpful with the luggage and offered lovely refreshments. All the Staff were also very polite and friendly during our stay. The hotel looks exactly like it does in the pictures on their website. Cleanliness starting with the rooms, pool,gym and sauna area was top notch. Wifi connection in the room was good. All amenities listed were also provided. Breakfast was part of my highlight as there were plenty of options to choose from. Food from the restaurant was also very tasty with good portion sizes. Room Service was amazing too. Henry, the Hotel Manager would always greet us with a big smile on his face , welcoming us during our morning breakfast, and any time we bumped into him, he would ask if we were okay and if we needed anything. He has Excellent Customer Service Skills. I really had Good Value for my money and had one of the best hotel experiences I have ever experienced. Thank you Blackwood Hotel for the wonderful experience. I definitely hope to be back again in the future!

Henry, the manager, set a wonderful tone for my visit with his welcoming demeanour and attentiveness. His passion for ensuring guests have a memorable experience was evident, and it made a significant difference in my stay. Frank at the front desk was incredibly helpful and cheerful, providing assistance with a smile. He made the check-in process seamless and was always available to answer any questions I had, making me feel right at home. Esther in the restaurant was an absolute delight. Her friendly service and fantastic energy brightened up every meal. Not only was the food exceptional, but her genuine hospitality made dining there a highlight of my stay. Lastly, I can’t forget to mention Maneno, the hotel driver. His impeccable service and friendly conversations during my rides added an extra layer of comfort to my travels around the city. Overall, the team at Blackwood Hotel – from Henry and Frank to Esther and Maneno – truly exemplified what excellent customer service is all about. I look forward to returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant stay!

I arrived a bit late and was very tired, but the staff who checked me in was incredibly kind and helpful—it truly made a big difference. The manager was also excellent: highly professional, attentive, and welcoming throughout my stay. This facility is extremely well-organized and run with a high level of professionalism. From the warm hospitality to the smooth check-in process, everything was handled impeccably. The rooms exceeded my expectations. What you see is exactly what you get—modern, clean, and very comfortable. I absolutely loved my stay and would highly recommend Blackwood Apartment and Hotel to anyone visiting Dar es Salaam.

The only downside was having to leave—I truly wish I could have stayed longer.

We had a 1 night stay @ Blackwood. It was a fair way from the airport which we travelled from. The apartment on the ground floor was generous. The A/C worked well as did the TV. My husband used the pool which was full of children late afternoon. We all went for dinner in the restaurant on Level 1. We were the only guests. The food was fantastic but it took a long time to come out, 2 hours for our main course, so we started to play cards. The bathroom shower leaked at the seals and A/C in bedrooms were not as good as the main living area. I would return again. It is a nice, comfortable stay.

The window near the door of our ground floor apartment didn’t lock. We told the staff that evening but it was not fixed.

This is the second time I have stayed here. The hotel is situated in the centre of Dar Es Salaam which made it easy for me to move around. The hotel staff are very friendly and they offer excellent customer service. The hotel manager is a gentleman, very humble and down to earth, made sure me and my family had the best time at the apartment. I highly recommend it.

The cozy feeling of being in a new modern design apartments , rooms the bar and restaurant , very clean areas and the luxury of services from checkin to check out was quite enjoyable.

The hotel is excellent, with beautifully designed and equipped rooms—very lavish. Quite accessible with a variety of local food joints. Mlimani city mall is a kilometer away. The staff is warm and welcoming.

The only challenge is the Wi-Fi. You can hardly make an audio WhatsApp call. This needs immediate attention—two full days with no connection. You can scarcely use mobile data because the rooms are underground.

It looked exactly like on the pictures. Very clean, very comfortable. We literally wouldn’t have had any complaint except their solar-operated water heater broke a few days before our stay which we would have liked to know ahead of time. However, management was very professional in the way they handled it and cared for us as customers.

The room was really nice and big. I felt very comfortable in my room with a nice balcony.

I had a huge problem with the gym because the treadmill was not working. I made my omplaint and I was told it has been fixed but still it was not repaired. I was really disappointed because part of the reason I booked this hotel was the gym room they presented online. I also people put their food of plate outside their rooms and coming back in the evening you could see flies around a plate of rest food. That was totally unacceptable.

The location was great. Close to everything and easy to get to. The room was very big .. so much space for everything. A small balcony for fresh air. Swimming pool is always available and not over crowded.

The water was cold to shower the children. And the bathroom water comes out from the shower on the floor and it gets too slippery and floating. The Internet was very slow, .
