Everything was absolutely beautiful from the moment you arrived! Beautiful reception, pool, restaurant and grounds leading to insane rooms with a beautiful view over looking island and koh Pha-ngan. As well as facilities all staff were lovely.

We believed you would be able to see elephants from our pool, you can not whilst in pool higher up the mountain but can see them when standing on patio/balcony if the elephants are in certain areas. You can see them though whilst in the communal pool!

The room is breathtaking! I love that they use the salt to clean the pools. Waking up in the morning and going down to say hi and feed the elephants that are freely running in the nature is just so wholesome. I loved the bed, I slept like like on the cloud, for my husband it was a bit soft. Depends on your preference. Housekeeping amazing! The hotel is very close to Fisherman’s village (2mins by motorbike) so plenty of options for dinner and drink. Also great location to visit the most beautiful beaches of Koh Samui.

The staff at the breakfast was a bit grumpy! Not all of them but most of them were unpleasant. The breakfast menu could have more options and the coffee and juices could be improved. All the finishings of the room and the hotel is high end apart form the kitchen. Mind the hotel is new and still expanding so you can hear the workers during the day. It did not bother us though.

The cottages are very welcoming and well furnished, providing all the amenities and quality one could want and a bit more. The staff at the restaurant and spa were lovely and feeding the elephants in the morning was a fun experience. The location is a bit separated from the rest of the infrastructure but the views are worth it and the quite at night as well (keep in mind that there’s a construction site during the day at this time)

The front desk could be reinforced with the support of a more experienced person. Another thing that could be greatly appreciated would be a shuttle to the beach or to the fisherman village for instance.

We have made the most magical memories at the Wild Cottage Elephant Sanctuary. We stumbled across this resort in a magazine whilst we were on the plane to Koh Samui. Fate is definitely a thing because this was the only destination we hadn’t booked accommodation for and the hotel had only been open 5 days. Waking up to the sound of elephants, swimming next to them in the pool and feeding them each morning and lunchtime has been the most magical experience. Everything about this place felt personal. It’s not just some flashy hotel owned by a big corporation the owners are here working on the reception desk and serving in the bar. The Thai locals working here are just the loveliest people and I can imagine they are as mesmerised as us by this surreal hotel. I suggest if you’re planning to go to Koh Samui soon you book a stay here and quick because I’m sure in a few weeks time you will struggle to be able to make a reservation without years of pre-planning! Don’t be put off by the lack of reviews! The hotel opened a few days ago and although there is still some work being done on neighbouring villas you will absolutely never get this experience anywhere else and certainly not at the current price. Writing this review is so bittersweet- we are so sad to leave but I feel personally invested in the absolute certain success this gorgeous resort will have. A beautiful hotel in the most gorgeous surroundings, we only stayed one night and wish we did two as it was so peaceful overlooking the elephants in their habitat and the sea in the background. Our room had a private pool and it was just perfect and we could order room service while enjoying the view. The food and drinks at the restaurant are pricier than average but really great and the presentation is lovely. Breakfast is also a stand out. The feeding of the elephants in the morning and afternoon is also a great touch and the staff were so helpful in taking videos and photos for us to remember our experience.

They have an option where people that aren’t staying at the hotel can visit throughout the day so it got very very busy in the early afternoon so for us it was a great time to enjoy our room instead.

Brand new hotel. Room was absolutely stunning, beautiful decor, well kitted out with a useful kitchen and good quality appliances, the children's room was also lovely with some nice touches. Great pools, amazing views over the elephants, location at the sanctuary is excellent. They borrow 3 elephants from the Haven next door for during the day and it's a pleasure to be able to watch and feed them. Only a 7 min taxi from fisherman's village which is a vibrant seaside village with plenty of bars and restaurants. Food at the restaurant was excellent, quite a small menu but what they do they do well.

The restaurant is expensive, and we struggled to get across our dietary requirements in terms of allergies, and after mentioning our daughter's peanut allergy, food still came with a sprinkling of peanut dust! Construction of the hotel is still going on, though noise didn't bother us too much. I do note replies from the owners on previous reviews have blamed this all on a next door hotel which is dishonest, as there are definitely Wild Cottages buildings being built (there is also another project being built next door which is still a long way off!)

The elephants were exceptionally cute. The staff were friendly and helpful. Value was very fair. The suites were nicely designed. View of the elephants from the pool in the family suite was solid.

I did struggle with bugs in the room for a couple hours, though it got less bad once we turned the lights off. Hotel needs to find a better solution for this. If you book family suite; the shower seemed pretty open to the living room which could be strange with kids, (we didn’t stay with kids and are not sure if the hotel installs a shower curtain or something to block the shower). There was somewhat loud construction and the main pool was closed (though I think this was a one off event). Despite these issues, we really liked the property + service and would still highly recommend this.

Lovely room, quite the idylic landscape and a unique experience (considering the elephants roaming around the reservation area). The reception and restaurant staff were great and deserve a nice praise.

I would class the hotel as a serviced flat more than a resort per se. While the experience was overall positive, the property still lacks some basic features (like a gym and a more complete spa) which would be expected for the rate charged. Furthermore, there are extra fees charged for some basic items and services (such as room amenities and the daily yoga class) of which are usually included in similarly priced hotels in the region. These small extras could easily be just added to the total cost of the reservation to avoid passing a stingy image and increase customer satisfaction. Still worth the visit for the uniqueness of it.

Loud families mingled in-between couples rooms. Not the best effort from staff to keep couples in quiet rooms, area of the resort. Food good, but overvalued. Yoga class was not good, instructor lacked personality and skill, to add insult, additional US price for class. Also, lots of construction in the area adjacent to resort. Room lacked amenities for the ladies, magnifying mirror and lotion. Potential to be epic if more effort applied.
