The villa with the plunge pool was excellent. Spacious with the bedroom separate from the kitchen. The beach is decent. There is no restaurant but with the KPG app you can order food and other supplies from all over the island. Not to mention plenty of restaurants just a short walk away. But, the experience of getting food delivery food and having plates and cutlery and a large table in front of the pool was great. Just a really relaxed place where you can drink a bottle of wine in your own own plunge pool. Especially for the very reasonable cost!

You need to upgrade your pillows.

Great location for who is looking for an isolated place but still 5-15 minutes on bike from all the bars and restaurants. The isolated location was an advantage as our room was literally on the beach. The staff are friendly, they picked us from the pier and helped us get a taxi when we left. Big room, great pool

Because the resort is on the beach, you must have a bike with you to entrance the area. The road from the main road is unpleasant for walking during the night. There is an option to rent a bike from the resort - make sure you reserve one the night before. We came in the morning, and they were all out. We rent a bike from a nice place at the entrance of the road to the resort.

Rooms were spacious, modern, and clean. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The swimming pool at the beach front was clean and very nice. It's a great shame this place doesn't offer a restaurant.

Sunbeds need renewing on the beach as they are uncomfortable. Many were broken. Not enough of them. The walk up the dirt path was like the surface of the moon. The distance to the nearest supermarket is approximately 20 minutes from your room, in heat that's a lot, especially carrying shopping.

It's very clean and well kept here. Close to the pier and a 7/11. Nice clean pools. Nicely landscaped.

There's a lot of noise at night from bars. The beach is lame really and it dead ends in both directions after a short distance. . Didn't enjoy listening to the cleaning staff bickering with each other. It's never just quiet here. Maybe when the bars close at 2am you'll get a couple hours of peace before the roosters start crowing, and the dogs bark.at 4 already.

The room with the sea view - house number 1 was wonderful. The space was great with a kitchenette unit, sink, fridge with welcome water. A little side sofa, TV, a patio and a super comfy bed. I loved everything from the start to the end. It was a quiet reset for me, exactly what I needed. Customer service is great - pick up and drop off to the port was great. WiFi was strong, the view from the room was private. Not as close to the pool as the other two rooms so great. It’s a short walk to shops and places to eat. One can rent a scooter too. I loved my stay and would love to return.

We loved the size of our room and having our own private courtyard. We felt very comfortable and safe and enjoyed the pool right on the beach. The views from the pool/beach are amazing. The staff were lovely and assisted us with pick up and drop offs from the pier, cheap bike hire and anything else we needed. The location was great, far enough way from the busy areas that it was quiet at night but we would recommend hiring a bike to get around. It is quite a walk from the road to the rooms so we found the bike handy.

We had to request additional toiletries (toilet paper) each day instead of it being left at our room. The distance from the main road to the rooms was a bit far and bumpy.

Absolutely beautiful little villa with small pool outside in a small enclosed garden for each villa with two sun loungers and a table and chairs also. Fully equipped kitchen with hob, microwave, fill size fridge and freezer and utensils and crockery. Table and chairs in kitchen, bed was huge and super comfy, massive tv with netflix. WiFi was absolutely super and no issue. Well appointed and large bathroom and absolutely immaculate and spotless. We loved our time here, beach a 1 min walk with lovely pool and loungers. Sunset was spectacular sat here and whilst the sea isn't the best for swimming as it's very shallow it's calm with such soft sand also.

No bar or restaurant here but we didn't find it an issue, we bought supplies from 7/11 and we went to Macro and bought food to make our own breakfast.

The staff was amazing, helped us with any request and offered a solution to every inconvenience. The room was spacy and clean, and freshwater was supplied every day. The hotel's pool is on the beach, with a great view.

The access road to the hotel was bumpy and uncomfortable, also the location is quite distant and requires transportation(taxis are expensive but you can rent a bike in the hotel- would recommend it) note that there is TV only in the living room and AC only in the bedroom

Friendly staff. They really make an effort keeping you happy. If you need something just ask and they will try to provide (e.g softer pillows for us). Location. Right on the beach (beach not good for swimming thoug, but perfect for long walk on it) Shops 10min (7eleven and one minimarket) on foot away (if you find a shortcut is 1 min - leaping over short gap :)) Great thai food restaurant in walking distance (very cheap and tasty). Nice small private plunge pool in the middle of the villa (between bathroom and living room) to cool off - not for swimming - completly private. Fully equipped kitchen (microwave, water heater, induction plate, fridge, dishes) The villas closer to the beach are nicer by design though (we stayed there to) but not private when in the outdoor private plunge pool.

AC only in bedroom, so it can get hot quickly in living room/kitchen - you need to make some draft with fan wich is provided in the kitchen and keep the door closed at all time when in pool.

Very pleasant and peaceful place. We had a bungalow right by the pool with a sea view. The owner is caring, he came to pick us up at the ferry for free. And every morning he cleaned the pool and his colleagues cleaned the paths, the entrance to the beach and the surroundings of the bungalows (they did it twice a day actually). Cleaning services in the room are available on request (just put a tag on the door handle), we used the cleaning service 4 times during the week. Two people cleaned the room for almost 40 minutes, very detailed (even the windows). I have never experienced that detailed cleaning anywhere in the Thai islands. You always get clean towels (for the bathroom and the pool). The resort is very peaceful. Since several bungalows have their pools, there are not many people at the main pool and you will usually be there alone or with one other couple. If you are okay with the hotel not serving breakfast, the kitchen is intended more for serving your takeaway food, so you will be satisfied. We also rented a scooter at the resort, the price was fair (and we didn't have to walk anywhere to the rental place). The only thing to remember is that the sea is tidal so that you can swim there after about 5:00 pm (in July). But we knew that, so it didn't bother us. If we go to Ko Phangan again, we will come back here.

Nothing particular. I can imagine that if I really wanted to look for small details, I might find something, but Samutra Residence was so great that I would have to be a strongly negative person to find any flaws.
