I have stayed at The Rose Residence several times. I got upgraded! Superb service, a convenient location in Silom and comfortable facilities. I will be back. The attached restaurant is excellent.

All good. The rooftop bar and pool were closed for needed renovations - they must have noted my negative comment from last year. A small fitness centre would be a bonus.

The Rose Residence is a most wonderful oasis in otherwise noisy Bangkok - in a great location, just behind the 'Le Meridien' Hotel. A beautiful garden pool; large rooms; an amazing breakfast until 11:00; very friendly staff and a gracious owner. Do not overlook their first class but not overpriced Thai garden restaurant and their lovely tea room. Easy to reach via the Airport Train + change in Makkasan taking the blue line to Sam Yan [No. 27] + a 600 m walk. Avoid taxis during the rush hour, take at least the modern Airport train into town + a taxi.

Well located, peaceful with really fabulous staff. Room was substantial, breakfast good and a lovely pool area. Well located to the metro station making travel to the airport really straightforward.

We liked everything. The rug in the room was lovely but all the corners were turned up making it easy to trip over. Very small thing.

This is a lovely little hotel in downtown Bangkok. It is up a lane between two main streets, so is very quiet. The bedroom we had was huge and for the first time in our three week trip had masses of wardrobe and shelf space. We could unpack! The bathroom is also big with a really good shower. There is a courtyard garden for breakfast and drinks. The breakfast was very good with a good choice and changing "extras". There are two pools. One on the ground floor and one on the roof. It's perfect for some chilling time after city tourism. Plenty of loungers and pool towels are right there. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They booked restaurants for me when I couldn't get the online booking systems to work. It's very well situated. Sky train and metro stops are around 10 minutes walk. There are good restaurants in the area. Lumphini Park is 15 minutes walk, with the chance to walk on along the "green mile" to the amazing wetland of Benjakritti Park. Highly recommend this place. I would stay again.

The mattress was very hard. Not good for my back and I do prefer a firm mattress.

The staff were so kind and helpful, bringing us juice and cold towels when we arrived late at night. As other people have said, it's like an oasis in the middle of busy Bangkok. Two stations are close by as well as a colourful night market and lots of shops and restaurants. The breakfast in the leafy courtyard was very nice (including cats) and we liked the wooden decor of the rooms. They even gave us a complimentary basket of snacks! The restaurant in a historic building had excellent food. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Taxi drivers found it a bit hard to find, but I had made note of the alleyway entrance so knew where to go.

Awesome location! This hotel is like an oasis smacked in the middle of tall buildings and businesses. Once you are in the compound, you are gifted with an amazing garden, two swimming pools and an award winning restaurant. The service was beyond my expectations. It's just A-1 and very friendly too!

There's a building nearby that is being repaired or even demolished. It's noisy in the daytime but it is not their fault.

Beautifully maintained hotel! Breakfast has good variety, staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and hotel conveniently located next to BTS and MRT.

The hotel is tucked in a lane way so taxis may have a hard time finding it. Look for the sign on Surawongse Rd!

Unique decor in public rooms with antique furniture and memorabilia made it feel like a grand traditional home. Extraordinary displays of fresh flowers (including orchids) in foyer and sitting room were stunning and created a welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail typifies The Rose Residence, it’s Staff and it’s ambience for the guest. You are spoken to by name, and treated as a valued person, offered assistance and advice if needed. Many call this place a ‘gem’ an ‘oasis’ etc. it is all of that. A place of respite from the bustle and heat. I loved the swimming pools, preferring the rooftop one as it is less busy. The bigger one is in the garden adjacent to the century-old traditional cottage (now the restaurant). The ‘residence’ being down a laneway, means no through traffic, no being hassled. If lost, just note the location immediately behind Le Meridien Hotel. I thought breakfast was a wonderful fusion of Thai delights and some of the usual offerings in unique setting. The waiters, like other staff, were disciplined, friendly and offered “top drawer” standard of service. Although, I had not chosen a ‘superior’room, it was spacious, very nicely decorated, had large picture windows, a comfy sofa, desk, drawers, power points, lamps, coffee machine, fridge, spacious wardrobes, safe big bathroom etc etc. Staying here has spoiled me as other places for the same cost, will not be able to compete at this level. I’ve developed “champagne tastes on a beer budget” here as I now know what real quality and service can be and I will expect it. If ever in Bangkok this will definitely be my No. 1 choice for accommodation. Wifi was excellent, strong signal.

Don’t like leaving- think I’ll stay and have another swim after checking out.

The staff was great - very nice and helpful. They packed us a breakfast box for our early departure to the airport. Breakfast is very good with a la carte brunch type of food + delicious Thai food + there is a small buffet with home made bites and fresh fruits. There is also a great restaurant for lunch and diner. Rooms and bathroom are ok. They offer a complimentary 10-min neck and shoulder massage, which was amazing (not just because complimentary; truly very good).

Nothing. Maybe the rooms are a bit old, but I think it is quite similar to most of the hotels in Thaïlande.

Wonderful hotel with wonderful personnel. The lobby is amazing filled with flowers. The breakfast area outside is great! Very peaceful. The breakfast itself is fantastic if you are into Thai cuisine specifically. We loved everything. In close proximity to transportation like MTR. Would consider staying here again if we travel to Bangkok in the future.

Can't think of anything really. There was a construction site somewhere nearby but it didn't bother us at all even though we read about it in previous reviews and were slightly concerned. My girlfriend is sensitive to noise when it comes to sleeping and she has never complained about any noise coming from there. So in the end, there was nothing to worry about :) Also there was a slight leak in the bathroom probably coming from the hose of the shower attached to the toilet but that is super minor.
