Our recent stay in Chiang Mai was outstanding, thanks to the relaxed vibe of the city, the apartment we booked and the exceptional host, Akin. Right from the start, Akin made things easy with a flexible airport transfer and early check-in that accommodated our early morning arrival. This convenience set a positive tone for the entire stay. Akin's consideration for my elderly parents was noteworthy. He recommended fairly accessible attractions, including an elephant care park, and offered lifts when he was available, making our exploration of the city hassle-free. The apartment itself has a view of the mountain, and we came in December when the air was pretty cooling (eg 15 to 18 degrees in the evenings and mornings and up to 28 degrees during the day). The apartment is located in a convenient location - there is a great cafe next door that roasts their own coffee beans, and the whole street comes alive especially in the evenings with food stalls and cafes that cater to the university students who reside there. It is also easy to get Grab (e-hailing cab) to other areas in the city.

Amazing apartment with delicious (free) breakfast. Its location is great, especially if like to explore more of Chiang Mai than just the city centre. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help you. There is a small gym that offered enough facilities for me to do my morning workouts. (We were there during Songkran, so it's understandable that our apartment wasn't cleaned on a daily basis.)

The only downside for us were the 3 large cockroaches we found in our appartment and that there isn't a plug so you can take a bath.

I’m definitely so happy about everything 😍 The host is the friendliest person and cares so much, and the breakfast is really delicious. I felt really welcome. The room is very clean and spacious, views are stunning, and bathtub is large and comfortable like I’ve never seen. I’d be happy to have a bath room like this in my own house. The hand-painted pictures on the wooden furniture felt so elegant, and comforting. I feel very refreshed and inspired after visiting this property 🙏

The place will win if a small light lamp in the bedroom could be added. Sometimes you don’t want the bright ceiling light before your sleep. Also towels should have better smell. I’d prefer towels to be changed once in 2-3 days, not everyday, but to be washed in hot water. Now most of towels were a bit smelly

One of our favourite spots we've stayed at in Thailand. The host/hotel manager was wonderful and very helpful, we were picked up from the airport for free, the accommodation was huge, the breakfast was delicious, the location between a uni campus and green mountains was quiet and the night market across the street had some great food seriously considering coming back!

I wish there were not only shelves but clothes hangers too but it's not a deal breaker

Excellent location if you are looking for an out-of-town option that is close to the hills but still within a bustling part of the town. We love how the food choices are plentiful (market/street food stalls) and budget friendly just outside the apartment along Suthep road which opens till late. We were able to walk to the start of the monk’s trail and did a hike to Doi Suthep. It is a lot more peaceful compared to the busy traffic in the old city. The apartment is clean, very spacious and well-decorated. Air con is strong, water is hot. There is nothing to complain about.

The apartment is huge and in a very quiet area, yet full of life (many students around as it is near the universities). I had an amazing view on the surrounding mountains, very calming. The staff was super nice and professional, very helpful. They accomodated every morning a delicious homemade breakfast for my vegetarian needs. The location is good as it is relatively close to places of interest and quiet in the same time. Plus it has all you need by walking distance (restaurants, 7eleven, etc.) I would come again! The staff comes everyday to clean the room if you need. Comfortable bed and amazing huge bathroom. I never used the pool. It has a covered parking which is convenient.

Nothing. Maybe the wooden floor could get a deep cleaning as my feet would get dark quickly from walking barefoot inside the apartment.

Aster Residence is SO charming -- the rooms, the staff, and especially the mountain views!! I had a high-floor mountain-view room that was very spacious, and the views just blew me away. The staff were outstanding -- very kind and polite and thoughtful but not intrusive -- and they spoke excellent English. I loved all of the distinctive touches in the room, like paintings on the doors to the bathroom. The shower was terrific, with plenty of hot water that never varied in temperature, and thoughtfully provided instructions on how the handles worked. The location is wonderful, very close to the Monk's Trail and a ton of eateries, with few tourists.

I was hoping to stay longer, and was heartbroken when I found that the poor soundproofing made this impossible for me (but might not bother others, as my hearing is pretty sensitive). I could hear my next-door neighbors almost as though they were in the room with me, and motorbikes and construction from the neighborhood. Apart from that, it would be nice to have a bedside lamp and perhaps softer/warmer lighting, and a newer mattress. The springs were palpable, though I still slept well.

Max and his family are incredible hosts! Everything was seamless. Easy communication, pickup & drop off at the airport, the room (apartment) was lovely, with big windows and lots of light. The pool was refreshing, the elevator was useful, the location is great- right at the end of a bustling street (but the residence is really quiet and looking out into the mountains)

The living room, bedroom and bathroom are spacious. There is a kitchen with utensils which is convenient for me do some simple cooking. I got the mountain view room which is very nice. I like the location too as there're many food stalls nearby in the evening.

I saw a cockroach in the kitchen at night...
