Great river view and pool. Really nice room with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. Spa available and great food. Not too crowded, the perfect location if you want to relax for a couple of days without moving too much around. This hotel is more to stay rather than to be used as a hub to move around the area. If you want to do that, better stay directly in Kanchanaburi. Bring a book and relax next to the pool.

The location. it is on the outskirts of Kanchanaburi so to get to town or any other activities, you need to pay a bit extra in taxis. Also, the English of the staff needs to improve a bit (for the price point I would expect that)

The resort was luxurious. The pool and facilities exceeded our expectations. The restaurant by the river was a great end to the day with beautiful food. Staff were extremely helpful and attentive. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel was quite a way out of town so needed taxis to get around if you didnt have your own transport. We used grab and it worked out fine. We even agreed a price with a driver for the day and he took us everywhere we wanted to go.

Location on River Kwai with restaurant terrace overlooking the river and lovely large swimming pool.

On arrival we were asked to read and sign a long list of rules of the hotel. We found this quite insulting as they contained things like if sheets or towels were stained or cooking took place in the room there would be a penalty fee. As we checked out, room service had to inspect our room to check that no damage had been done. We have never encountered this very negative attitude to guests before and it did take the pleasure out of our stay.

Very enjoyable stay. Days relaxing by the large pool next to the peaceful river. Delicious Thai food for dinner, served either in the open sala or on the river terrace ... Live singer guitarist added to the atmosphere. Wide choice of Western or Thai food at breakfast. The room was clean and had everything needed. Shower room felt newly renovated. Just under one hours drive to Hell Fire Pass through beautiful countryside. 15 mins to The Bridge. Highly recommend.

The pool is absolutely stunning! We had a magical time here, our room was quite, clean and super comfortable. The dinning area for dinner service down by the river was wonderful, the staff super attentive. Food was delicious for all meals. We enjoyed the massive spread for buffet breakfast and the helpful staff when planning day trips. The Spa was wonderful, I had a couple of really great massages, friendly staff and a clean comfortable environment. That pool though - if it wasn't so hot when we were there (April) I could have spent days hanging out there.

I can't fault anything from this resort. The only thing that was unfortunate was the time of year we visited. April is the hottest month and we were there right at the end of March, it was roasting! But obviously, The Royal River Kwai can do nothing about the weather.

It is hard to understand how anyone could complain or give a poor review for this resort.It was a lovely place with such beautiful well kept grounds & pool area,a wonderful dining area for an evening meal right on the River Kwai,a superb breakfast Lovely staff Close to Kanchanaburi with a free shuttle provided if you don't have your own car.

Well after all I've said about how good this place is the only thing I found was that the beds & pillows were rock hard but I guess that's a preference thing.

Location is great but you need a taxi for everything. Is about 20min drive from Death Railway. Pool is really clean and deep too, it was always really quiet. Rooms were just what we needed, with a nice balcony. Clean and hygienic. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. The chef even made a vegetarian Pad Kra Pao for me. The Sawasdee cocktail is to die for.

Nothing really. My husband missed a gym but I was happy to have a few resting days for him. We also missed sleeping together in one bed.

The welcome and service of the staff was wonderful. It was right next to the river with a beautiful setting for dinner. The pool was magnificent. It’s almost a destination in itself.

One tiny personal thing is that I would have liked a little table at my side of the bed to put my phone on etc. It’s petty but just a useful thing to say for the hotel. The other thing was they use UHT milk at the breakfast restaurant

Beautiful spot on the River Kwai. Lovely outlook, room was well appointed. The pool was good and a decent size.

The location was a little tricky as it was hard to get a Grab or taxi into town from the hotel. You need to consider your transport options if you stay here. Closest 7 Eleven is at least 500m away. No shops nearby. There are only two shuttles a day from the hotel.

Peaceful hotel - a great place to relax and chill out without a lot of noise. Perfect riverside location - if you get up early enough, you can watch kingfishers dive in and out of the trees to feed. Not too many people and food and beverage outlets closed at 10:00 PM, so no late night chaos. Highly recommended for a riverside getaway...

The pool is a decent size but there is no fitness centre, so swimming is the only exercise option.
