This place is incredible! Doesn't get any better than this. Clean and quiet rooms. Pool overlooking beautiful bamboo beach. The restaurant in inexpensive and has everything, including motorbikes for rent and a stunning view. It's a short walk down the hills from the hotel either way to world class beaches with bars and restaurants. I would live in this hotel if I could, maybe next time I will. I'm actually blown away by how great this place is and the view from the rooms is incredible and breathtaking. I'm scared the rest of my hotels on my trip are going to be sub par, this place set the bar so high. Highly recommend staying here, you can't beat it and the price.

Fantastic location a short walk from the beach, in an unbelievably beautiful part of Koh lanta. Quiet, and laidback with 2 restaurants directly across the road and another down on the nearby beach - all serving good Thai food. The walk back from the beach is short but uphill, but you have an amazing pool to cool off when you get back, with a stunning view. The staff were friendly and helpful, bottled water and coffee provided daily. If wifi is necessary for your stay here it was patchy during our stay, but this didn’t bother us at all as we were looking to relax on a quiet part of the island.

This hotel boasts an amazing location, offering tranquility and close proximity to the beach (Bamboo beach). A major highlight is the owner's restaurant right in front, serving mouthwatering dishes! I highly recommend it. The staff are incredibly friendly and eager to assist with any requests. As I needed a stable internet connection for work, Mrs. Kop graciously provided me with the passwords for the 5Gwi-fi and even suggested the best spot to work – one of the terraces next to the pool, ensuring a peaceful and productive environment. This is truly a fantastic place with fantastic people!

We had a wonderful stay at Ma Lanta House!! First of all, the room was super spacious and comfy. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked great. The shower had a good pressure. Overall the room was neat and clean. We got water bottles, toilet paper and instant coffee refilled every day. The area around the hostel was pretty and the views especially from the pool were spectacular! The pool itself was nice and almost always empty so we had it completely to ourselves multiple times. The staff were friendly and they also managed a restaurant at the opposite side of the hotel. There was also another restaurant beside it and both served good thai food. The hotel is located nearby two beaches that are within walking distance. We got help from the staff for booking a transfer to the other side of the island at a fair price. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would come back any day! 100% recommend.

The wifi was lagging sometimes.

Very Nice room with a wonderful view. Very comfortable quality bed and linens, clean and in good condition. Tea/coffee provided. Nice gardens and swimming pool clean and again, great view. Useful restaurant below but didn't try, other good value options near, scooter essential. Nice walk down to the beach, exceptional bay. No hesitation in staying again.

Small items.... Would be nice to have shade on the outside sitting area as this gets hot, would be perfect if each room had its own small balcony area, realise this is difficult, the door on the toilet could hit the wc pan... But minor... Maybe special breakfast price for guests would be great😊

The view from our room was incredible. You could see the mountain and the ocean. It was peaceful and tranquil. The pool overlooks down to the ocean. It was lovely. Surrounding the pool were seats to admire the lovely sunsets. The hotel was in a quiet location but close enough to the restaurants. The room itself was clean and cosy. The air-con was cold and the bathroom was a nice size. I enjoy staying in this hotel and highly recommend to anyone visiting Koh Lanta.

The negative experience I encountered was the lack of communication from the hotel. The many messages, emails and phone calls I did to reach out to the hotel came back with nil response. It was frustrating. When I arrived to check-in, I found out there was no reception, an office desk or any staff on ground. Thankfully, a fellow guest had the Manager's telephone number and helped me contact him. Like me, he couldn't find anyone to check him in the day before. Apparently, the Manager also worked in the restaurant across from the hotel. We had a little trouble understanding each other since I couldn't speak Thai and he knew nominal English.

Clean rooms with a fridge, AC, and comfortable beds. Bathroom was clean and the toilet / sink section would not automatically flood everytime we took a shower. The restaurant staff is nice and helpful, but not proficient in English. We rented a good scooter directly from the hotel at a reasonable price. Short walking distance to two of the nicest beaches on the whole island (steep downhill walking though).

WIFI did not work reliably. We did not use the pool because it did not meet our cleanliness expectations; pool furniture not inviting. We did not find the food offered in the family restaurant enjoyable and quite expensive for what is offered. We needed to bother other hotel guests to find the person responsible for check-in because it is not obvious to travelers that the restaurant across is the street is actually part of the hotel and that the owner usually works from there. Another note on communication: it would be nice to inform guests about the average price of a taxi transfer from Sala Dan pier to the hotel because the taxis obviously, notoriously overcharge tourists. Also, Grab and Bolt is sabotaged on the whole island.

Great location and small family run hotel. Friendly staff. Room's are spartan but ok, mine smelt a little damp from the bathroom. You're in a quiet and secluded area, which can also be a negative for transport unless you have a scooter.

2 issues. The rooms open out onto a walkway, so for privacy you'll need to keep your curtains drawn. Which means you don't really get to benefit from the beautiful views. And secondly, there's none of the infrastructure of a hotel (no reception etc). The restaurant below (run by the same family) is where you can book tours, order taxi etc. It meant there wasn't much of a social vibe in the hotel.

The bungalows are beautiful and the view is great, it’s very well priced. The pool is also clean and fantastic with great views. The beds are comfy, the location is beautiful and secluded and the rooms are spacious and lovely.

There is no reception as such and also nowhere to refill drinking water. The bathrooms quickly get very wet which if staying a few nights can mean they get a bit unclean. You have to find staff to ask for fresh towels if you can’t get them dry after a couple of days, they are very happy to help but as there is no reception it’s unclear where to ask.
