The room is clean and nice, the bathroom is bigger than I expected, and the bed is very comfortable, I like the balcony especially when the wind blows and the sound of the bell is wonderful. Dan is very nice and humorous and helpful and approachable, the actual scenery is more beautiful than the pictures on the website. The location is very ideal, and there is a primary school nearby, and there is a big night market on Friday. It’s also convenient to go to Karon beach.

The clean staff here has a little racial discrimination. He ignores me directly when meet me in the front of the door, while smile at the people behind me at the same time, which is very offensive.

We had a room with cooking facilities which was great as we cooked our own breakfasts. The pool was beautiful and warm. The rooms were very clean.

The bathroom door is a slat door which let a lot of light into your face in the morning. A pull down blind on the small bathroom window could help. The only other thing was there was constant noise coming from the room above ours. It was non stop 8am to midnight. It sounded like children jumping up and down and constant moving of furniture. It almost sounded like a dance or gymnastic class upstairs. Other than that everything was great.

One of the best hotels/rooms we have stayed in during our travels around Asia for the price you pay (we had a standard double). The room was very spacious with a good size balcony overlooking the pool, which had a large clothes drying rack. Bed was very comfortable. Wifi was good. Location is 10 minute walk from Karon beach and even closer the town with all the bars/shops/restaurants. Staff were friendly and even hooked us up with a really good/affordable Moped rental. Highly recommend staying here 👍

Great location quiet off the main road close to the Temple Complex and ten min walk to beach with bars / restaurants 3/4 mins away. Managing Staff superb nothing too much trouble lovely couple, rooms cleaned and bedding changed every day excellent friendly service, cannot speak highly enough !

Nothing to not like

Really cute little resort in Karon, just off the main road but on a very cute little road next to the temple. I stayed in 2 of the rooms and they were both great! We booked 6 nights first but extended with 2 more weeks. Staff was so friendly and helpful with anything, cleaned the room everyday. Will defently come back.

This place was everything we needed for our time in Karon. It’s kept so clean!! we stayed in the studio apartment and it was perfectly equipped with everything we needed to cook for 4 days. The staff were friendly, the air con was great, the wifi was so fast, our room was serviced every day which was a wonderful touch.

the only flaw was the bed and sofa are very hard. this seems to be a common thing in Thailand so we weren’t too disheartened, but a mattress topper would go a long way 😊

Lots of shops around. Close to the beach. Easy to rent motor nearby and the area is quite and peaceful far enough to the main road. Rooms cleaned daily unless you tell them otherwise. There's a table and chairs in the veranda and there's clothes rack.

The light in the middle of the headboard of the bed and it didn't work.

Cleaning is everyday,they change bed and towels everyday. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Due to low season not so many people are staying here. Swimming pool is terrific. Location is perfect, far from noisy road. Stuff is friendly, but it is a bit hard to explain something in English to them.

Small ants are everywhere. You should be careful with snacks and fruits, they just cover food in few seconds

We both had a really nice and memorable stay at Baan Chay Lay. Personally, we felt it was better than the rating on booking.com - it isn’t luxurious but it has everything you need and more, nice views, good/safe location and very friendly staff. The staff were so friendly and hospitable which made the stay amazing. If you enjoy falling asleep to rain, perfect place! The housekeeper offers to clean your room everyday and provides new towels, if you wish!

Every night there is a high-power stereo around to play music, music noise affects the rest. Apart from the music noise, everything was fine.
